Welcome

We believe that happy, loved, and connected children are destined for success in every facet of their lives. Our staff at West Bloomfield work together to strengthen and encourage every child's emotional, intellectual, social and physical needs while partnering with the parents. We recognize that curriculum is more than what appears in manuals or a series of activities. Curriculum is everything that happens in a classroom: the room arrangement, the choices children are offered throughout the day, and the way adults interact with children. Our carefully constructed curriculum ensures children's needs are addressed on an individual basis and that the families are involved with their child's milestones and accomplishments. My staff and I are committed to providing a safe, fun and educational environment for your child, where they are loved and taught by experts dedicated to the highest standards in the early childhood field. Our teachers know that children are naturally curious. Allow us the opportunity to encourage their curiosity in our secure and educational environment!

Accreditation

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Math

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Spanish

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with the Spanish language. Music, games, children's Spanish literature, and other tools give children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language for vocabulary and conversational development. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers, colors, animals, family, body parts and pets as well as how to get engage conversationally during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo. I love seeing kids learn new things that I've taught them and how their smiles can make any day a great day!

Mr. Dathan graduated from Communication Media Arts High School and then attended National Institute of Technology where he received his degree in Network Administration. He also attended Davenport University, where he received an Associate's Degree in Network Security. He then realized that his true love was working with kids after tutoring troubled children that attended his church. He was a Teacher's Aide for Detroit Public Schools before finding KinderCare where he joined the team in 2005. Dathan is now the Assistant Director, where he has continued to prosper and support our families and staff. Dathan, or Mr. D. as most of the families refer to him, also carries his Child Development Associate Credential. At KinderCare, he finds it amazing how young children absorb information like little sponges. This is a career he puts his heart, soul and mind into.

Share Your Story
If you have a story about your experience at KinderCare, please share your story with us.

Our family is very thankful for Kindercare and the warm, caring teachers that make Kindercare special for young children.

Kindercare is a place where kids get to be kids, experience the joys of childhood play while also learning that school is fun. The teachers are caring, motivated and truly love being with children. Kindercare is a place for young families to grow and share the special years of early childhood within a caring and loving environment.
From the very first moment we walked into the doors five years ago, we felt the bright, warm, and colorful community that Kindercare creates to nurture and help each child grow.
Every family feels welcome each day and it is special to be able to come to Kindercare and be a part of your children's school family. Our family will always be thankful to Kindercare for being a part of our family and we look forward to our children growing with Kindercare.
We feel so thankful to see our kids learning and growing. Our oldest was very prepared for kindergarten. Kindercare instills a natural love of learning while letting kids have all the fun and joy of childhood.

- Mother
There has been a core group of teachers (Ms. Lina, Ms. Shannon, and Ms. Velva) who I see on a daily basis and who always make me feel that they love my sweetheart as much as I do while they are taking such good care of him. Every morning they make a point to say hello to him and I as well as to find out how our night was and what has happened during the morning! They take the time to problem solve with me and to share their insights about anything that they observe at school. It has been so helpful to share ideas and to watch him grow both at home and school. I love that they have helped to create such a welcoming and inviting place for him to come everyday. Even though he can't tell me yet, I see the way his face lights up and he smiles when I talk about going to school and naming the teachers he sees daily! When we walk in the door and they greet him, his face lights up with a big smile and he seems so happy to see them! It warms my heart to see him willingly leave my arms to go to them when I drop him off, knowing that they will take wonderful care of him and give him lots of love and attention! I'm proud to see him waving and blowing kisses when he leaves to any of the staff, which tells me that he feels comfortable at school! I love the daily notes about what he is doing at school on a daily basis as well as the parent-teacher conferences where I can find out what he's been doing and where there are concerns. I appreciate that when I pick him up most days he has had a diaper change recently (or they offer to change him before we go if he's close to being due) and his face is generally wiped up and clean! I also love all of the pictures that you have shared with me about his times with you in the classroom! :)
