Accreditation

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Private Kindergarten Programs (5 – 6 Years)

As children reach school age, our comprehensive full-day kindergarten program helps them explore, communicate, and create – all in a nurturing, small-class setting. Our team of expert educators has created a unique curriculum of reading, language, arts, math, science, and physical fitness that’s presented in a fun way to encourage a lifelong love of learning. Plus, our program is aligned with local and state elementary school standards, so children will be prepared to confidently enter first grade.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Cooking

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

Math

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Teachers & Staff

The teachers here at KinderCare on the Parkway believe that children come first.  The most crucial period of a child's cognitive development is in his or her first five years of life. This knowledge motivates the staff to create an engaging and safe early learning environment for your child.

Share Your Story
If you have a story about your experience at KinderCare, please share your story with us.

Since starting the Phonics Learning Adventures program at KinderCare, we have seen a significant improvement in my son's letter and word recognition. Whether it's him calling out the letters in an elevator or trying to sound out words on store signs, he's always looking for letters and words. He now goes through several words that rhyme with one another. He'll hear the word rat and proceeded to try and rhyme as many words as he can. I am very pleased in the direction that my son is going in and feel he is getting the head start that he needs to succeed.

- KinderCare on the Parkway Parent

My daughter has been enrolled in Phonics since she was 3 years old. I wanted to ensure that she got a "jump start" - and she has. Through the Learning Adventures offered by KinderCare, my child has developed a love of learning. Education is a major part of a child's growth and they are most receptive to this young. I felt it important to capitalize on this behavior. I also feel that by enrolling my daughter into the Learning Adventures program, it would help to establish a love and acceptance of learning. My daughter asks daily if, "today is a Phonics day?". This makes me happy. My daughter enjoys Kelsey and forever wants to read the book using the puppet. Word recognition, handwriting homework and all the added "special programs" (eg. book guided crafts, cooking, etc.) have done what I had hoped - inspired my child's love to learn.

- KinderCare on the Parkway Parent

One of my son's favorite activities at school is the weekly cooking adventures class. The cooking class is great because the kids get to be creative while learning skills such as measurement and counting. He absolutely loves making new recipes and is so excited to tell me about the experience each week. Miss Kimberly does an amazing job connecting with the kids and makes it fun.

My son has been enrolled in the phonics class for nearly a year and I believe that it is greatly helping his reading and writing skills. The individualized attention and structures progression help him to really grasp each lesson. The take home work reinforces the information presented at school. Recently, I was shocked to see my four year old clearly printing out his name. I think that Miss Kimberly works hards to make learning fun and engages extremely well with the kids.

- KinderCare on the Parkway Mother

Words cannot express our gratitude and affection for the commitment and professionalism that Ms. Kimberly has continuously dedicated to our sons, Sebastian and Ronaldo Ramlakhan. The capability that she brings to KinderCare Learning Adventure Program is second to none and we have experienced significant benefits. After Sebastian's first week of kindergarten, his teacher and the principle said he is an amazing reader and he was placed in the 1st Grade reading class. Ms. Kimberly diligently and conscientiously makes learning fun because our children are always excited to attend her adventures. Her unwavering patience, keen sense of vision, evolving creativity, and her sensitivity to the needs of our children are vital characteristics that enable her success. Like Sebastian, we believe Ronaldo will be placed in higher learning because of the head start he is receiving from the learning adventure classes. We believe in Ms. Kimberly and all her adventures especially phonics, mathematics, and science. She has earned our respect and admiration and we are forever grateful for her exceptional service

- at KinderCare on the Parkway

Ms. Stacy,

I want to let you know that you are an awesome teacher. The instruction and care that you provided to my son this year was above and beyond my expectations.

As you know, my son attended public kindergarten for 3 weeks - it was a nightmare!!!

My son is a typical little boy - he has lots of energy, fidgety, likes to be first at everything, and gets bored fast. He is unique in that he is extremely smart but is challenged in peer social interaction and can be quite impulsive at times. From the moment that I interviewed you, I knew that God had answered my prayers - your passion for teaching and training ALL kids was evident during our first conversation.

As you know, my son will be returning to public school this fall. There were 3 school representatives from the county that came to observe your class to see how he has progressed in the private school setting. At our meeting, they told me that they were amazed at your classroom management skills, individualized-instruction activities, unique curriculum, and the compassion along with the no-nonsense attitude you displayed with the kids. They concluded that my son's progress was directly related to your teaching and training and they therefore now understand exactly what my son needs in order to be successful in a public school.

I am so proud to say that my child attended the KinderCare Kindergarten program and I will be forever grateful for the "love" that you and all of the teachers have shown my son.

Please don't ever forget that every child is unique - all they need is someone to believe in them. Thank you for being that teacher to believe in my precious little boy.

- KinderCare on the Parkway Kindergarten Mother

Thank you for your time and dedication creating a safe environment of enthusiasm, learning, and appreciation for growing our child!

- KinderCare on the Parkway Parents

My family and I moved to Woodbridge, Virginia three years ago from New Jersey.  We came here knowing no one, and very little about the daycare centers in the area. My son was enrolled in a fabulous daycare in New Jersey, so it took me several months before I finally found the perfect match! Not only a perfect match for him, but for me as well. From the minute we walked in the door, it felt like home. From the directors to every staff member, we were welcomed with open arms, friendly smiles and positive, upbeat attitudes. At this point, I knew this was a PERFECT match for us.

Dylan started in the Discovery Preschool class and this week he will be graduating from Prekindergarten and moving on to Kindergarten.  As parents, we never want our children to grow up especially at this incredibly fast rate they seem to be going nowadays. As much as I wish he could stay little forever, I believe the hardest part about him going to kindergarten is that he will not be with his current teacher, Ms. Stacey. She is a teacher for Prekindergarten at the Montclair, Virginia location. First, let me say that each and every person in that building is considered family to us. Each one of them has had an opportunity to be a part of my sons every day life and watch his development and all the progress he has, and continues to make.

Being there for three years, I have had the opportunity to become very close with everyone there, and they are all special to me in different ways. However, I am a firm believer in giving credit where credit is due and hands down, I will praise Ms. Stacey until I am blue in the face. I believe in her and appreciate her wholeheartedly for all she does each and every day for our children.

To physically see how much my son has changed since being in her class makes me feel completely confident in knowing that when he is in Kindergarten next year, he (as well as every other child in her class) will be one or two steps ahead of the other children in many different ways. Every day she has a different idea, a special project, or sweet and fun songs that make the children excited about coming to school! She truly is an inspiration to me and the children because she makes learning fun and that is so important to do at such an early age, since they have a long journey ahead of them. What I find to be super impressive is that each child absorbs everything she teaches them and at four to five years old; that is NOT an easy task!

I speak to Ms. Stacey every day. When I tell her what he's told me about his day and how happy he was to tell me, you can see the excitement and enthusiasm in her eyes, because she loves what she does and is good at it! Ms. Stacey does not just teach them things regarding their letters, numbers or colors. She teaches them about respecting themselves, as well as others, and right from wrong. Ms. Stacey is always updating me on his progress, what he needs help with, what he is excelling in, and what I can do to help him at home. In a perfect world, my son would stay with her until he graduates from college. That is how much I believe in her and have nothing but the utmost of faith and trust in her due to the fact she only wants to see each and everyone of them succeed and do well. In my eyes, the world needs more people like Ms. Stacey. I will miss speaking to my friend every day, but I feel completely blessed that my son was able to meet and learn such amazing qualities from a remarkable person! I know I am!

I thank all of you at corporate for having such amazing individuals represent your company and being there for our children and for going above and beyond, every single day, NO MATTER WHAT! I hope that this will some how make it back to her so she knows how much she is appreciated, but if not, at least now you all know.

Thank you for your time and the wonderful experience here at KinderCare!

- KinderCare on the Parkway Mother

We appreciate Ms. Amy for going above the call of duty and dealings focal issues. She always makes time to talk to me or to have encouraging words for my daughters! I am also encouraged by her positivity! Her warm smiles makes all the difference.

- KinderCare on the Parkway Mother

We wanted to send a letter in regards to the KinderCare located in Woodbridge, Virginia on Prince William Parkway. We wanted to let someone know about the wonderful customer service we experienced in regards to our son. Our son, Cooper, recently lost his homework folder at the center and after an evening and the following morning of the staff looking for it, it was nowhere to be found. Our son was very distressed as this can mean the difference between a "green day" (good day) in Kindergarten or a "red day" (not so good day) at school for not having his homework folder. Come to find out, another parent had accidentally picked up his folder. The parent returned it the next day, unfortunately after my son had gone to school. When the folder was returned, not only did the Director call to let me know they had found the folder, she personally brought it to the school so that my son would not get in trouble for the missing folder.

We wanted to let someone know how much we appreciated the fact that the Director went above and beyond for our family. When we told her she didn't need to bring it to the school, she stated that she did not want him to get in trouble and it was no problem to bring it to him. We would like to take the opportunity to thank the Director as well as the rest of management and staff for always taking such good care of our children.

- KinderCare on the Parkway School Agers Father

Owen's teachers have been truly remarkable with him. In two weeks, he was off his pacifier, and giving them hugs and kisses goodbye. This truly speaks to the level of kindness, attention and compassion they show their little students. Owen has also started speaking Spanish! We were practicing counting one day and he started saying uno and dos. Every time I come in the class room, Hafida and Touria are engaging in some hands on activity with Owen from coloring, reading and flashcards to dance. Its amazing to see how dedicated they are to engaging and teaching the children. I continue to be very impressed with KinderCare, the staff and their passion for children!
