Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.
Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.
As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.
At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.
As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.
Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.
As children reach school age, our comprehensive full-day kindergarten program helps them explore, communicate, and create – all in a nurturing, small-class setting. Our team of expert educators has created a unique curriculum of reading, language, arts, math, science, and physical fitness that’s presented in a fun way to encourage a lifelong love of learning. Plus, our program is aligned with local and state elementary school standards, so children will be prepared to confidently enter first grade.
Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.
Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.
KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.
The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.
The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.
Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.
Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.
Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with the Spanish language. Music, games, children's Spanish literature, and other tools give children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language for vocabulary and conversational development. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers, colors, animals, family, body parts and pets as well as how to get engage conversationally during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo. Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Light and Dark, plus the Sky and Weather
Through shadow play, experiments with flashlights, observing the Sun and more, infants and toddlers will enjoy learning about light and dark this month. Infants continue sensory development by looking at contrasting patterns and at objects that are clearly defined by sharp edges and bright colors, while toddlers will build on their understanding of the light and dark concepts with play around daytime and nighttime. The older Discovery Preschool children will turn their attention to the sky as they learn about weather, the Moon, the Sun, and stars.
Children 4–5 years old: Transportation, Healthy Bodies, and Winter
For children in the Preschool and Kindergarten classrooms, January is filled with variety! They’ll begin by learning about transportation and studying how things get from “here” to “there.” A few weeks later, the focus will shift to health and bodies, with an emphasis placed on how to make good choices for a growing body. Towards the end of the month, children will be introduced to the transformative nature of the winter season and learn how to dress and take care of themselves when it’s cold outside.
Our team at KinderCare Forest Crossing is truly one of a kind. We have a highly tenured staff. We work as a team and put that extra foot forward to ensure the best education for the children. Our team is one big happy family; we like to laugh and are very supportive of each other.
I enjoy teaching in ways that are fun and exciting and watching the kids learn something new. I have the greatest job!
Each day I will make sure our families are happy and well taken care.

Ms. Winna's favorite quote is from Dr. Seuss: "A person's a person no matter how small." She believes that children should treated with respect, and they all deserve the same opportunities!
Winna Miller has been with KinderCare since February 1996. She goes out of her way to ensure that the center's needs are met! Winna has a genuine love and respect for all of our children and families! Winna is a wonderful addition to this center, and we are glad she is a part of our KinderCare family!
It is great when the children get excited and are all smiles when they realize they have learned something new.
My goal is to lay the foundation for your infant to develop trusting relationships. I will respond to your baby with sensitivity and attention; use words, facial expressions, and eye contact to communicate; and use family photos to promote self-awareness and provide continuity with your child's home. I will help build brain power in a loving and caring environment. I will prepare your infant to think and reason by exploring the concepts of cause-and-effect, trial-and-error, and object permanence through play; provide a variety of materials of different colors, sizes, textures, and shapes; and encourage the use of all five senses to discover the world.
I love seeing the children smile. It's awesome to see them have fun and learn something new.
My goal is to encourage your child to express individuality through artistic exploration and creativity. I will help your infant learn to engage with others. I will talk with your child; communicate verbally and through non-verbal gestures; tell stories and sing songs to model conversational skills; and use picture books to build association between sounds, objects and words. I will also help your infant improve mobility and coordination. I will support your baby as he or she rolls from side-to-side and learns to crawl, stand, and walk; support the development of motor skills with blocks and shape boards; and meet your child's individual needs for rest and nutrition.
I enjoy helping the kids grow and knowing that I am part of their early learning. I believe that every action has a reaction because of what we do and say around the children affects them at any age.
My goal is to provide age-appropriate activities and materials that develop confidence, self-esteem, and a love of learning. I will use storytelling and word games to help your child practice imitating and responding, asking questions, and following simple directions; provide practice naming familiar items; and support rich vocabulary development. I look forward to supporting your toddler in growing socially and emotionally.
I think it is important to help children at an early age learn positive self esteem, by letting them be their own individual person. We have family style dining so the children get to serve themselves lunch at the table. The curriculum we use is a hands on interaction to develop their mind.
My goal is to provide a positive environment where language and literacy development will flourish. I believe when children feel secure in their environment, they are more likely to engage in frequent, age-appropriate conversations that build vocabulary and social skills. I work with children individually, in small groups, and the whole group at different times during the day. I will display your child's original artwork, their own writing with invented spelling, and stories dictated by children during our afternoon group time. You will also find your child’s work in his / her portfolio and take-home folder. I use lacing cards, stencils, and writing activities to enhance fine-motor skills; strengthen coordination and gross-motor skills through running, jumping, and throwing activities, offer healthful food choices for snacks and meals, and encourage learning about the ways our bodies respond to the exercise and nutrition we take in.
I love being able to help the children learn something new, and to do it with a smile. I believe you should treat others as you would want to be treated.
My goal is to develop a classroom environment where every student feels respected, accepted, and cherished. We have a lot of fun, but also make time for homework during the school year. I provide opportunities to practice active listening, negotiation, compromise, and leadership through the Classroom Council; support teamwork on long-term projects; and encourage language and communication skills through literacy, drama, and music clubs.
I love how my students love coming into my room to learn and play games. The children brighten my day with their beautiful smiles.
My goal is to provide a literacy rich classroom with plenty of opportunities for children to explore letters, sounds, books and writing. As a leader in early childhood education, KinderCare knows that one of the best predictors of a successful reader is the amount of time a child spends reading. I use daily journal activities to practice writing skills; help your child's early reading skills by connecting sounds to letters through picture and word collages; teach basic sight words in fun and engaging ways; and develop phonemic awareness through literacy-based games, books, and puzzles in our Phonics Learning Adventures class. We will build brain power while making new friends and learning valuable social skills for success in Elementary School.
Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Family, Friends, and Things that Go!
Infants and toddlers will be exploring family and friends, while three-year-olds will focus on things that go vroom! Social and emotional development is foundational to growth and development in babies, so this month, infants and toddlers will participate in activities that reinforce their connection to family while also exploring connections that exist outside their home, such as friends. Meanwhile, their older friends in Discovery Preschool will learn about and play around with things that move (like bicycles, cars, buses, trains, and airplanes), which are all very exciting for little ones as they continue to explore the world outside their homes.
Children 4–5 years old: My Country + Tools and Machines
The four- and five-year-olds continue exploring the world around them by learning about the state and country they live in! They’ll sings songs, play games based on travel, and learn about flags, state foods, and more. Children will also be introduced to cardinal directions (east, west, north, and south) and gain an appreciation for travel and meeting new friends from different places.
Children are naturally fascinated with machines and how things work and are put together. So to encourage that fascination, during the second half of this month children will learn about and play around with tools and machines. In addition to building literacy skills by using the names of machines and tools, children will develop math skills by graphing information, counting wheels, and more.

Our top priority at KinderCare is to provide a safe and healthy environment for our children, families, and staff. We do this through rigorous training and constant assessment and evaluation of proper policies and procedures. Your child’s security begins at the front door, literally. We have a locked security entrance that requires a numeric code to enter. All side doors are kept locked to ensure the security of the exterior of the building. All guests are emergency pick up people are identified and escorted through the building. Of course, our teachers have all cleared local, state, and federal background checks, including fingerprinting. We are trained in infant and child CPR and First Aid. We do routine fire, storm, and lock-down drills to prepare for the unexpected. Throughout the day, your child will be supervised at all times. No child is ever left unattended, even for a minute. Teachers have all been trained in supervision, discipline and guidance, and developmentally appropriate practices to ensure they understand the risks associated with the children in their care. If your child has food allergies or specific medical conditions, we will work with you to ensure your child’s well being while in our care. We also take the responsibility of your child’s emotional security very seriously. We want every child to feel safe, loved, and respected while at KinderCare.
