Welcome

Welcome to Fishers Landing KinderCare! We look forward to meeting you and your family to show you our curriculum and enrichment programs. We are confident that you will love our friendly, experienced, educated, and knowledgeable educators who are excited about teaching.

As one of the largest KinderCare facilities, we have several amenities. Large classrooms give children plenty of room to wiggle, learn, and play. With designated learning centers such as dramatic play and blocks in every classroom, children have opportunities for rich social play and child-initiated discovery. Our classrooms are print-rich environments, full of carefully selected materials, charts, labels, and children’s literature. By helping your child connect spoken words to print, we are helping to develop early literacy and writing skills.

We feature three age-appropriate playgrounds and a child-size basketball court for children to move their muscles and practice motor skills. The playgrounds include multiple chalkboards for outdoor writing activities and a vibrant garden for learning about life science. In addition, we have two gross motor rooms, so children are still able to participate in large movement activities during inclement weather.

Our expertly designed program is designed to help prepare your child for success in school and beyond. Whether your child has first words or first grade on the horizon, we are excited to show you how everything in our center is designed for learning!

AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited–nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference, and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

By kindergarten, our kids are testing ahead of their peers. Read all about it.

Accreditation

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Monthly Activities

July's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: What’s the Weather and Wonderful Water
This month we go all natural as infants and toddlers are introduced to the weather and children in Discovery Preschool experiment and have fun with water. Sensory adventures will continue for infants as they explore playing with colored water and experiment with how pinwheels and scarves move in the wind. Meanwhile, toddlers will use musical instruments to create the sound of rain and will connect their learning to the world as they role-play different weather scenarios, such as a warm summer day at the beach and a cold, snowy winter day. In Discovery Preschool, children will be learning about different bodies of water as well as how people use water in their everyday lives.

Children 4 to 5 years old: Spectacular Science and All About Books
In the first two weeks of this month, we take older children on a scientific journey of discovery to learn more about the natural world before turning the focus to the amazing world of books! Preschoolers will learn about states of matter, force, motion, and magnetism; children in Pre-K will learn about natural formations like rivers, mountains, and deserts; and kindergarteners will discover the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling. When we turn to books, children will learn about the different parts of books, explore the roles of author and illustrator, and learn what makes a book fiction or nonfiction.

November's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Foods and Flavors
This month infants, toddlers, and the little ones in Discovery Preschool will be exploring foods and flavors! It’s never too early to expose children to healthy food—even babies who aren’t eating solids yet. All children will explore, read about, play with, and create around different foods, but each age group will have a different focus. Infants will practice sensory exploration and create their own pretend soup, toddlers will count and measure food items, and the children in Discovery Preschool will learn about the different food groups—including a pretend farmers market.

Children 4–5 years old: Farms and Community
The older children will focus on learning first about farms, and then their community! Farms are filled with so many science- and social science-based learning opportunities for children. Children will learn all about barns and farming equipment, which animals are raised on a farm, and which crops are grown. They’ll also focus on their own communities and learn all about the different kinds of places that exist, the people who live there, and the jobs that those people do.

December's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Family, Friends, and Things that Go!
Infants and toddlers will be exploring family and friends, while three-year-olds will focus on things that go vroom! Social and emotional development is foundational to growth and development in babies, so this month, infants and toddlers will participate in activities that reinforce their connection to family while also exploring connections that exist outside their home, such as friends. Meanwhile, their older friends in Discovery Preschool will learn about and play around with things that move (like bicycles, cars, buses, trains, and airplanes), which are all very exciting for little ones as they continue to explore the world outside their homes.

Children 4–5 years old: My Country + Tools and Machines
The four- and five-year-olds continue exploring the world around them by learning about the state and country they live in! They’ll sings songs, play games based on travel, and learn about flags, state foods, and more. Children will also be introduced to cardinal directions (east, west, north, and south) and gain an appreciation for travel and meeting new friends from different places. Children are naturally fascinated with machines and how things work and are put together. So to encourage that fascination, during the second half of this month children will learn about and play around with tools and machines. In addition to building literacy skills by using the names of machines and tools, children will develop math skills by graphing information, counting wheels, and more.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Interactive Kindergarten (5 - 6 Years)

A full-day interactive Kindergarten program that utilizes new curriculum with an interactive smart board making first grade readiness a priority.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Math

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Spanish

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with the Spanish language. Music, games, children's Spanish literature, and other tools give children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language for vocabulary and conversational development. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers, colors, animals, family, body parts and pets as well as how to get engage conversationally during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo. I love the service that KinderCare provides for my child. I feel safe and at ease knowing my child is in great care. She loves the staff, center and room she is in. When I drop my daughter off I know she is happy and getting the best care.

- Mother

Our daughter has been in the program since she was 6 weeks old. As new parents we were so worried about leaving our baby that young. The love our baby received while at KinderCare was second to none. The teachers truly care about our daughter and our family. We were able to work with the teachers as our daughter grew and moved through bottles, cereal, baby food and eventually table food. The teachers were so great about getting our daughter moving. They gave her plenty of time to move her muscles, so her development was on track. They even did some painting and activities with our little princess and took pictures for us to see. We was so impressed that they were more than just a daycare even in the infant room and did activities with the baby. We often picked up while they read a book with her or simply playing on the floor with the kids. It has been clear from the beginning that every infant teacher loved the babies.

She has recently moved to the toddler room. Again, we were nervous about the transition, because there are so many changes from infant to toddlerhood. But again our expectations were far exceeded. The routine of the toddler room helped get our daughter into wonderful sleeping habits. She has become such an independent girl. She learns something new everyday from her new teachers, Ms Kate and Ms Nickie. Every day she is learning new words and trying her best to say them. She is always so excited to continue the learning she has started at school. We had no idea how much a toddler could soak up, but Ms Kate is always striving and teaching her new things. She has been an absolutely amazing teacher and genuinely cares about our daughter. This is the place our daughter started at 6 weeks old and it will be the care she is still receiving as she moves to the public school system and beyond.

- Daddy & Mommy

We started coming to KinderCare 2 years ago when our son had just turned 3 years old, and we recently moved to the area from the southside of Indianapolis. We visited other centers, but we knew right away that KinderCare was right for our family. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and our son joined right in with the the classroom activities during our inital visit. He is always excited to get to come and play with his friends and he absolutely loves all of his teachers! During the summer, there is always something fun going on for the kids and the curriculum is year round. KinderCare has been a life saver for us in preparing our son for Kindergarten. We know without a doubt that he is ready. We cannot imagine going anywhere else.

- Mom and Dad

My family began our journey with KinderCare in 2006 and almost 10 years later we are still here and loving every minute of it.  From the moment our son entered the infant room we felt a strong bond building with the teachers who cared for him everyday.  They have so much love to offer and the way they eased our nerves with the first time drops off was beyond amazing.  There were no feelings of regret about my wife returning to the workforce because we knew that the love and care he would be receiving was top notch.  We have a watched him grow from a little 3 month old into a 9 year old boy with so much enthusiasm to learn.  As we transitioned from room to room we made lasting relationships with new teachers and new parents.  The Director and Assistant Director are like a second family to us and we can count on them almost night and day!!  What's even more impressive about this center is bringing our infant daughter into the same room almost 5 years later and being greeted by the SAME teachers our son had...you cannot find that in every center.  While new teachers have come on board we have been lucky to see a lot of the same faces and remain exceptionally close to those who have moved on.

There really are not enough positive things I can say about the center at Fishers Landing Dr...they have far exceeded my families expectations for early childhood education!!!

We are regularly surprised and impressed with the new things our preschooler learns at KinderCare.
