Oakton KinderCare is a full center. Our maximum capacity is 128 and we are not far from having a full building. This allows us to have a large staff family. We have 20 staff members on board with us and are always growing. Our staff comes from many different places and cultures and we are proud to have such a diverse group!
Wendy Wortman, Center Director
Bio:
Wendy has been a part of the Oakton KinderCare family since 2000. Starting out as an Assistant Teacher in the two year old classroom, Wendy has grown within her building to her current position as the Center Director. She is caring, thoughtful and always has a smile. Wendy is always working hard whether shes n the office, helping in the kitchen or guiding teachers with classroom ideas. Wendy is a hard working Center Director and a great role model for our staff.
Previous Experience:
Wendy has taught Vacation Bible School during the summer.

Katie Rubach, Assistant Director
Bio:
Katie has been with Oakton KinderCare since February 2012 but has been working in the childcare field since high school. She joined our family as our third in charge, Program Specialist, and was promoted to her current position of Assistant Director. Katie is always willing to help the team in any way possible and is great at communicating with families.
Previous Experience:
Before becoming our Assistant Director, Katie was our Program Specialist. Prior to joining KinderCare Katie worked as a summer camp counselor, recreation supervisor, child care teacher and junior kindergarten teacher.

Ms. Emma, Infant Classroom
Bio:
Ms. Enma has working in the Oakton KinderCare building for 12 years. She started off as a cook, transitioned to a floater, to finally making her home in the infant room. Being able to build a relationship with those infants and their families is really important to her as a teacher.

Bio:
Ms. Nazanin has been an great part of our KinderCare family. She is always on time and ready to work. She is willing to be in any room if needed. The parents know their children are in good care when Ms. Nazanin is in the room. She is loving and caring to the children and knows what they all need!

Ms. Nazanin spent seven years working at Baby Toddler Preschool.

In the year Mr. Andrew has been with us, he has been a great asset! He is willing to help in all rooms with all age groups. He also has a great creative outlook. Ms. Debbie joined the KinderCare family in 2008 and is a great asset to our family. As our Kindergarten Readiness teacher, she enhances her lessons to better prepare the children for Kindergarten! Ms. Debbie is our resident scientist and chef. Ms. Debbie creates great activities to allow the children to actively learn science and cooking concepts.

Bio:
Ms. Ivette is a student at George Mason University finishing up her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She plans on attending graduate school at GMU as well. She will continue her education inside and outside the classroom as long as she can. Ms. Ivette loves her job and the children to the moon and back.

Bio:
Ms. Heather joined the Oakton KinderCare center in January. She is currently working on completing her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at George Mason University. She plans to continue her studies in the summer of 2013 with her Master's Degree in Elementary Curriculum. Ms. Heather loves working with children and brings positive energy and a smile to her classroom everyday!

Ms. Peggy, School Age Classroom
Bio:
Ms. Peggy has worked at KinderCare for 12 years. She attended the University of Connecticut and majored in Child Development. Her classroom is the school age room, and she is also one of our bus drivers. Peggy ensures the safety of all children when they are going to and from school along with traveling on field trips during the summer.
Previous Experience:
Ms. Peggy has worked in other centers and as a nanny.
