Brain-Building Activity #8: Family Dance Party!

Brain-Building Activity #8: Family Dance Party!

Turn on some tunes and cut a rug together. For young children, the goofier the dance is, the better: shake a leg, wiggle your hips, whip your hair back and forth! Can your pint-size partner copy your moves? Next song, it’s his turn to lead. Go back and forth until you’re all danced out!

Dancing teaches your child to pay attention to sounds and rhythm—in fact, by learning to recognize these patterns, he will understand math and number sequences, too! Dancing together also gives him a chance to lead—and that’s a really good feeling for little kids.

Meet the Bezos Family Foundation.

The Bezos Family Foundation believes that all children are born with a deep desire and potential to learn—and that education is the best investment we can make today to ensure a better tomorrow (and at KinderCare, we couldn’t agree more). The Vroom program was created to inspire families to turn everyday moments into opportunities for children to learn and grow. Developed with input from neuroscientists, early childhood experts, and parents, Vroom shares the science of early brain development with families because all parents have the potential to create a bright future for their kids.
