Jen: "It used to be a week extra at home with the kids was just like: ‘What are we going to do!? We've got to scramble and get childcare!' Now, it’s like the world ended because ... (I'm sure everybody has their story) but it was just the dawning realization that—they're not going back.

It got way busier at work. There was no slow, there was no dip—it was the exact opposite. Everything got ramped up at the exact same moment that our kids didn't have anywhere to go.”

Lee: "I think you and I strengthened our relationship through the adversity of this. We have more flexibility than a lot of folks have, and it was hard even for us. There were some silver linings that were kind of a surprise."

“They've done a really nice job with the learning support—it’s complicated with all these kids doing virtual learning on their own schedules and their own curriculums. With COVID safety too—they've been proactive and really smart about it.”

Lee: "Having the kids here in the house for six months was sweeter than I thought it was going to be. And things were really challenging—just managing the logistics, what was the right amount of risk, and some disruption at work.

Jen: "When COVID hit, we decided to try to do the home thing—until it broke us. Then we both decided, safety wise, we were willing to try to get some help outside of the house. A week before the kids were supposed to start at this other place, KinderCare called and said: ‘We have a spot for them.'”

Lee: “I think it's pretty heroic what they're doing right now. We know what it's like when the kids come home stressed or if things aren't quite right. They've just come home energized and happy, and they leave the house in the morning happy to go—I mean that's the proof in it. It's a huge relief.

There're enough other things stressing us out, having KinderCare step in the way they have has just been huge. They saved our bacon.”

Jen: "KinderCare just takes all the stress out of it. Our lives and marriage got so much better when we got our kids into KinderCare.”
