Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Private Kindergarten Programs (5 – 6 Years)

As children reach school age, our comprehensive full-day kindergarten program helps them explore, communicate, and create – all in a nurturing, small-class setting. Our team of expert educators has created a unique curriculum of reading, language, arts, math, science, and physical fitness that’s presented in a fun way to encourage a lifelong love of learning. Plus, our program is aligned with local and state elementary school standards, so children will be prepared to confidently enter first grade.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Teachers & Staff

We are all very passionate about providing the best care and education for your child while you are away at work or school. Our teachers have an average tenure of two years at our center. Each day brings new fun activities and learning at our school and we enjoy the opportunity to be a part of your family's day. We love to watch the children grow and learn and so appreciate sharing that with all of our families. We strive for excellence in all that we do here at Farmington Road KinderCare and look forward to having your child in one of our classrooms.

Only where children gather is there any real chance of fun. ~Mignon McLaughlin

Tara earned her degree in English Literature in 2001 from Western Oregon University. After earning her degree, she moved down to Eugene with her husband where she lead the Infant Room. After a year in the infant room, she moved into a managerial position with the Eugene KinderCare. After three years in Eugene, Tara and her husband moved up to Portland. She transferred to the Downtown KinderCare where she maintained a managerial position for four years. After four years, Tara felt it was time to run her own School. She transferred as Center Director to the Clay Street KinderCare and remained there for three and a half years. The commute became a problem for Tara, so she set her sites on a center closer to home. Amazingly, Farmington Road KinderCare had a Center Director position available. She took it immediately and has every intention of staying put for a long time! Tara loves children, loves mentoring and training teachers, and feels challenged everyday by her job. She cannot imagine doing anything else.

Share Your Story
If you have a story about your experience at KinderCare, please share your story with us.

My son has been attending KinderCare since infancy and I have been incredibly impressed with the love, care and affection he has received from everyone at the center. He loves going to "school"! He is now in his third level classroom - witnessing the KinderCare program progress through the growth stages of the kids is amazing. I know that while I am at work my son is being stimulated and learning throughout the day, not simply being entertained and watched. I give much credit for how smart, social and well rounded Jake is to the lessons, relationships and experiences he has been building at the center. I was one of those nervous moms who didn't know if I wanted to go with a large center for care. I can not tell you how thankful I am that we did. Thank you so much Farmington KinderCare for allowing me to have the peace of mind that my son is in very good hands all day long.

- Mother

KinderCare is a very special place for our daughter. She has grown up there starting in the Infant room and is now ten-years-old. She is a special needs child in a wheelchair and KinderCare has done a wonderful job caring for our daughter and including her in activities around the center. All the kids are so great with our daughter and are very protective of her and helpful as well. KinderCare gives her the opportunity to be in a normal social setting with other kids and in turn we feel she touches the lives of others she wouldn't normally and perhaps teaches them acceptance of everyone's differences and challenges of living with disabilities. I think these kids will be more comfortable around disabilities as they grow and it certainly warms our hearts to know that our daughter is well liked, happy and always welcomed with open arms at KinderCare.
