Tori and her husband enrolled their oldest child in 2007 here and quickly fell in love with the KinderCare family. After teaching special education in the Edwardsville school district for 8 1/2 years, Tori took the leap and joined the KinderCare staff as a Prekindergarten teacher. Her enthusiasm for early learning and family connections brings excitement to the center in her role as our Assistant Center Director.
Prior to joining KinderCare, Tori worked as a Special Education Teacher in the Public School District.
"I feel that in childcare one has to follow the phrase, 'don't worry, be happy!"
After completing her degree in Early Childhood Education and working at another childcare center, Ms.Sara decided to join the KinderCare family. Ms. Sara loves to work with the toddlers, she feels that they learn and grow so much each day that they are in her care. Ms. Sara also loves to see the happy faces on the children and that is one of the main reasons that she comes to work each day. Also she feels that it is very rewarding to know that she can make a difference in a child's life.
Ms. Sara has childcare experience from another center which she brought to KinderCare.
"My goal is to ignite a love for learning in every child I am privileged to have in class."
I came to KinderCare as a student teacher. I fell in love with the families, children and the staff. Upon graduation, I was fired as a full time teacher. I love thinking outside the box and creating projects in the classroom that explore the love for learning. KinderCare is my home!!!!
"I love watching as a child finally "gets it" when they have been trying to accomplish something. Seeing their eyes light up and the excitement is contagious."
Ms. Jeannie loves coming to work because she loves all of the hugs and smiles that she receives. Plus she loves the fact that she gets paid to play. Ms. Jeannie joined the KinderCare family in 2012 as the lead Preschool Teacher after moving to Illinois from New Mexico. She has been in the early childhood field for the last 18 years.
Ms. Jeannie previously worked for Discovery Childcare Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico, as the threes and fours Lead Teacher.
"A person's a person, no matter how small."
After Ms. Melissa completed her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, she worked at another childcare facility before joining KinderCare in 2005. Not only is she the Catch the Wave teacher, she is also a prekindergarten teacher during the school-year. Ms. Melissa loves seeing the children's faces when they accomplish a new skill. Ms. Melissa also feels that everyday is a new and exciting adventure that is waiting for her.
Prior to working for KinderCare Ms. Melissa was a teacher at Kaleidoscope of Kids in Collinsville.
"I love the moment a child learns a new concept. They are so proud and excited to show me."
Ms. Jerri worked at two other childcare centers before joining the KinderCare family in 2007. While completing her degree and also working at KinderCare at the same time, she felt that she has been given a great opportunity to teach. She feels that every time that she walks in to her classroom, all the children give her a bright smile and all of the children are so happy to see her!
"You have to remember to always try, it is the only way to know."
Ms. Wendy has worn many different hats over the years at KinderCare. She has been a Director, Assistant Director, Classroom teacher, a cook and is now the Phonics and Math Learning Adventures Instructor. Ms. Wendy feels that everyone should try their best because without trying, you would never know what you can do!
After finishing her degree in Early Childhood Education, Ms. Wendy worked at another child care center and a home day care before she joined the KinderCare family in 1992.
