AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited - nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference, and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Newington KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step: kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language, math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)

You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)

In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication, and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!

Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math, science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program. From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we have the data to prove it.)

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do amazing things!

Family Stories

Don't take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • My child is in the preschool classroom here at the Newington KInderCare. As a preschooler, my son has developed a great understanding of his letters, numbers and shapes. He has learned so much throughout his three years at KinderCare. He is excited and eager to go to school everyday and to spend time with his teachers and friends. All of his teachers go above and beyond to take such good care of my son and I am very thankful for their thoughtfulness.

  • My son has been enrolled at KinderCare for over a year. My favorite part of every day is listening to my two-year-old on the drive home singing songs he learned at circle time. The skills he has learned from group experiences with friends are not lessons he could have received if I had kept him home. He shares well, cooperates during group activities, and he is practicing manners at the dinner table that he has picked up from KinderCare’s family style dining. I often observe Ms. Enidza sitting at the table talking the children through their projects and activities. My son loves his teacher and that makes all the difference. I’m proud to say my son is a KinderCare kid, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the sweet and wonderful person KinderCare has helped him to become.

  • My child has learned and thrived so much in the infant program at KinderCare. As a nursing mom, KinderCare was very accommodating and I was always made to feel comfortable. He has caring, attentive teachers and a safe, stimulating environment that keeps him occupied all day. When I see him at lunch or pick him up at the end of the day, he is all smiles and so engrossed in his play! I believe that the early socialization has given him a great head start and is teaching him skills that will benefit him when he starts school . Each day I get email updates on how my child is doing and even pictures of him to brighten my day! Returning to work wasn't an easy transition, but I feel secure knowing we made the right decision for our child.

  • My son Jake has been at KinderCare since he was an infant. He is now in Prekindergarten. Because of KinderCare, Jake has grown and learned so much. He has always loved to go to school and socialize with his friends. He has had excellent teachers throughout the years that have given him a great foundation of knowledge for when he starts Kindergarten. Through the excellent curriculum and knowledge of teachers he has learned the skills to succeed in life. I am so thankful for all of the teacher dedication that has provided positive growth of my son.

  • My wife and I enrolled our oldest daughter at KinderCare in Newington over two years ago and although our daughter has since "graduated" and is now in Kindergarten we couldn't have been more pleased with the staff and curriculum at the Newington location. When she first entered KinderCare she was like any other three-year-old: nervous and wanting her mommy or daddy. Being responsible for her drop-off in the morning I had the fortune of having the loving hands of Ms. Nicole to pass my daughter on to as I tried to quickly leave the building for work. She was patient and kind with my daughter. Over the course of time my daughter and Ms. Nicole really bonded. Even though my oldest daughter now attends school in Wethersfield we still have our youngest daughter enrolled at the center. We have confidence in Ms. Nicole and know that she is in safe hands. When I pick her up in the afternoon it is amazing what she and all of her classmates are exposed to and taught. Whether the subject is emotions one week, colors the next or autumn and leaves the following week I know my daughter is learning and I know Ms. Nicole is doing her best to educate and meet all the needs of the children she is responsible for. The paintings displayed on the classroom walls or on my daughter's clothes when I pick her up are amazing as well. I noticed my daughter made a beautiful picture of her home which is now on display in her classroom, the reality is my wife and I are very satisfied with KinderCare right now with how they are helping our daughter to grow. It goes without saying that our youngest is learning more now than my wife or I ever did at the same age. As our daughter approaches the age of two in march it is impressive how Ms. Nicole and her staff tend to her physical, educational and social needs. She does such a wonderful job with the kids and I'm always impressed by her patience with them as well. KinderCare and Ms. Nicole are laying the foundation for educational success for our daughter. My wife and I couldn't be more satisfied with the growth and development that we see in our daughter and we thank Nicole and her staff for contributing to that. As my daughter and the other students learn about farm animals and pumpkins this time of year, my wife and I know our daughter is in good hands. On a personal note, when our daughter was rushed to the hospital from KinderCare last June the following day Ms. Nicole said she cried as she was taken away in the ambulance. I haven't forgotten that comment from her which tells you how important they are to me and is indicative of what a loving, caring person and educator Nicole Lastrina is and continues to be. She's awesome, loves kids and has a great personality. We're glad our daughter is with her, it's a great match.

  • I would like to thank you for the care, education and support you and your staff provided for my Jadah during her attendance at KinderCare of Newington. Between the spacious facility and kind and knowledgeable teachers, KinderCare was a perfect choice for my baby. I like the balance that the learning center provides between taking time to develop important skills, and giving kids the time to laugh and play with their peers. The creative spaces made it so much more fun for them to enjoy time with their friends.
I especially would like to express many thanks to your teachers and assistant teachers for their patience and dedication in providing quality care and learning experiences to the children. The energetic personality of the staff and the Directors: Erin, Nicole, Jenna and Nikki was always very open and responsive to any questions or concerns. I also want to mention Ms. Danielle, Ms. Kathy and Ms. Beth from the Infant and Toddler rooms and thank them for their tolerance and commitment to the kids in their classroom. This is where the kids learn the most important skills like writing and reading, and the teachers have done a great job making sure the kids are achieving results.
I wish that Jadah could of stayed at KinderCare of Newington longer, but because of me moving out of state I had to move Jadah to another school. We miss everyone very much.
Once again, many thanks to all the staff and good luck in everything!

  • As a first time parent I was very nervous about leaving my 2 year old son with any strangers. Then I came across KinnderCare. From the very first call that I made to them to going to there location to speak with them before I made my decision was amazing. They answered all my questions and acknowledged any concerns I had. Once I walked out the doors that day I knew this is where I want my son to be.

One of the biggest things that made me know instantly that this is the right place to be is there unique one of a kind ways that they keep you updated on how your child is doing throughout the day. You have an app that links to your phone or personal computer where they send you pictures of your child and what they are doing daily. Also for the younger ones they tell you every-time there is a diaper change to how long they nap and what they eat throughout the day.

All of the teachers are amazing and go above and beyond. Even the teachers who are not in my sons classroom knows his name and greets him every morning. Even though things and procedures are a little bit different now due the pandemic, this wonderful staff still goes above and beyond to make sure all of the children feel safe and comfortable.

I’m so glad that we made this decision to send our son here and grateful for everyone who is playing a role in helping him grow!
