Accreditation

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Private Kindergarten Programs (5 – 6 Years)

As children reach school age, our comprehensive full-day kindergarten program helps them explore, communicate, and create – all in a nurturing, small-class setting. Our team of expert educators has created a unique curriculum of reading, language, arts, math, science, and physical fitness that’s presented in a fun way to encourage a lifelong love of learning. Plus, our program is aligned with local and state elementary school standards, so children will be prepared to confidently enter first grade.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Cooking

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

Math

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

    1. January's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Light and Dark, plus the Sky and Weather

Through shadow play, experiments with flashlights, observing the Sun and more, infants and toddlers will enjoy learning about light and dark this month. Infants continue sensory development by looking at contrasting patterns and at objects that are clearly defined by sharp edges and bright colors, while toddlers will build on their understanding of the light and dark concepts with play around daytime and nighttime. The older Discovery Preschool children will turn their attention to the sky as they learn about weather, the Moon, the Sun, and stars.

Children 4–5 years old: Transportation, Healthy Bodies, and Winter

For children in the Preschool and Kindergarten classrooms, January is filled with variety! They’ll begin by learning about transportation and studying how things get from “here” to “there.” A few weeks later, the focus will shift to health and bodies, with an emphasis placed on how to make good choices for a growing body. Towards the end of the month, children will be introduced to the transformative nature of the winter season and learn how to dress and take care of themselves when it’s cold outside.

Teachers & Staff

The teachers here at KinderCare on the Parkway believe that children come first.  The most crucial period of a child's cognitive development is in his or her first five years of life. This knowledge motivates the staff to create an engaging and safe early learning environment for your child.

    1. December's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Family, Friends, and Things that Go!

Infants and toddlers will be exploring family and friends, while three-year-olds will focus on things that go vroom! Social and emotional development is foundational to growth and development in babies, so this month, infants and toddlers will participate in activities that reinforce their connection to family while also exploring connections that exist outside their home, such as friends. Meanwhile, their older friends in Discovery Preschool will learn about and play around with things that move (like bicycles, cars, buses, trains, and airplanes), which are all very exciting for little ones as they continue to explore the world outside their homes.

Children 4–5 years old: My Country + Tools and Machines

The four- and five-year-olds continue exploring the world around them by learning about the state and country they live in! They’ll sings songs, play games based on travel, and learn about flags, state foods, and more. Children will also be introduced to cardinal directions (east, west, north, and south) and gain an appreciation for travel and meeting new friends from different places.

Children are naturally fascinated with machines and how things work and are put together. So to encourage that fascination, during the second half of this month children will learn about and play around with tools and machines. In addition to building literacy skills by using the names of machines and tools, children will develop math skills by graphing information, counting wheels, and more.

Share Your Story
If you have a story about your experience at KinderCare, please share your story with us.

Since starting the Phonics Learning Adventures program at KinderCare, we have seen a significant improvement in my son's letter and word recognition. Whether it's him calling out the letters in an elevator or trying to sound out words on store signs, he's always looking for letters and words. He now goes through several words that rhyme with one another. He'll hear the word rat and proceeded to try and rhyme as many words as he can. I am very pleased in the direction that my son is going in and feel he is getting the head start that he needs to succeed.

- KinderCare on the Parkway Parent

My daughter has been enrolled in Phonics since she was 3 years old. I wanted to ensure that she got a "jump start" - and she has. Through the Learning Adventures offered by KinderCare, my child has developed a love of learning. Education is a major part of a child's growth and they are most receptive to this young. I felt it important to capitalize on this behavior. I also feel that by enrolling my daughter into the Learning Adventures program, it would help to establish a love and acceptance of learning. My daughter asks daily if, "today is a Phonics day?". This makes me happy. My daughter enjoys Kelsey and forever wants to read the book using the puppet. Word recognition, handwriting homework and all the added "special programs" (eg. book guided crafts, cooking, etc.) have done what I had hoped - inspired my child's love to learn.

- KinderCare on the Parkway Parent

One of my son's favorite activities at school is the weekly cooking adventures class. The cooking class is great because the kids get to be creative while learning skills such as measurement and counting. He absolutely loves making new recipes and is so excited to tell me about the experience each week. Miss Kimberly does an amazing job connecting with the kids and makes it fun.

My son has been enrolled in the phonics class for nearly a year and I believe that it is greatly helping his reading and writing skills. The individualized attention and structures progression help him to really grasp each lesson. The take home work reinforces the information presented at school. Recently, I was shocked to see my four year old clearly printing out his name. I think that Miss Kimberly works hards to make learning fun and engages extremely well with the kids.

- KinderCare on the Parkway Mother

We appreciate Ms. Amy for going above the call of duty and dealings focal issues. She always makes time to talk to me or to have encouraging words for my daughters! I am also encouraged by her positivity! Her warm smiles makes all the difference.

- KinderCare on the Parkway Mother

Words cannot express our gratitude and affection for the commitment and professionalism that Ms. Kimberly has continuously dedicated to our sons, Sebastian and Ronaldo Ramlakhan. The capability that she brings to KinderCare Learning Adventure Program is second to none and we have experienced significant benefits. After Sebastian's first week of kindergarten, his teacher and the principle said he is an amazing reader and he was placed in the 1st Grade reading class. Ms. Kimberly diligently and conscientiously makes learning fun because our children are always excited to attend her adventures. Her unwavering patience, keen sense of vision, evolving creativity, and her sensitivity to the needs of our children are vital characteristics that enable her success. Like Sebastian, we believe Ronaldo will be placed in higher learning because of the head start he is receiving from the learning adventure classes. We believe in Ms. Kimberly and all her adventures especially phonics, mathematics, and science. She has earned our respect and admiration and we are forever grateful for her exceptional service

- at KinderCare on the Parkway

Ms. Stacy,

I want to let you know that you are an awesome teacher. The instruction and care that you provided to my son this year was above and beyond my expectations.

As you know, my son attended public kindergarten for 3 weeks - it was a nightmare!!!

My son is a typical little boy - he has lots of energy, fidgety, likes to be first at everything, and gets bored fast. He is unique in that he is extremely smart but is challenged in peer social interaction and can be quite impulsive at times. From the moment that I interviewed you, I knew that God had answered my prayers - your passion for teaching and training ALL kids was evident during our first conversation.

As you know, my son will be returning to public school this fall. There were 3 school representatives from the county that came to observe your class to see how he has progressed in the private school setting. At our meeting, they told me that they were amazed at your classroom management skills, individualized-instruction activities, unique curriculum, and the compassion along with the no-nonsense attitude you displayed with the kids. They concluded that my son's progress was directly related to your teaching and training and they therefore now understand exactly what my son needs in order to be successful in a public school.

I am so proud to say that my child attended the KinderCare Kindergarten program and I will be forever grateful for the "love" that you and all of the teachers have shown my son.

Please don't ever forget that every child is unique - all they need is someone to believe in them. Thank you for being that teacher to believe in my precious little boy.

- KinderCare on the Parkway Kindergarten Mother

Thank you for your time and dedication creating a safe environment of enthusiasm, learning, and appreciation for growing our child!

- KinderCare on the Parkway Parents

Owen's teachers have been truly remarkable with him. In two weeks, he was off his pacifier, and giving them hugs and kisses goodbye. This truly speaks to the level of kindness, attention and compassion they show their little students. Owen has also started speaking Spanish! We were practicing counting one day and he started saying uno and dos. Every time I come in the class room, Hafida and Touria are engaging in some hands on activity with Owen from coloring, reading and flashcards to dance. Its amazing to see how dedicated they are to engaging and teaching the children. I continue to be very impressed with KinderCare, the staff and their passion for children!

- KinderCare on the Parkway Toddler Mother

Thank you for taking such fantastic care of my little girls! They are so happy and loved at your center, and I know they are having a wonderful day at school learning new things, doing great activities, and having a lot of fun. Your staff is honestly the best I've seen, and I researched so many schools (even outside of the Kindercare group of schools) before I picked this one. I felt comfortable the minute I walked in the door, because it is such a warm, caring, and safe environment. The girls have loved taking phonics classes too. They have learned so much and I know they are enjoying it so much. I am so grateful to have found Woodbridge KinderCare!

- KinderCare on the Parkway Preschool and Pre K Mother

My oldest child started attending KinderCare in 1999, and is now 20 years old. Since then, my other three children, starting as infants through their School Age program, have all attended KinderCare. I couldn't imagine having my children go anywhere else. The things they have learned and memories they have made are priceless. I now have my nephew enrolled because I want him to have the same wonderful experiences that all four of my children had.
