Brain-Building Activity #7: Find the Perfect Pairing
Turn the chore of a big Sunday night pile of laundry into a matching game! As you’re sorting and folding, have your child hunt for matching socks. Talk about who has big feet (we’re looking at you, Dad!) and who has little feet in your family. Talk about which socks go together and why. Do they have the same color, pattern, or size?
Figuring out how things are the same and how they are different helps your child understand and interpret the world around her. Having a back-and-forth conversation—even about something as silly as socks—helps your little one learn how to be a good communicator!
