Monica loves working with children and cannot see herself doing anything else! She is married and has a daughter attending the center. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Northern Illinois University in 2003. She has been working in the Early Childhood field since high school. She has been in management at a child care center for the last 7 years. She started at Center Street in March 2014. Monica is very excited to be here to share her many talents with the Grayslake community,
Monica has 9 years experience in the Early Chilhood Education field, much of it spent in a management position.

Elyse grew up in Mundelein, Illinois. During high school, Elyse was involved in just about everything she could, including track, cross-country, color guard, band, and national honor society. After graduating from Mundelein High School in 2006, she went to the University of Iowa to study Psychology. Elyse has always loved working with children, and is fascinated by how a child's mind works. She decided to take as many child related and educational psychology classes that her school offered. After graduating with her Bachelor of Science Degree, Elyse moved back home and took a position teaching two-year-old children. After two years, she decided to pursue a position in childcare management, and this led her to the KinderCare in Grayslake. She is currently attending The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, working towards her Master's degree in Behavioral Psychology.
Ms. Elyse has taught children from infancy through ten over the last 10 years of her career.

Ms. Raquel graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 2001. After teaching High School English for four years, she relocated to Illinois, and found her way to KinderCare. Ms. Raquel has had many roles with KinderCare, including toddler teacher, Program Specialist, Center Director and now Learning Adventures Specialist. She loves interacting with all age groups at the center, but she especially loves teaching the phonics program. Hearing children read their first words is Ms. Raquel's passion, and she feels so blessed to share in that special moment.
Ms. Raquel has experience as a high school teacher, center director, and as a program specialist.

Ms. Jeanette is married and has three wonderful children. She previously lived in the Philippines and worked as a preschool teacher for three to four year old children at the Cambridge Child Development Center. In 2004, her family moved back to the U.S., and she worked again as a teacher for young children in Naperville. Ms. Jeanette's family moved to Grayslake, Illinois, and she found KinderCare. Ms. Jeanette enjoys spending quality time with her family, watching movies together and enjoying our favorite Chinese foods. She loves coming to work each and every day, as the children's smiles brighten each and every day.
Ms. Jeanette has taught children from infancy to school age during her career in early childhood.

During her time at KinderCare, Ms. Kaitlyn has been responsible for lead teacher duties in the toddler room. She has also experiences the different age groups at the center by helping in other rooms. In her classroom, she focuses on provding the children with lessons that are both developmentally appropriate and sufficiently challenging. By giving her toddlers educational tasks that foster self-learning, she finds that the children achieve a higher rate of mastery in their learning. Art and music (both singing and dancing) are also a critical aspect of Ms. Kaitlyn's teaching approach. These activities allow the children to grow through creativity, self-expression, and movement.
Ms.Kaitlyn received her Bachelors of Arts in Creative Nonfiction Writing from Columbia College Chicago in 2012, and is currently pursuing her Masters of Arts in Teaching from Dominican University.
Ms. Kaitlyn's experience is babysitting, working as an Assistant Coordinator at Michael's, and PetsHotel Pet Care Specialist.
After graduating from High School in 2004, Ms. Kristen started working at KinderCare because of her genuine love for children. She started in the Infant classroom, and worked there for several years. From there, Ms. Kristen moved to the toddler classrooms. She decided to further her education and obtain my Child Development Associate's credential and took a position as the lead teacher in the Discovery Preschool classroom. In 2007, Ms. Kristen was blessed to become a mother to her own son Austin and is expecting her second child, Cody, in April 2014.
Ms. Kristen has had the wonderful experience of teaching children from infancy to preschool during her career with children.

Ms. Jill started working at a learning center at the age of 18, as an assistant teacher in the 3 year old room. She worked her way up to lead teacher before leaving after over 6 years to finish her Bachelors in Human Services. Throughout the years, Ms. Jill has earned her substitute teaching certificate as well as her paraprofessional certificate. She is the very proud mother of her 9 year old son and is expecting her second child, a boy, in August 2014.
Ms. Jill has 6 years experience as a lead Teacher at a learning center, over 1 year tutoring at a tutoring center, substitute teaching, and paraprofessional work.

Ms. Channell graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2010 with her degree in Elementary Education. She has been a part of the KinderCare family for almost 4 years. It brings her great joy to be able to teach and impact the lives of children everyday. Ms. Channell loves to teach hands-on activities in her classroom because it gets her whole class involved in the learning experience. She also enjoys adding her own twist to each lesson to ensure her students are learning, but having fun at the same time!
Ms. Channell's experience is tutoring, student teaching in a 5th Grade setting, and working with various age groups in the elementary school setting.
Ms. Irma has a big heart and lots of love to give the children here at KinderCare. Ms. Irma is our Kindergarten Prep teacher. All the children absolutely love Ms. Irma and her caring personality. When Ms. Irma is not at KinderCare, she is taking care of her adorable son Sammy, who also loves to be part of our toddler room!
Irma babysat/nanny for a few years. She left the field and went into the business world. She knew her love and skills were with children so Irma found her way to her home at KinderCare!
