AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited–nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference, and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

Our kids are taking off!

By kindergarten, our kids are testing ahead of their peers. Read all about it.

Accreditation

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Monthly Activities

July's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: What’s the Weather and Wonderful Water
This month we go all natural as infants and toddlers are introduced to the weather and children in Discovery Preschool experiment and have fun with water. Sensory adventures will continue for infants as they explore playing with colored water and experiment with how pinwheels and scarves move in the wind. Meanwhile, toddlers will use musical instruments to create the sound of rain and will connect their learning to the world as they role-play different weather scenarios, such as a warm summer day at the beach and a cold, snowy winter day. In Discovery Preschool, children will be learning about different bodies of water as well as how people use water in their everyday lives.

Children 4 to 5 years old: Spectacular Science and All About Books
In the first two weeks of this month, we take older children on a scientific journey of discovery to learn more about the natural world before turning the focus to the amazing world of books! Preschoolers will learn about states of matter, force, motion, and magnetism; children in Pre-K will learn about natural formations like rivers, mountains, and deserts; and kindergarteners will discover the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling. When we turn to books, children will learn about the different parts of books, explore the roles of author and illustrator, and learn what makes a book fiction or nonfiction.

November's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Foods and Flavors
This month infants, toddlers, and the little ones in Discovery Preschool will be exploring foods and flavors! It’s never too early to expose children to healthy food—even babies who aren’t eating solids yet. All children will explore, read about, play with, and create around different foods, but each age group will have a different focus. Infants will practice sensory exploration and create their own pretend soup, toddlers will count and measure food items, and the children in Discovery Preschool will learn about the different food groups—including a pretend farmers market.

Children 4–5 years old: Farms and Community
The older children will focus on learning first about farms, and then their community! Farms are filled with so many science- and social science-based learning opportunities for children. Children will learn all about barns and farming equipment, which animals are raised on a farm, and which crops are grown. They’ll also focus on their own communities and learn all about the different kinds of places that exist, the people who live there, and the jobs that those people do.

December's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Family, Friends, and Things that Go!
Infants and toddlers will be exploring family and friends, while three-year-olds will focus on things that go vroom! Social and emotional development is foundational to growth and development in babies, so this month, infants and toddlers will participate in activities that reinforce their connection to family while also exploring connections that exist outside their home, such as friends. Meanwhile, their older friends in Discovery Preschool will learn about and play around with things that move (like bicycles, cars, buses, trains, and airplanes), which are all very exciting for little ones as they continue to explore the world outside their homes.

Children 4–5 years old: My Country + Tools and Machines
The four- and five-year-olds continue exploring the world around them by learning about the state and country they live in! They’ll sings songs, play games based on travel, and learn about flags, state foods, and more. Children will also be introduced to cardinal directions (east, west, north, and south) and gain an appreciation for travel and meeting new friends from different places. Children are naturally fascinated with machines and how things work and are put together. So to encourage that fascination, during the second half of this month children will learn about and play around with tools and machines. In addition to building literacy skills by using the names of machines and tools, children will develop math skills by graphing information, counting wheels, and more.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Transitional Kindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

A program for children who missed the kindergarten cutoff date. If your child completed or mastered prekindergarten but did not meet the cutoff date for kindergarten, this is the right choice for you. Enhanced whole-group activities and project-related learning activities help engage children in key competency areas such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Cooking

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

Math

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Teachers & Staff

Our loving and devoted professionals at KinderCare are passionate about teaching and caring for young children. As a high-quality child development program, our teachers exceed state minimum standards for education level and ongoing professional development. Their lifelong love of learning is evident in their desire to stay abreast of new research and teaching techniques. Families meet with teachers three times per year to review their child’s progress, which is documented in our developmentally appropriate assessments, portfolios, and anecdotal notes about daily achievements. We feel privileged to work alongside families to form supportive and cooperative partnerships.

Health and Safety

Our top priority at Prairie View KinderCare is to provide a safe and healthy environment for our children, families, and staff. We do this through rigorous training and constant assessment and evaluation of proper policies and procedures. Your child’s security begins at the front door--literally. We have a locked security entrance that requires a numeric code to enter, with all side doors locked to ensure the security of the building. All guests or those authorized for emergency pick-ups must provide photo identification before being escorted through the building. Our teachers have all cleared local, state, and federal background checks, including fingerprinting, and have all been trained in infant and child CPR and First Aid. We do routine fire, storm, and lock-down drills to prepare for the unexpected. No child is ever left unattended, even for a minute. Teachers have all been trained in supervision, discipline and guidance, and developmentally appropriate practices to ensure they understand the risks associated with the children in their care. If your child has food allergies or specific medical conditions, we will work with you to ensure your child’s well-being while in our care. We also take the responsibility of your child’s emotional security very seriously: We want every child to feel safe, loved, and respected while at KinderCare.

At KinderCare, what families say about us means a lot. Read below some of the great experiences our families have had with us.

Share Your Story
If you have a story about your experience at KinderCare, please share your story with us.

I have a seven-month-old son and an 18-month-old daughter, both of whom have attended since they were seven weeks old. I am extremely grateful for the communication that the center has with my wife and I about the care, needs, and education of our children. I love the daily notes as well as pictures throughout the week on what the children have done. We feel blessed our children are at a place were we feel valued as a family and can see the genuine care and love for our children.

- Father

I have two boys who attend KinderCare and they absolutely love it. They are excited to go each and every morning. The teachers are fantastic and the Directors are very involved in more ways than one, and always stay on top of everything. Everyone there is always friendly and always has a smile on their faces. My boys have developed and learned so much at an incredible rate since attending KinderCare. As a parent, I couldn’t ask for much more out of a preschool. As for my children, I don’t think they could either. We all love it and I would highly recommend them to anyone in search of a preschool.

- Father

My five-year-old son has been attending this center since he was 13 weeks old. It has been a great experience for my son as a student and for me as a parent. The associates are kind, knowledgeable, and friendly. Although there are many wonderful things to say about Prairie View KinderCare, what I appreciate the most is that the staff truly cares about my son and his future. I feel he has gotten a great start here at KinderCare from the caring staff, the fun educational environment, the individual attention they give each student, and the all-important communication between parents and teachers. Keep up the great work and thanks for all you do!

- Parent

My twins have been attending KinderCare for just over a year. The staff is very responsive to any need for change and you can just feel the positive vibes coming off everyone there. The staff seem to love their jobs and our kids. My daughter has extra needs and the staff has gone above expectations to meet her needs and help her achieve goals, and there's an overall overwhelming sense that they want our kids there. I would absolutely recommend it to another family.

- Mother

Our son first joined Prairie View KinderCare during March 2012 when he was one and a half years old. We had spent the previous month or so touring different facilities, meeting with Center Directors, etc. in an attempt to find a good fit for our son while we were at work. Upon walking into KinderCare, we were immediately impressed with the cleanliness of the center, the numerous labeled (& organized) 'stations,' as well as all of the artwork and photos hanging on the walls. However, the main deciding factor was the teachers. All of our son's teachers have made him feel special and unique each and every day they spend with him. He is given the adequate attention he needs, yet the space to interact with his fellow classmates/friends. As he has advanced through the different classrooms (he is now in the Discovery Preschool class), we have continued to be impressed with the activities, topics discussed, and in turn, the direct increase in his knowledge of day-to-day life lessons. The best part is picking him up and seeing how excited he is to show off the different artwork activities he has done during the day. This class has continued to challenge him while still offering a stable, safe, and daily routine he needs to build his confidence. Whether it has been helping us to teach him how to use his words, wean him off of his pacifier, learning how to use the big boy potty, or how to interact in a social environment, KinderCare has been a huge help and asset in the development of our child's learning. Thank you!

- Parents

Choosing a daycare center can be one of the most difficult decisions a parent makes. Once we thought about it, we realized that our child’s teacher(s) were going to spend more awake time with him than we would during the workweek. Like any parent, we want the best for our child and with KinderCare, we have made a great choice. Our son has been enrolled since he was three months old. Ms. Lauren did an amazing job nurturing our son and was just as excited as we were when he could roll over, sit up, and take those first baby steps. Once our son graduated to Ms. Kristina and Ms. Kodi’s class, his sense of exploration increased as he further developed social and communication skills. His teachers take the time to let us know how his day was and what adventures he accomplished during the day. It takes a village to raise a child, and we certainly appreciate the one we have. Ms. A.J. and Ms. Jamie are as involved as our son’s teachers are and know just as well how his day was.   Our son has asthma and the Directors and his teachers are fully aware of the symptoms and administer the prescribed medical attention as he needs it. The staff is wonderful at communicating with our family and we feel comfortable voicing any concern we may have with our son’s care. It is comforting to know our son is in such caring hands while we are away. KinderCare is truly a family beyond our family.
