Welcome to Leesville KinderCare in Raleigh. Our experts designed our classrooms — and every activity and lesson — to help prepare your child for success in school and beyond. With designated learning centers such as dramatic play and blocks in every classroom, children have the opportunity for rich social play and child-initiated discovery. You’ll also find that our classrooms feature a print-rich environment full of carefully selected materials, written charts and labels, and children’s literature. By helping your child connect spoken words and print, we’re helping develop early literacy and writing skills. Whether your child has first words or first grade on the horizon, we’re excited to show you how everything in our center is designed for learning!

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited–nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference, and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

Our kids are taking off!

By kindergarten, our kids are testing ahead of their peers. Read all about it.

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Teachers & Staff

The teachers and staff at Leesville KinderCare are passionate about educating and nurturing children. Each teacher is excited to come to work each morning and observe the children as they learn and play. The Leesville KinderCare team strives for excellence through continuing education from biannual company professional development trainings to seeking additional college courses or seminars in the education field. At the end of the day, the true key to our teachers' success is their passion for teaching and their love of learning.

Ms. Lauren has been in the early childhood field for 12 years. She has made it her life’s mission to advocate for quality early care for young children. • Ms. Kelsie

    Ms. Kelsie, Prekindergarten Classroom

I love teaching because seeing these moments where something clicks for a child and they are excited about learning is so rewarding.

Ms. Kelsie was born and raised right outside of Raleigh in Fuquay-Varina. She feels that she has been so blessed to be working with children for about eight years, beginning with teaching swim lessons for ages ranging 3-5. Then, she worked as a counselor for the YMCA and eventually began nannying for a few years, right before she was lucky enough to begin here at KinderCare.

She believes her experience, along with her education from Meredith College, as well as her energy and passion for teaching makes her a perfect fit for KinderCare. She believes learning should always be fun and she thinks she brings an enthusiasm that rubs off on the kids in her classroom and keeps them engaged. Seeing their excitement for learning is the most rewarding thing to her.

When she's not at KinderCare, she like to be at the gym on a running trail, or curled up reading a book with her blue tick hound dog, Mason Dixon laying next to her. She also has a great group of friends and family and enjoys spending time with them. She's only been at KinderCare since September of 2016, but it already feels like home and the people and children here feel like family.

    Previous Experience:
Ms. Kelsie has experience teaching swim lessons, as well as working as a before- and after-school counselor fro YMCA, nanny to children ranging from 6 months to 10 years, and a Prekindergarten volunteer at Vintage Church.

April's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Growing Gardens

What better time to explore the beauty and science of flowers and gardens than the spring? Infants’ learning will focus on sensory experiences with different plants and flowers, while toddlers and three-year-olds have the opportunity to learn how to care for plants. We’ll plant seeds in soil, water the plants, observe bugs and discover how they help plants grow, and even plant a butterfly garden outside! We’ll build math skills by counting seeds, learn new vocabulary words related to flowers and plants, and as always, sing songs and read books involving gardens.

Children 4–5 years old: In the Spring + Wild Animals

For children in the Preschool and Transitional Kindergarten Classrooms, April is about exploring all things spring and discovering wild animals! Preschoolers will look for signs of spring outdoors, make mud cakes and count the twigs placed in them, and paint still-life paintings of things related to spring. When our learning turns to wild animals, we’ll learn about the habitats and habits of creatures big and small while maintaining a focus on learning lowercase letters.

The older children in Transitional Kindergarten will focus on project-related work and pick something to work on together. In years past, children have painted a mural, made spring parade floats, painted wild animal masks, and created a model of a wild animal’s habitat. Both of these units focus on expanding the children’s understanding of the natural world around them.

At KinderCare, the safety of our children and the confidence of our parents are points of pride. From daily sign-in to strict parent/guardian identification and single keypad access, we maintain a rigorous standard for safety. At Leesville KinderCare we have an onsite Health and Safety coordinator. Each week Karen performs a check around the center and playgrounds to ensure all materials are clean and working properly. She also conducts monthly fire drill and disaster drills including earthquake, tornado, hurricane and flood as well as maintains classroom first aid kits to ensure they have all the proper materials.

At KinderCare, what families say about us means a lot. Read below some of the great experiences our families have had with us.

Share Your Story
If you have a story about your experience at KinderCare, please share your story with us.

Our two children attend KinderCare. One is two and a half years old and one is eight months old. They have attended the center on Leesville Road and we have been very pleased with our experience. The staff have been nurturing and our children have had consistent teachers. The teachers take the time to know our children and make them feel loved and welcome every day. The teachers have been at the scool and our kids have had some of the same teachers, both with positive interactions. There is never a question or a worry that our kids are not only safe but loved while they are at the center. When our child has had behaviors that need to be addressed it is done in a positive way that fosters positive learning for our child. In the same vein when I have any questions or concerns the center management is readily available and addresses them effectively. Our son learns things at school and demonstrates this knowledge at home. He says things at home that we did not teach him. We confidently recommend this center to other parents.

- Mother

My child is in the Pre-K class and she is excited to come to school everyday. The teachers are always welcoming her when she walks through the doors. Her classroom is place where she can learn and discover new and exciting things. The teachers are full of excitement and they care about each child. She learns something new each day and we are happy to have her in a place that cares about her education.

- Mother

My child has been attending Kindercare Leesville for a little over 10 months and we love it! Each morning as we walk in we are greeted by everyone by name and they all have bright and inviting smiles. My childs teacher is always available to answer any questions that I have and she is so excited to see Shawn when he walks through the door. My child is learning so much and every evening when he comes home he is excited to tell me all about his day with Ms Lori. The Director is always involved in the classrooms and you can tell when you walk through the door that the teachers love what they do. We are very happy with Kindercare and appreciate all of the love and care that we receive from the staff.
