Welcome

Early education makes all the difference. Our programs offer a strong foundation in six key areas of development, with a focus placed on allowing the children to explore the world around them, developing brain power, providing a healthy balance between independent and structured play and learning, and building essential school-readiness skills.  We invite you to come in and visit anytime--we would be happy to answer all of your questions.

Monthly Activities

March's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Amazing Animals

Animals really are amazing, and this month the children in the Infant and Toddler Classrooms are learning all about them. We’ll read about both domestic and wild animals and base our activities and play around them as well. Besides singing songs, crafting, and talking about different animals, we’ll also bring in pictures of our pets, make our own animal sounds and movements, and incorporate animals into cognitive, literacy, and mathematic learning appropriate for each age group. For example, the older children in Discovery Preschool will count goldfish crackers or spots on a dog, while the littlest ones will keep developing their senses by sorting and playing with stuffed animals that have different kinds of pretend fur. This is a very sweet and fun unit for children in each class!

Children 4–5 years old: The Sky and Weather + My Imagination

The four- and five-year-olds will turn their attention to the sky and explore the bounds of their own imaginations this month. Children will learn how clouds and different kinds of weather are created, and do fun theme-related activities like create whipped-topping storm clouds or pretend to be a weather reporter. Our Transitional Kindergarten class will take their learning even farther by doing basic research into how rainbows are formed. The second half of the month will give children a big chance to express themselves through art, music, and drama. We’ll use classic stories like The Three Little Pigs to spark children’s creativity and see where their imaginations lead. As always, we weave our themes into literacy and math activities, and place a focus on building both English and Spanish vocabulary.

Come get a sneak peek of summer at KinderCare during our Open House event, from April 10th – 14th.

At KinderCare, our summer adventures are designed for learning and fun. We love taking our experiments outside, having special guests visit our centers, and even exploring our senses on walks outside or by rolling around in the cool grass. We can’t wait to meet you and show you what makes our centers special and why we would love to spend our summer with you!

Our Programs

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Cooking

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

Math

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Teachers & Staff

The teachers and staff at Clear Lake KinderCare welcome you to our school. We are all very passionate about providing the best care and education for children while their parents are away at work or school. Each day brings new fun activities and learning at our school, and we enjoy the opportunity to be a part of your family's day. We love to watch the children grow and learn, and so appreciate sharing that with all of our families. We strive for excellence in all that we do here at KinderCare and look forward to having your child in one of our classrooms.

    Ms. Blanca, Prekindergarten Classroom

Ms. Blanca's goal is to provide a literacy-rich classroom with plenty of opportunities for children to explore books and writing. As a leader in early childhood education, KinderCare knows that one of the best predictors of a successful reader is the amount of time a child spends reading--so Ms. Blanca uses daily journal activities to practice writing skills; helps foster early reading skills by connecting sounds to letters through picture and word collages; teaches basic sight words in fun and engaging ways; and encourages the development of phonemic awareness through literacy-based games, books, and puzzles. Children in her class build brain power while making new friends and learning valuable social skills to set them up for success in elementary school.

Health and Safety

At Clear Lake KinderCare, your child's safety is one of our top priorities. Not only are all of our outside perimeter doors locked to ensure security, but all of our playgrounds are fenced. In addition, the front door of the building has a coded entry where only authorized family members will be given the code to enter. Otherwise, a door bell is available for visitors who will be greeted by a member of our management team. At KinderCare, we conduct monthly fire drills and quarterly severe weather drills. We also ensure that all staff member's First Aid and CPR certificates are up to date.

At KinderCare, what families say about us means a lot. Read below some of the great experiences our families have had with us.

If you have a story about your experience at KinderCare, please share your story with us.

My son has been enrolled in Clear Lake KinderCare since he was two months old. As a first-time mom, I was very hesitant about leaving my young son in the care of others. But almost immediately the staff was welcoming, compassionate, and very attentive to me. I realized then that my child would receive the same level of care. Now, going on three years later, he is thriving and the Directors and Teachers continue to display an active interest in my child’s well-being and education. The Directors are always open, approachable, and keep parents involved and abreast of everything that goes on in the center. My son’s Teachers in the Toddler Classroom are exceptional! He has learned so much for only being two and half years old! They not only use a prescribed curriculum, but are also creative and imaginative, and introduce new and exciting ways to learn things. I am amazed at how much my son receives the information better and retains it longer. Overall, I have been thoroughly satisfied and impressed with the level of dedication, involvement, and interest of every staff member toward the growth of all of the children. And I am very excited and looking forward to the next class level, where I know he will continue to receive the same “top-notch” teaching that is displayed throughout the entire center.

- Mother

Our son has thrived at Clear Lake KinderCare! I have found the staff to be caring, knowledgeable, patient, and committed to the well-being of each child. Within one week of attending this center, I saw my child's self-esteem and independence skills grow beyond expectations. He also learns new things every day that he comes home and shares with me. After just one week of going to KinderCare, his behavior at home also improved dramatically. He is more independent, has better manners, has fewer tantrums, and is overall happier thanks to the staff at KinderCare!

- Mother

The staff are wonderful! They go above and beyond every single day. During both drop-off and pick-up, they make a point to greet the boys and always acknowledge their needs. We couldn't ask for a better center!
