Exploration and creativity are at the center of this program about art. Activities include making mosaics from beans and seeds and creating paintings in the pointillist style using sequins and paint-covered cotton balls. Children will also have opportunities to experiment with shapes, lines, and colors as they work to fill their artists’ portfolios with masterpieces.
Here’s a program budding artists are sure to enjoy. During this two-week program, children will learn about several famous artists and the techniques those artists are known for, as well as the basics of composition, including line, color, and texture. By the end of the program, children will have portfolios of original artwork that include self-portraits, still lifes, collages, and sculptures suitable for display.
