As children reach school age, our comprehensive full-day kindergarten program helps them explore, communicate and create – all in a nurturing, small-class setting. Centers offering kindergarten choose from two different curriculum programs that offer reading, language arts, math, science, and physical fitness presented in a fun way to encourage a lifelong love of learning.

Plus, our programs are aligned with local and state elementary school standards so children will be prepared to confidently enter first grade.

Your Kindergartner’s day

Open to 8:15 a.m.	Arrival & Breakfast: Children participate in quiet activities and eat breakfast. As children finish breakfast, they can visit learning centers or participate in individual or small-group activities until most children have arrived or are finished eating.
8:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.	Transition
8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.	Morning Meeting: Teachers will take attendance, communicate the daily calendar, involve children in music, and introduce the day’s activities.
9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.	Recess: Children select from a variety of outdoor activities.
9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.	Language Arts
10:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.	Snack
10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.	Mathematics
11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.	Story Time
11:45 a.m. to 12 p.m.	Journaling
12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.	Lunch: Children wash hands, help set the tables, and prepare and eat lunch.
12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.	Self-directed activities
1:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.	Health and Physical Education
1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.	Science and Social Studies
2:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.	Afternoon Meeting: Teachers lead show and tell, play music, and review the day’s activities.
3:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.	Departure (if applicable), snack and afterschool program
