Thank you for choosing Pike Creek KinderCare! We are a well established center, with teachers who have educated our students for as long as 20 years. We enroll students from six weeks of age up to 12 years of age. The center is located directly across the street from Linden Hill Elementary school, in the Red Clay school district. We walk our elementary students to Linden Hill and pick them up in the afternoon. Skyline Middle school & oddessey Charter have a bus stop in front of our center, allowing us to pick up middle school students as well. We look forward to serving your child's educational needs!

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program


The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.


The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.


Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

    1. January's Learning Focus

      Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Light and Dark, plus the Sky and Weather

      Through shadow play, experiments with flashlights, observing the Sun and more, infants and toddlers will enjoy learning about light and dark this month. Infants continue sensory development by looking at contrasting patterns and at objects that are clearly defined by sharp edges and bright colors, while toddlers will build on their understanding of the light and dark concepts with play around daytime and nighttime. The older Discovery Preschool children will turn their attention to the sky as they learn about weather, the Moon, the Sun, and stars.

      Children 4–5 years old: Transportation, Healthy Bodies, and Winter

      For children in the Preschool and Kindergarten classrooms, January is filled with variety! They’ll begin by learning about transportation and studying how things get from “here” to “there.” A few weeks later, the focus will shift to health and bodies, with an emphasis placed on how to make good choices for a growing body. Towards the end of the month, children will be introduced to the transformative nature of the winter season and learn how to dress and take care of themselves when it’s cold outside.

    Erica Wisneiwski, Assistant Director

    Erica was educated at the University of Delaware, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. After working at a daycare facility, she decided to join the KinderCare family at Pike Creek. Erica accepted the position as Assistant Director in November of 2012. She took the position as well as continuing her role as the Prekindergarten teacher. Erica takes great pride in her classroom.

  • Ms. Ada

    Ms. Ada, Infant Classroom

    I enjoy the learning process and development of the infants. Seeing the infant's smiling face, watching their first steps, and having the opportunity to share a child's daily stories with parents make my day!

    Ms. Ada is a retired Registered Nurse, and earned her Degree from a school in Taiwan, where she is from. She has been the Infant teacher at our center for almost 19 years, and shows great pride in what she does. Ms. Ada is inspired to come to work each day knowing that new milestones and memories are being made. She enjoys watching the children grow and learn.

    I love my job, I love seeing the children move around the room on their own. That puts a smile on my face.

    Racquel attended Delaware Tech Community College. She has been working for KinderCare for Three years. She has worked with all ages but is now working with infants.

  • Ms. Tiffany, Toddler

    I love knowing that what I do on a daily basis makes a difference in each child's lives.

    Tiffany worked as a nanny from the age of 16 until she graduated from High School. She attended Delaware Technical Community College with a mojor of Elementary Education. At the age of 17 Tiffany started working at a local athletic club as part of their childcare staff working with ages 6 weeks to 13 years. She worked there for three years eventually becoming a supervisor. Tiffany loves working with Toddlers and teaches them basic fundamentals while also letting them enjoy themselves with diferent activities and crafts.

  • Ms. Violeta, Discovery Preschool (Two year olds)

    Teaching children appreciation is teaching children to be thankful for what they have in life.

    Violeta originally started in the Early Childhood Industry in need of a job. As the years went by, she learned this career is more than a job. She learned that working with children is teaching children their academics and social/emotional skills. Noticing children apply what she has taught them gives her a feeling of accomplishment. She is pursing to further her career and is currently enrolled in a program to receive her CDA. She believes that children learn through playing and she enjoys guiding their learning in this way.

  • Ms. Niky, Discovery Preschool (Two year olds)

    I strive to be the best caregiver and educator I can be in order to ensure the children grow and learn to their fullest potential.

    Niky has been working with early childhood and elementary students since 2005. She did mission work in five different countries working with in orphanages as well as teaching ESL (English as a Second Language). She is currently working towards her bachelors in hopes of acheiving her Administration Certificate in Early Childhood Education. She has been working in the Discovery Preschool room at Pike Creek KinderCare since June and absolutely loves it!

  • Ms. Ebony

    Ms. Ebony, Preschool Classroom

    The thing I love most about my job is greeting all of the children that come into our center in the morning. I also love to see how much the children in my class grow within the year.

    Ms. Ebony has been at our center for eight years as a Toddler teacher and now our Preschool teacher. She opens the center each morning, which allows her to get to know all of families that enter our building. She has an Associate's Degree in Business from Wesley College. Ms. Ebony provides an environment that allows children to explore through play and sensory as well as gets the children familiar with the letters and sounds before entering prekindergarten.

  • Ms. Aimee, School Age and Health and Safety Coordinator

    I love my job because it's a great feeling being able to teach and inspire the kids to achieve their best.

    Aimee has her TECE 1 and is currently enrolled in school taking classes to earn her CDA. Before coming to KinderCare, she worked at an early learning center for three years. At that centr she was mainly in the older infant roomm working with children 9 months to 16 months. She also worked around the building with other age groups at times. Aimee was reffered to kinderCare by a family that is currently enrolled. Since working with KinderCare, Aimee has become the school age teacher and the Health and Safety Coordinator. Aimee workds hard making sure the kids get their homework done and have fun while learning.

    I love working with children because I love watching each child grow over time.

    Joanna has ben working for KinderCare for a year. She attained her Bachelor's Degree is Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education. She taught 1st grade for a year and taught special education at a middle school for five years, and taught two years of summer school. She also worked 18 years of customer service in a local retail store. While in college, she taight ballet, tap, and jazz as well.

  • Ms. Ana, Two's

    I love working with children because every single day is different. I enjoy observing their growth, their curiosity, and the uniqueness of each child. It's definitely fun working with the little ones, I feel that we learn together and I do my best to make sure they are learning through play. It's rewarding and brings a huge smile to my face.

    Ana currently attends Wilmington University to persue her Masters in Elementary Education K-6. She graduated from Maranhn University in Brazil for "Language and Literacy Portuguese/English." Ana has a great level of experience in the educational field. She has 10 years of teaching experience in different settings. She is very involved in the community and she has a group of bilingual storytime for portuguese learners in a public library. Ana enjoys spending time with her busy 3 year old and her husband in her spare time.

    1. December's Learning Focus

      Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Family, Friends, and Things that Go!

      Infants and toddlers will be exploring family and friends, while three-year-olds will focus on things that go vroom! Social and emotional development is foundational to growth and development in babies, so this month, infants and toddlers will participate in activities that reinforce their connection to family while also exploring connections that exist outside their home, such as friends. Meanwhile, their older friends in Discovery Preschool will learn about and play around with things that move (like bicycles, cars, buses, trains, and airplanes), which are all very exciting for little ones as they continue to explore the world outside their homes. 

      Children 4–5 years old: My Country + Tools and Machines

      The four- and five-year-olds continue exploring the world around them by learning about the state and country they live in! They’ll sings songs, play games based on travel, and learn about flags, state foods, and more. Children will also be introduced to cardinal directions (east, west, north, and south) and gain an appreciation for travel and meeting new friends from different places. 

      Children are naturally fascinated with machines and how things work and are put together. So to encourage that fascination, during the second half of this month children will learn about and play around with tools and machines. In addition to building literacy skills by using the names of machines and tools, children will develop math skills by graphing information, counting wheels, and more.

Health and Safety

Your child's safety is our primary concern. Every teacher at this center is First Aid and CPR certified. Parents are given a pass code to enter the building, all other pick-up adults have identification checked before entering the building. Our playgrounds are enclosed by fencing and have locks placed on them.
