AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED
We’re so proud!
Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited - nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference, and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY
What Learning Looks Like
Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.
Lakewood KinderCare Programs
Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)
Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and ready to explore their world.
Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)
Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.
Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)
This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them get used to a more structured school setting.
Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)
This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step: kindergarten!
Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)
When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language, math, science, Spanish, and social skills.
School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)
Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.
Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program
Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)
KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math, science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare way of learning the foundations of music.
Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)
Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program. From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we have the data to prove it.)
STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)
You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do amazing things!
Our Teachers
We're the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn't enough though. KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply, we love our teachers and your child will, too.

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH
An Artist's Heart
"My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We're so proud to have been named one of Gallup's 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award. When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience an amazing place to learn and grow.

When we joined the Lakewood KinderCare family, we came from a daycare situation that did not end well. From day one, when we dropped off our son with Ms. Carol, we have been shown nothing but respect from the staff of KinderCare. It's such a welcoming environment and everyone seems to know who our son is! This speaks volumes to the staff and shows that they care enough to take the time to get to know the children who attend there. Our son has individual memories with each of the teacher's he has had, whether it's a high five at the end of each day, learning their names when we talk about them at home, or saying "bye-bye" to them as we leave the center. We are now in the Discovery Preschool Classroom and have only been there for a short while, but the teachers in that room have been so good with our transition. We can't thank KinderCare enough for the growth that we've seen in our son since he's joined back in February 2015. We can see daily changes in him. Thank you, KinderCare!

My husband and I feel very fortunate to have built such a positive relationship with the staff at Lakewood KinderCare. The staff have cared for, loved, and educated several of our foster children. They have always provided a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. They have shed tears along with us when our foster children have had to move on to the next steps in life. Our daughters love going to school every morning, discussing their hopes for the day on the way there. They have learned and grown so much. On numerous occasions, they have taken what they have learned in the classroom and used it correctly in other situations. This is a testament to the quality of educational programming and conscientious teachings at KinderCare. The staff is providing our children the necessary skills to be successful in kindergarten. We are thankful for the staff at KinderCare.

The process to find an accredited center that met my standards as a mother was long and tiring. I had visited countless other facilities and always left not having enough trust in them to care for my daughter. I walked in KinderCare when my daughter was ten weeks old and was questioning my decision to go back to work. The Director handled me coming in without an appointment beautifully and everything was in order. She asked me what I was looking for in a center which made me feel at ease. I hadn’t been asked that before. Once I did the tour of the Infant Classroom and met Ms. Carol, who has a very long tenure, I knew this was the place for my child. My daughter had some medical concerns and I needed someone who was going to help us jump the hurdles while she was away from our care. Ms. Carol and the other faculty at KinderCare jumped right in and has far exceeded my expectations. I feel completely at ease to leave my daughter in their care every day and I’m excited when I pick her up to see what fun activities she was able to participate in and pick up on things she has learned from her classmates. She is happy and thriving, the only things that matter to a mother.

I have a six-year-old, three-year-old, and two-year-old at the Lakewood KinderCare. We have been part of this family for two years. I would say this facility is clean, organized, structured, maintained, and prepares healthy meals. I wish I could say these teachers are good, but can’t--they are super, duper awesome! We are lucky they took us in and care for us like family. They are a special team and we are blessed to have them raise our babies when we can not. My whole heart smiles for our KinderCare!

I have been sending my children to the Lakewood KinderCare for over ten years. With three children, you will have three very different personalities. From my boisterous boy to my shy girls, the staff at KinderCare has nurtured each of my children's needs and given them the courage to try something new. I love how consistent the staff is between each age level and how long each teacher has been at this center. It gives my children comfort to walk in and see the same faces each day. I could not imagine my children growing so much in any other place.

Absolutely love this daycare/school, my son has been here for going on his fourth week. The Director Julie is amazing. She is so caring and comforting, which is what it takes to run a daycare. You truly must care the children or else it shows to the parents that's not your number one priority, and she is amazing at making sure you know your child is cared for all day. I went through two different centers before I finally put my son here, and it was the best choice I could have made so far. My son is allergic to eggs and the first day I dropped him off, the cook at the school called me herself to get specifics on what my son could and couldn't have. That in itself shows they are organized and care about the health of their children. It's more expensive than most daycares in Lee's Summit, but worth every penny. You just can't put a price on good child care. Those are your babies, your life, and your most valuable belongings.

I cannot say enough good things about this school! I was extremely nervous putting my three-year-old son in a preschool and going back to work, but the staff at Lakewood KinderCare is so great with him and the kids are very well-behaved. I was just blown away by how helpful and guiding everyone is at this location. My son has learned so much in the time he has been there and still gets excited to go to school every morning. KinderCare is totally worth every penny and even a little extra drive time!
