Welcome

Welcome to the North Custer KinderCare. We recently received our re-accreditation from the National Accreditation Commission. In case you were wondering what accreditation stands for, it means the center has gone through a rigorous program of self-examination and have learned how to provide the highest quality care possible. At our center, you will find a tenured staff, all of whom have a love for teaching your children. Our staff has over 250 years of combined experience caring for children. What an accomplishment! From our Infant Teachers to our School-Age Teachers, each teacher is well-trained and excited to come to work every day. At KinderCare, we believe children learn through play as well as small- and large-group curriculum activities. We also believe in teaching the whole child intellectually, socially, physically, and emotionally. Each day we strive to prepare all children for kindergarten and beyond by teaching age-appropriate activities in math, phonics, science, reading, art, and many others. We would love to show you our center and introduce you to our staff, so please come in for a tour--we're excited to meet you and your child!

AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited–nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference, and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

Our kids are taking off!

By kindergarten, our kids are testing ahead of their peers. Read all about it.

Accreditation

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Monthly Activities

February's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Feelings + The Farm

This month, infants and toddlers will explore a very important aspect of human development: feelings. Babies are just beginning to develop a sense of who they are in relation to others, while toddlers are learning how to interact with those around them. Feelings are integral to human interaction, so activities will focus on identifying emotions (like happy, sad, and mad). We’ll read books, paint a mural, sing songs, and play games related to emotions and how we express them.

The children in Discovery Preschool will take their learning to the farm! Farms are filled with so many science- and social science-based learning opportunities that children love. They’ll learn all about barns and farming equipment, which animals are raised on a farm, and which crops are grown there, too.

Children 4–5 years old: Occupations and Dinosaurs

The older children in Preschool and Transitional Kindergarten will spend time on two very popular themes: occupations and (roar!) dinosaurs. We’ll focus on learning about jobs that help people, like doctors, and those that inspire, like artists and musicians. As children learn about these occupations, they’ll play dress up, invent things, create charts and graphs, and learn the Spanish words for different jobs. The dinosaur unit gives them a chance to learn more about these fascinating giant creatures, learn about fossils, explore volcanoes, and do math puzzles with pretend dino eggs!

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Cooking

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

Math

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Spanish

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with the Spanish language. Music, games, children's Spanish literature, and other tools give children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language for vocabulary and conversational development. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers, colors, animals, family, body parts and pets as well as how to get engage conversationally during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo. Qué pasa?

Teachers & Staff

Our staff has over 157 years of combined experience caring for and teaching young children! Some of our teachers have degrees, some have a child development associate credential, and others are working toward one or the other. All of our staff members are very friendly, and genuinely care about the children and making their time with us the best that it can be.

Health and Safety

Our center follows the health and safety guidelines written by both our company and the state. Every staff member is certified in CPR and First Aid, and we have an on-site Health and Safety Coordinator who walks all of the outside areas daily prior to allowing the children access outside. Health and safety checks of items in the building are completed daily as well. We perform fire drills with the whole center once a month and disaster drills every three months. We have four separate, secure playgrounds for our children. All gates are locked with "s" clips. While our front door is locked at all times with a key pad, we always keep a staff member in the front of the building to monitor the traffic flow. We ask that our parents not give out the door code and not to allow anyone to follow them through the doors. Through all of these procedures and safety measurements, we ensure that your child is safe at all times.

At KinderCare, what families say about us means a lot. Read below some of the great experiences our families have had with us.

Share Your Story
If you have a story about your experience at KinderCare, please share your story with us.

I cannot imagine my son being at any other child care facility. My son has been here since he was eight weeks old, and is now seven years old. The quality of care that is given at the North Custer KinderCare is way beyond the expectations that any parent can ask for. They have mastered all facets of child care and my child is treated as one of their own.

- Mother

The North Custer KinderCare is by far the best daycare around in my opinion. The moment you walk in the door, you're always greeted by the friendly staff members. It's very organized and immaculate, without the typical daycare pungence. The Director, Ms. Stacy, is always full of smiles and very helpful. The teachers there are very friendly, wonderful with the children, and also build relationships with children and their families. My son adored his teacher, Ms. Jen. He likes it so much that he hates to leave when I have to pick him up. That, to me, says a lot about this center! I highly recommend this location.

- Mother

My children are 12 and 19, and both attended North Custer KinderCare from the Infant program through the School Age program. The time they spent at KinderCare was one of the best investments our family could have ever made. While attending KinderCare, my children not only benefited academically, they learned the value of teamwork, hard work, and hard play. The opportunity for community service provided at KinderCare support the values of caring and compassion we encourage at home. The staff is consistently professional and work hard to provide a positive learning environment that gives children the foundation for a great future. The Center Director is the core of this center. It is so obvious that every decision she makes is for the benefit of the children. My children still go back from time to time and her office is always the first stop. I would highly recommend this KinderCare to anyone looking for a quality educational program!
