Welcome

Welcome to our Nationally Accredited Yukon, Oklahoma KinderCare! Our school is located off of I-40 and Mustang Road next to CVS and across from Burger King! Our tenured and educated Teachers take pride in ensuring your child is immersed in a loving and nurturing environment that fosters the love of learning.

We are more than just a daycare and/or child care center; we are a School that has been nationally recognized for providing exceptional curriculum that is designed to meet each child's individual needs.  According to new data, Kindergarten students who experience our high quality early childhood education were on average four months ahead of their peers nationally.  The study was conducted using the Terra Nova and the Maryland Model for School Readiness, both widely-used standardized assessment tools.  Students enrolled in our KinderCare for more than one year yielded even higher scores.

We invite you to experience the accreditation difference by scheduling a tour at our school today!

AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited–nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference, and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

Our kids are taking off!

By kindergarten, our kids are testing ahead of their peers. Read all about it.

Accreditation

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Monthly Activities

July's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: What’s the Weather and Wonderful Water
This month we go all natural as infants and toddlers are introduced to the weather and children in Discovery Preschool experiment and have fun with water. Sensory adventures will continue for infants as they explore playing with colored water and experiment with how pinwheels and scarves move in the wind. Meanwhile, toddlers will use musical instruments to create the sound of rain and will connect their learning to the world as they role-play different weather scenarios, such as a warm summer day at the beach and a cold, snowy winter day. In Discovery Preschool, children will be learning about different bodies of water as well as how people use water in their everyday lives.

Children 4 to 5 years old: Spectacular Science and All About Books
In the first two weeks of this month, we take older children on a scientific journey of discovery to learn more about the natural world before turning the focus to the amazing world of books! Preschoolers will learn about states of matter, force, motion, and magnetism; children in Pre-K will learn about natural formations like rivers, mountains, and deserts; and kindergarteners will discover the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling. When we turn to books, children will learn about the different parts of books, explore the roles of author and illustrator, and learn what makes a book fiction or nonfiction.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Math

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Sports/Active Adventures

Teachers & Staff

The teachers and staff at South Mustang KinderCare are dedicated to educating and nurturing children. Many of our teachers have or are working toward their degrees in early childhood education. Our team strives for excellence through continuing education, from biannual Professional Development Trainings to seeking additional college courses or seminars in the education field. At the end of the day, the true key to our teachers' success is their passion for teaching and their love of learning.

Your child's safety is a top priority for us here at the South Mustang KinderCare. Each one of our staff members is trained and certified in CPR and First Aid. We have taken great care in the development of a Center Safety and Evacuation plan, which is regularly updated and discussed at our monthly staff meetings. We also have a keypad entry system to our facility and the code is changed once every six months to ensure the safety of all. You can be sure that your child is in a safe and caring environment.

At KinderCare, what families say about us means a lot. Read below some of the great experiences our families have had with us.

Share Your Story
If you have a story about your experience at KinderCare, please share your story with us.

I am caring for a foster child and was referred to South Mustang KinderCare by my case worker. The office staff was very patient and helpful. They assured me that my little one will be well taken care of and feel safe and loved. They delivered their promise as guaranteed, and I cannot stop praising the staff for making my mind feel at ease!

- Foster parent

Words cannot express the thanks that my family has for each and every South Mustang KinderCare early childhood teacher and staff member who has been a part of our family for almost nine years. We enrolled at KinderCare in 2001 when our son was six weeks old. Since then, he has grown and matured into an amazing, intelligent young man.

- Mother

Our son has been attending South Mustang KinderCare since he was seven weeks old and he is now in the Toddler Classroom. We chose KinderCare over other daycares in the area for many reason. We've always heard good things about KinderCare and it was always in the top three recommendations from other parents. When we took the tour of the facilities, we were impressed with how clean everything was and how friendly everybody was. It was great to see a spacious Infant Classroom with many toys for stimulation and to actually see the teachers interacting with the children. The teachers are very experienced and it's comforting to see they could expertly handle multiple crying infants while looking completely stree-free. The Infant Teachers also had great communication with the Toddler Teachers. I think it is a wonderful idea to have one big room split into two sides for both classes. The Toddler Teachers were also able to familiarize themselves with our son and his habits as he developed on the Infant side. Both sets of teachers helped ease his transition over by helping him drop down to one nap schedule and allowing him to spend play time with the toddlers rather than abruptly changing him from one set of teachers to another. They were very accommodating in working with my family in whatever it took to ease him into the older class. Being a first time parent, it is completely nerve wracking to just randomly choose strangers to care for my child over eight hours of the day. However, the staff made the transition very easy for me. They did not mind that I called multiple times a day to check on him and were always helpful in answering questions. Now that he is older, it is so much fun to see all the new things he is learning from his teachers and peers. Every day is something new with him and it is such a relief to know he enjoys going to school and see his friends run up to say hi. With a second baby coming in July, I cannot imagine placing her in a different learning environment other than KinderCare.

Awesome! What can we say about South Mustang KinderCare other than that? We are very happy with the services here. Both our kids attend and we find the programs to be excellent, the teachers well-trained, and the curriculum to be very sound. We have had a good response from the administration and whenever we have a concern, it is always dealt with promptly and professionally. We especially enjoy the extra learning classes. Our son has been in the phonics, math, and cooking classes and has really progressed. Our daughter is in the music class and enjoys all she does. We highly recommend the school and teachers, and would encourage anyone looking for daycare to give KinderCare serious consideration.

I absolutely love the teachers at the South Mustang KinderCare center. My boys are happy and very well cared for. I am thankful that I found them.

I can speak nothing but praises for this facility. My son is truly happy coming every day to the wonderful caregivers and everyone honestly and truly loves him.

The teachers and staff at South Mustang KinderCare are absolutely incredible. Our children have been attending KinderCare since May of 2014. Every step of the way, the teachers have been so supportive, loving, and kind. Our kids love going to school and they have thrived so much emotionally and mentally under their care. My hat goes off to everyone at KinderCare as I continue to be impressed and relieved that we chose the right school.

Our family joined South Mustang KinderCare in March of 2013 when our son had just turned two years old. We were looking for a daycare facility that was closer to our home and that would provide a safe place for learning and growth for our son. Some of the things that have impressed us with KinderCare are the supportive nature of the staff, teachers, and leadership. The quality education they've provided and their ability to respond quickly and appropriately to questions and concerns is truly wonderful. Our son has always been a bit uncomfortable with big changes, so the welcoming staff at KinderCare supported us with the process of him changing schools in numerous ways. First, the Director at the time allowed for several visits to his room before his first day. He and I visited a couple of times and spent 20-30 minutes in his room, which allowed him to become familiar with his classroom and his teachers before the start date. With such a big change, our son had some separation anxiety at drop-off for the first few weeks, but the teachers and staff were supportive and helped him through the anxiety by always greeting him with a smile and positivity. Now at five years old, I cannot remember the last time he was not happy about coming to school to see his teachers and friends. A good education has always been important to our family, and the KinderCare team has supplemented the learning that we provide at our home by bringing structured classroom learning and learning through play to our son's education. We have always been impressed with the education our son has received while attending KinderCare--from standard educational items like letters, numbers, colors, and patterns to creating strong social bonds with friends. We feel that our son is well-prepared to start kindergarten in the fall. We have also always been happy with the sense of community between ourselves and teachers at KinderCare. The saying that it takes a village to raise a child is echoed in the responsiveness of the staff at KinderCare. They have always been willing to meet with us to discuss questions or concerns and we have worked together as a team to determine the best options for our son. This facility wants parents to always feel involved in their child's learning through regular parent/teacher conferences, and feedback on achievements at school. The staff and teachers have enhanced our "village" with a team approach to learning and guiding our son toward a positive school experience.

In 2012, we knew we needed to quickly find somewhere to take the two boys due to work conflicts. She started calling centers close to her work. The first call was to South Mustang KinderCare and they told us they could get us in with no problems. She brought them the next day, and was met by staff that was helpful in getting the kids where they needed to go and helping get the paperwork ready. We now have our third child going here. The oldest has moved on to public school and is doing wonderfully thanks to the education he got at this center. The youngest two are still attending and they love to go to school every day. Our middle child will be starting public school soon and we believe he will be way ahead of the others from the learning opportunities he has gotten at KinderCare. The staff is invested in helping each child to become the best he or she can be. They also care about every child and from what we have seen is all the children love them too. We are so happy that we called KinderCare first, and can be a part of the KinderCare family.

Our family could not have been more blessed when faced with a last-minute, emergency situation of having no child care for our girls. My husband made one phone call and South Mustang KinderCare took our kiddos in the very next day, with no hassles and the most welcoming entry. When we started at KinderCare, we had just recently found out that our one-year-old (now two) was allergic to just about 90% of all foods. KinderCare did not flinch at the challenging situation, but took it head on and has stayed on top of it to this day. Every teacher has loved and treated our girls as their own and our school-age child begs to go there on out-of-school days. In a hard situation of having to trust your children's lives with others, every day, all day; KinderCare has made it exceptionally relieving and less stressful to do so
