Welcome

Welcome to Spring Valley Road KinderCare. We are very excited to meet with you and your family. We believe in developing the whole child with an emphasis on assisting your child's growth with their social, emotional, cognitive and physical development. Our experts designed our classrooms - and every activity and lesson - to help prepare your child for success in school and beyond. Our classrooms feature a print-rich environment full of carefully selected materials. By helping your child connect spoken words and print, we're helping develop early literacy and writing skills. At Spring Valley Road KinderCare, we believe it takes a village to raise a child and our parents consider us to be an extension of their families. Your child will not only have a safe, secure and stimulating environment to learn in, but will also have support from a team of child development experts, who have a true passion for educating children. Whether your child has first words or first grade on the horizon, we're excited to show you how everything in our center is designed for learning.

Monthly Activities

February's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Feelings + The Farm

This month, infants and toddlers will explore a very important aspect of human development: feelings. Babies are just beginning to develop a sense of who they are in relation to others, while toddlers are learning how to interact with those around them. Feelings are integral to human interaction, so activities will focus on identifying emotions (like happy, sad, and mad). We’ll read books, paint a mural, sing songs, and play games related to emotions and how we express them.

The children in Discovery Preschool will take their learning to the farm! Farms are filled with so many science- and social science-based learning opportunities that children love. They’ll learn all about barns and farming equipment, which animals are raised on a farm, and which crops are grown there, too.

Children 4–5 years old: Occupations and Dinosaurs

The older children in Preschool and Transitional Kindergarten will spend time on two very popular themes: occupations and (roar!) dinosaurs. We’ll focus on learning about jobs that help people, like doctors, and those that inspire, like artists and musicians. As children learn about these occupations, they’ll play dress up, invent things, create charts and graphs, and learn the Spanish words for different jobs. The dinosaur unit gives them a chance to learn more about these fascinating giant creatures, learn about fossils, explore volcanoes, and do math puzzles with pretend dino eggs!

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Cooking

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

Math

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Spanish

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with the Spanish language. Music, games, children's Spanish literature, and other tools give children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language for vocabulary and conversational development. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers, colors, animals, family, body parts and pets as well as how to get engage conversationally during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo. I love seeing the children progress through the year. Watching children learn something new is the most rewarding aspect of my job, whether it's learning how to tie a shoelace or read a new word. As long as they have someone who believes in them they will go far. "Children are like wet cement whatever falls on them makes an impression." -Haim Ginott (Child Psychologist)

Carrie began her journey with KinderCare in May 2011. Throughout her time at KinderCare, she has been at four wonderful centers! She has had the pleasure of being a preschool three year old teacher, pre kindergarten teacher, traditional kindergarten teacher, school age teacher, health and safety coordinator and assistant director. Before moving to Texas in December 2010, she taught Kindergarten in Colorado.   Carrie has a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts with an emphasis on Elementary Education.

The highlights of her days are always when she walks into a classroom and sees the love of learning in the children’s eye and being able to foster the relationships with families and co workers. I love working for KinderCare and inspiring the minds of the children around me. I cannot wait  to look back and see all the relationships and meaningful moments that have happened.

Outside of KinderCare, she is an active member of her church choir and is a two year old Sunday School teacher! Besides music and teaching she loves traveling with her family. Their dream vacation would be to someday see Italy.

My daughter attends KinderCare and we are very happy with the center. My daughter is happy and enjoys the staff and other children. We are very pleased with the teachers and other staff as well. They are always pleasant and the classrooms are very organized and the children are always well behaved at the center. Celeste and staff do a wonderful job with the children. Thank you!

- Father

First and foremost, I just want to say this daycare is AWESOME and has been a blessing to me and my family. My oldest son has been there since he was 6 months old and he is now 7, and I have a 15 month old attending there, that has also been there since he was 6 months old, and I couldn't be happier. The staff there are very attentive, nourishing, and knowledgeable and that is credited to the new Director and Asst Director that has been put in place , and has made some major POSITIVE changes. There has never been a time that my husband and I have walked in, and someone wasn't greeting us through the door. Also, if I have any concerns, they take care of it right then and there to the best of their abilities. They have a lot more activities for the children now, on top of the daily curriculum, so it's not just baby sitting, but rather a fun, comfortable, learning environment. As for comfort-ability, parents are welcomed and encouraged to t stop by or call whenever you feel like checking up on your kiddo, and that shows that they have nothing to hide and are trying to do their best at all times. The teachers there are seriously dedicated and truly wants to make that center a place that is safe and fun for all children. If you are looking for a daycare , I want to encourage you to please give them a call to set up a tour, and I'm sure you won't turn back. Thanks everyone at that KinderCare that has made two working parents comfortable with leaving our children in your hands!

- Mother

My 19 month old son has been attending Kindercare Spring Valley for 3 months now and he loves it! I enrolled him here after having some issues with his prior daycare, and since he's been here I've seen a huge difference in him. He's always happy when I pick him up every evening and he really enjoys the time he spends here. The teachers and staff are wonderful and I am very pleased with the care my son is receiving. Thank you all for the warmth and kindness you have shown to my family. It's truly appreciated!

- Mother

Normally I wouldn't post a review unless it's a bad one, but I truly gotta say how much I love this daycare center. The director is amazing. All the teachers and workers are very involved with my son and they all treat him like he is one of their own. I feel very good about the choice I made when I put him here over a year ago.

- Mother

I highly recommend this daycare to everyone. I am a first time mom having to pick a daycare for my little girl at 2 months old. It was very hard for me to find a place that I trusted to care for my child. The people that work her have made this transition very easy for me. By the second day , all the workers recognized me even the director , Sherri. One day i went in there and Sherri was back in the infant room feeding one of the babies. That truly made me see that this is not just a job to her. All these kids are hers. I truly believe they care for my baby just like I do. The assistant director, Kari, is the same way. They are very interactive with all the ages. I witness this every time I go in there. The workers actually play with all kids. I went in there one day and one lady had 3 toddlers climbing all over playing with them. My little girl is so happy every time I pick her up. She is always clean and well cared for. All the workers I have met are very polite, respectful, and wonderful with all the kids. I never would have been able to go back to work if I hadn't found this daycare. I am able to work and not worry about my little girl. I recommend this facility to everyone. It has given me peace of mind. Thank you Sherri, Kari, and all the workers for caring for my baby girl!

- Mother

It was a hassle to find a good day care for my two month old baby. I came across this Kinder Care, which was very close to my house and I have to say I am thankful to God for them. My son is always very excited to go to daycare (he's now 5 months old) and, when I pick him up, he's always happy. The girls over there are amazing and caring. The administrative team is also a blessing; always on top of everything.
