SC 2014 Dig Ancient Egypt Header

Pyramids, mummies, and pharaohs are just a few of the wonders of Ancient Egypt that children will learn about in this program. Some of the many hands-on activities include building pyramid shapes with blocks and sugar cubes, creating royal headdresses and scepters, going on an archaeological dig, and helping prepare and sample some of the foods children in Ancient Egypt may have eaten long ago. Anyone for a game of “Don’t Wake the Sphinx”?

Traveling back in time to Ancient Egypt will give glimpses of this amazing civilization from the past. During their travels, children will investigate pyramids and learn about mummies, create cartouches using ancient hieroglyphs, make their own Ancient Egyptian jewelry, and even sample some of the foods Ancient Egyptians would have feasted on so many years ago.
