We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited–nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference, and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

Our kids are taking off!

By kindergarten, our kids are testing ahead of their peers. Read all about it.

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Monthly Activities

January's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Light and Dark, plus the Sky and Weather

Through shadow play, experiments with flashlights, observing the Sun and more, infants and toddlers will enjoy learning about light and dark this month. Infants continue sensory development by looking at contrasting patterns and at objects that are clearly defined by sharp edges and bright colors, while toddlers will build on their understanding of the light and dark concepts with play around daytime and nighttime. The older Discovery Preschool children will turn their attention to the sky as they learn about weather, the Moon, the Sun, and stars.

Children 4–5 years old: Transportation, Healthy Bodies, and Winter

For children in the Preschool and Kindergarten classrooms, January is filled with variety! They’ll begin by learning about transportation and studying how things get from “here” to “there.” A few weeks later, the focus will shift to health and bodies, with an emphasis placed on how to make good choices for a growing body. Towards the end of the month, children will be introduced to the transformative nature of the winter season and learn how to dress and take care of themselves when it’s cold outside.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Private Kindergarten Programs (5 – 6 Years)

As children reach school age, our comprehensive full-day kindergarten program helps them explore, communicate, and create – all in a nurturing, small-class setting. Our team of expert educators has created a unique curriculum of reading, language, arts, math, science, and physical fitness that’s presented in a fun way to encourage a lifelong love of learning. Plus, our program is aligned with local and state elementary school standards, so children will be prepared to confidently enter first grade.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with the Spanish language. Music, games, children's Spanish literature, and other tools give children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language for vocabulary and conversational development. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers, colors, animals, family, body parts and pets as well as how to get engage conversationally during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo. Qué pasa?

It is great when the children get excited and are all smiles when they realize they have learned something new.

My goal is to lay the foundation for your infant to develop trusting relationships. I will respond to your baby with sensitivity and attention; use words, facial expressions, and eye contact to communicate; and use family photos to promote self-awareness and provide continuity with your child's home.  I will help build brain power in a loving and caring environment. I will prepare your infant to think and reason by exploring the concepts of cause-and-effect, trial-and-error, and object permanence through play; provide a variety of materials of different colors, sizes, textures, and shapes; and encourage the use of all five senses to discover the world.

I love seeing the children smile. It's awesome to see them have fun and learn something new.

My goal is to encourage your child to express individuality through artistic exploration and creativity. I will help your infant learn to engage with others. I will talk with your child; communicate verbally and through non-verbal gestures; tell stories and sing songs to model conversational skills; and use picture books to build association between sounds, objects and words.  I will also help your infant improve mobility and coordination.  I will support your baby as he or she rolls from side-to-side and learns to crawl, stand, and walk; support the development of motor skills with blocks and shape boards; and meet your child's individual needs for rest and nutrition.

My goal is to provide age-appropriate activities and materials that develop confidence, self-esteem, and a love of learning.  I will use storytelling and word games to help your child practice imitating and responding, asking questions, and following simple directions; provide practice naming familiar items; and support rich vocabulary development.  I look forward to supporting your toddler in growing socially and emotionally.

I think it is important to help children at an early age learn positive self esteem, by letting them be their own individual person. We have family style dining so the children get to serve themselves lunch at the table. The curriculum we use is a hands on interaction to develop their mind.

My goal is to provide a positive environment where language and literacy development will flourish.  I believe when children feel secure in their environment, they are more likely to engage in frequent, age-appropriate conversations that build vocabulary and social skills.  I work with children individually, in small groups, and the whole group at different times during the day.   I will display your child's original artwork, their own writing with invented spelling, and stories dictated by children during our afternoon group time. You will also find your child’s work in his / her portfolio and take-home folder.  I use lacing cards, stencils, and writing activities to enhance fine-motor skills; strengthen coordination and gross-motor skills through running, jumping, and throwing activities, offer healthful food choices for snacks and meals, and encourage learning about the ways our bodies respond to the exercise and nutrition we take in.

My goal is to develop a classroom environment where every student feels respected, accepted, and cherished.  We have a lot of fun, but also make time for homework during the school year.  I provide opportunities to practice active listening, negotiation, compromise, and leadership through the Classroom Council; support teamwork on long-term projects; and encourage language and communication skills through literacy, drama, and music clubs.

I love how my students love coming into my room to learn and play games. The children brighten my day with their beautiful smiles.

My goal is to provide a literacy rich classroom with plenty of opportunities for children to explore letters, sounds, books and writing.  As a leader in early childhood education, KinderCare knows that one of the best predictors of a successful reader is the amount of time a child spends reading. I use daily journal activities to practice writing skills; help your child's early reading skills by connecting sounds to letters through picture and word collages; teach basic sight words in fun and engaging ways; and develop phonemic awareness through literacy-based games, books, and puzzles in our Phonics Learning Adventures class. We will build brain power while making new friends and learning valuable social skills for success in Elementary School.

Health and Safety

Our top priority at KinderCare is to provide a safe and healthy environment for our children, families, and staff. We do this through rigorous training and constant assessment and evaluation of proper policies and procedures. Your child’s security begins at the front door, literally. We have a locked security entrance that requires a numeric code to enter. All side doors are kept locked to ensure the security of the exterior of the building. All guests are emergency pick up people are identified and escorted through the building. Of course, our teachers have all cleared local, state, and federal background checks, including fingerprinting. We are trained in infant and child CPR and First Aid. We do routine fire, storm, and lock-down drills to prepare for the unexpected. Throughout the day, your child will be supervised at all times. No child is ever left unattended, even for a minute. Teachers have all been trained in supervision, discipline and guidance, and developmentally appropriate practices to ensure they understand the risks associated with the children in their care. If your child has food allergies or specific medical conditions, we will work with you to ensure your child’s well being while in our care. We also take the responsibility of your child’s emotional security very seriously. We want every child to feel safe, loved, and respected while at KinderCare.

At KinderCare, what families say about us means a lot. Read below some of the great experiences our families have had with us.

Share Your Story
If you have a story about your experience at KinderCare, please share your story with us.

“I have three children at Kindercare. They have been with Kindercare since they were 8 weeks old. From the very beginning, the staff at Kindercare made me feel comfortable leaving my little ones in their care at such a young age. You can truly see how affectionate and caring the teachers are with their students. There is no better proof than seeing your child running into school or not wanting to leave. My children are now 6, 4 and 6 months old and still love it. Jen and her staff have done a fantastic job of preparing them for kindergarten. They go above and beyond and make you feel like you are part of their family. Thank You, Ladies!"

- Mother

We entrusted the care of our 3 month old daughter to Kindercare in January 2009.  Our jobs required us to find an acceptable facility that opened early and stayed open late.  We discovered Kindercare met all these qualifications and was convenient to our home.  Kindercare gave our daughter the attention and care as if she was their own.  Parker always was happy to get to daycare and some days did not want to leave.
The curriculum adopted by Kindercare encourages children to explore and learn while having a good time.  The staff members are well qualified and have positive attitudes.  The teachers and staff encourage the students and parents to join in activities similar to ones they will be doing when they go to public school.  For example, wear your favorite college shirt, wear your pajamas and dress up for Go Texan Day in your western wear to mention a few.
Kindercare offers extracurricular activities that children with working parents may not have the opportunity to participate in otherwise (i.e. dance, phonics, cooking, etc).  The fees were affordable and classes optional.
Parker was taught by a certified teacher for 2 years while in the “Pre-K” program.
Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. were always encouraged to visit and were welcomed.  Kindercare provided opportunities during the school year for parents and extended family to come into the facility for programs, parties and for observations.  The summer program is filled with fun activities and play.
Parker is in Kindergarten at David Elementary and the transition went smoothly.  She is doing well and received the tools she needed for this next step in her education.  She participates in the Kindercare before and after school program this year.
We and her extended family could not be more pleased and thankful for the wonderful caring people at Kindercare who have taken such good care of our daughter.

- Mother

My six month old attends KinderCare in The Woodlands, and I am so lucky to have stumbled upon them off Gosling and Research Forest. I cannot stress enough as the mother of two and being a teacher how imperative it is to not have to worry about your children when you are at work. Every single morning when we walk in we are immediately greated warmly not only by his teachers, but also by the staff. You can obviously tell that Kindercare is a great place to work because the teachers are always in good moods no matter what time of day. They are all so energetic and positive. I also cannot believe how much they know about my child and his classmates. They tell you so much about my child's day verbally as well as written documentation that I feel as if I was right there with him. As I mentioned earlier I am a teacher and rarely get a moment to myself throughout the day and my husband comes home on the weekends, which means we rely so much on his teachers. My husband knowing how great they take care of our child, and how they are always physically giving us pictures truly puts him at ease who is away much of the week. Also, the facility is extremely clean, bright and filled with decorations from student photos. In my son's classroom they even have pictures of the kids on rings that are "chew proof" for them to explore. Again, just another example of how this school is student and family centered. I want to specifically express our family's gratitude towards Ms. Shawnee, Ms. Alyssa, Ms. Paige, Ms. Stephanie and the directors. These ladies I hope understand that they are helping my family and I raise our baby boy and this means the world to us. Yes, the building is beautiful but these teachers are what makes KinderCare truly a thriving, loving atmosphere for children.

- mother

There are not enough words in the world to describe how wonderful Jennifer and the staff at KinderCare are! My son is highly allergic to peanuts and eggs. They double check all packages before giving my son any food. Jennifer and the staff have made me feel so comfortable about leaving my son in their care. I have nothing but positive things to say about the staff at KinderCare at Forest Crossing!!!

- Parent

The faculty and staff at Kinder Care are invested in the children under their supervision. My daughter feels like an essential part of the whole and is always treated with dignity and respect. We enjoy a wonderful relationship with the staff and teachers and are looking forward to more great things to come.

- Mother

We have been using the services at Kindercare Forest Crossing Center for 7 years and it has been a wonderful experience. My child has been through great times and the staff has always been willing to work with me. His teachers qlways bring his accomplishments and triumphs to my attention. I have used them for full time daycare services, summers, before and after school. My child has fun, learns a lot and engages his imagination on a daily basis. The schools extra classes add more to our experience. He comes home from cooking class ready to cook dinner for the family and from Spanish class ready to speak to me in Spanish as much as he can. Kindercare has been our partner and makes sure that my child knows he is very special.

- Mother

What an amazing atmosphere for children! Jen and Winna are incredible and provide a safe, fun environment for all of the children where learning happens everyday! Our daughter loved the Infant Classroom and gets incredibly excited to visit the Toddler Classroom! The entire team of teachers is passionate about what they do!

- Parent

My children have been part of the KinderCare family for more than 10 years.  My daughter was in Phonics with Ms. LuLu when she was 4 years old.  She was reading before she even started kindergarten.  My son is now in pre-k with Ms. Donita – he LOVES it!  His favorite thing he has learned is counting by 5s!  He is more than ready to start kindergarten!

- Mother

KinderCare is a home away from home for my two daughters. The entire staff is friendly, welcoming and truly care about the well-being of not only my children, but all the children they care for. The center's summer program offers fun on-site and off-site field trips that my daughters enjoy. They are always excited to go to KinderCare and see their friends and teachers.

- Mother

Kindercare has been like family since our daughter started attending in 2013. We relocated to Texas from Virginia because of a job opportunity. Up until that point our daughter was being cared for by my grandmother; so this was an extremely huge adjustment for her. Our daughter moved with us from our entire family and everything she knew. The staff at Kindercare showed our family such care and concern; and helped make this adjustment possible. They took our daughter in and treated her as if she was one of their own children. My daughter was so shy when she first started going and now you can't get her to leave for the day. She loves it there and I know this is because of how well they treat her and the rest of the children. I love the staff at Kindercare; without them we would not have made this adjustment. I can't thank them enough for their love and support.
