Racine KinderCare Programs
Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)
Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and ready to explore their world.
Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)
Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.
Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)
This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them get used to a more structured school setting.
Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)
This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step: kindergarten!
Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)
When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language, math, science, Spanish, and social skills.
Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)
You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!
School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)
Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.
Participating Child Care Aware Center
KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and flexible support to fit their needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.
Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program
Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)
In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication, and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!
Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)
KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math, science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare way of learning the foundations of music.
Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)
Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program. From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we have the data to prove it.)
Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with the Spanish language. Music, games, children's Spanish literature, and other tools give children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language to develop vocabulary and conversation skills. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers, colors, animals, family, body parts, and pets, as well as how to engage conversationally during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo.
“ My husband and I had worked opposite shifts since the birth of our daughter (age three) and neither she nor our son (age 16 months) had been in daycare. In December of 2011, my husband had to go to first shift and we were in a predicament to find daycare, fast. I tend to be anxious as it is, so the thought of leaving my children with someone else who was not a family member or close friend made me cry! I was very nervous to even start looking for daycare, but I did start my search and went to about 15 centers in Racine and Kenosha. My family told me I would know by a feeling when I found the right center and I had the instant “I feel comfortable” moment when I walked into Racine’s KinderCare. Michelle was wonderful when I first met her and took a lot of time to sit with me and my husband to talk about KinderCare. I remember we came late and she stayed past the center closing to talk to us. Ms. Diane even called me a few days later to talk to me about my little baby son (who was 12 months at the time) being in her care. I again instantly felt comfortable with Ms. Diane and knew she would be an excellent teacher to my children! Once I decided on KinderCare, Michelle also took the time to try and work with my husband and I with our financial situation. She also allowed me to visit many times and let my child visit, which made it easier to start the transition. Finally January 31, 2012 came and I had to drop my children off for their first day. I was dreading the day from the moment I found out I had to put them in daycare. After I said goodbye, I went to my car and cried, but not as bad as I thought I would cry. I actually felt okay, knew this was the right place for me and my family, and was able to proceed with the rest of my day. I thought I was going to have to take a vacation day because I would be so upset leaving them for the first time, but I think all of the positive experiences I had already had with KinderCare made it much easier for me to say goodbye. And all of the continued positive experiences have made it easier for me to say goodbye every day when I drop them off for care! As the months have progressed, I have been extremely happy with all of the teachers and Ms. Michelle. My son reaches to Ms. Diane like she is a family member and is so happy when I leave him with her in the mornings. She is a wonderful person/teacher and I would feel comfortable leaving my newborn with her if I do decide to have another baby! Ms. Lisa and Ms. Bethany are wonderful with my daughter and have taught her so much more than I expected! I can’t believe some of the concepts and vocabulary she has gained from attending KinderCare. They have also helped to potty train her and given me valuable advice on how to parent. All of the teachers realize that I need the extra time when I drop them off or pick up to talk about my children, and I appreciate they take the time to listen and talk to me. Ms. Emerita, Ms. Ashley, and Ms. Elisa have also been great in the limited interactions I have had with them and I look forward to getting to know them more as my children get older and spend more time with them as well! And Ms. Mary is always so nice to us in the mornings and my children (especially my son) love her because they knows she is bringing them good food! I am very lucky to have found Racine KinderCare and look forward to many more years of attendance with my children. Thank you for your great staff and wonderful programs!Show more
“ My 23-month-old son has been attending KinderCare since he was six months old. It was very difficult for us to leave our only child in another person's care. When we toured the center, the director was infectious with her enthusiasm and love for children. We also met the infant caregiver, who has been at the center for over 27 years! Since then, we've been very happy with the center's director and entire staff. Every staff member is so loving and caring toward my son…even the cook! It's so comforting to see my son so happy with everyone there. They truly provide a home away from home for my son. To this day, the center director updates me on my son's daily events with great enthusiasm. We are very happy with KinderCare as they provide affordable rates and priceless discoveries in a safe, nurturing learning environment.Show more
“ I first contacted Michelle, the center director, in early summer 2012 with a lot of questions and concerns because as foster parents, we were not sure if placing our little ones in child care all day was the best option for them. After talking with Michelle, I was completely put at ease due to her knowledge of the special needs that many foster children come with. She immediately made me feel assured and I knew if we made the decision to place our little ones in child care, we would go in this direction. About a month or two later, my husband was at the Racine Zoo with one of our little ones and he saw KinderCare on a summer field trip. When he came home, he could not say enough wonderful things about how the teachers worked with the children and how they were learning and having fun, yet were under control, polite, and working together. After witnessing that, I immediately made another call to the center to speak to Michelle and made the decision to enroll our little ones as soon as the new school year started and my husband, a teacher, started back at school again. Since then, we've had multiple little ones who have come into our lives and gone onto different homes in the last nine months and we have watched all of them grow and flourish beyond anything I could have ever imagined. It takes a very special bunch of educators to make scared little ones who were just removed from their home, placed in foster care, and now placed in child care to feel loved, comforted, stable, and learn. Michelle and all of her teachers, especially Ms. Bethany, who has been lucky enough be the teacher of all of our little ones, have made nothing but a positive imprint on the lives of all of these little ones and we will be with this KinderCare for as long as we are foster parents.Show more
“ I brought my son to Racine KinderCare shortly after my wife and I found out he has food allergies, with his food allergies being a huge concern! They have an on-site cook who is able to provide different substitutions for him. I have no doubt in my mind that he is being watched over with his food intake. KinderCare also is providing his soy milk for him and therefore I don't have to provide anything for him to eat and drink. KinderCare takes care of him.Show more
