Our center was built to allow separate classroom which enhances more private conversations between the parents and the teachers too. We offer three large play spaces outside for the children and a large indoor place space as well. Our KinderCare is located on Franklin street. It is close to the Stoneham High School and just minutes away from our two major highways 128 and 93. AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited–nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference, and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

Our kids are taking off!

By kindergarten, our kids are testing ahead of their peers. Read all about it.

Accreditation

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Monthly Activities

July's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: What’s the Weather and Wonderful Water
This month we go all natural as infants and toddlers are introduced to the weather and children in Discovery Preschool experiment and have fun with water. Sensory adventures will continue for infants as they explore playing with colored water and experiment with how pinwheels and scarves move in the wind. Meanwhile, toddlers will use musical instruments to create the sound of rain and will connect their learning to the world as they role-play different weather scenarios, such as a warm summer day at the beach and a cold, snowy winter day. In Discovery Preschool, children will be learning about different bodies of water as well as how people use water in their everyday lives.

Children 4 to 5 years old: Spectacular Science and All About Books
In the first two weeks of this month, we take older children on a scientific journey of discovery to learn more about the natural world before turning the focus to the amazing world of books! Preschoolers will learn about states of matter, force, motion, and magnetism; children in Pre-K will learn about natural formations like rivers, mountains, and deserts; and kindergarteners will discover the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling. When we turn to books, children will learn about the different parts of books, explore the roles of author and illustrator, and learn what makes a book fiction or nonfiction.

November's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Foods and Flavors
This month infants, toddlers, and the little ones in Discovery Preschool will be exploring foods and flavors! It’s never too early to expose children to healthy food—even babies who aren’t eating solids yet. All children will explore, read about, play with, and create around different foods, but each age group will have a different focus. Infants will practice sensory exploration and create their own pretend soup, toddlers will count and measure food items, and the children in Discovery Preschool will learn about the different food groups—including a pretend farmers market.

Children 4–5 years old: Farms and Community
The older children will focus on learning first about farms, and then their community! Farms are filled with so many science- and social science-based learning opportunities for children. Children will learn all about barns and farming equipment, which animals are raised on a farm, and which crops are grown. They’ll also focus on their own communities and learn all about the different kinds of places that exist, the people who live there, and the jobs that those people do.

December's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Family, Friends, and Things that Go!
Infants and toddlers will be exploring family and friends, while three-year-olds will focus on things that go vroom! Social and emotional development is foundational to growth and development in babies, so this month, infants and toddlers will participate in activities that reinforce their connection to family while also exploring connections that exist outside their home, such as friends. Meanwhile, their older friends in Discovery Preschool will learn about and play around with things that move (like bicycles, cars, buses, trains, and airplanes), which are all very exciting for little ones as they continue to explore the world outside their homes.

Children 4–5 years old: My Country + Tools and Machines
The four- and five-year-olds continue exploring the world around them by learning about the state and country they live in! They’ll sings songs, play games based on travel, and learn about flags, state foods, and more. Children will also be introduced to cardinal directions (east, west, north, and south) and gain an appreciation for travel and meeting new friends from different places. Children are naturally fascinated with machines and how things work and are put together. So to encourage that fascination, during the second half of this month children will learn about and play around with tools and machines. In addition to building literacy skills by using the names of machines and tools, children will develop math skills by graphing information, counting wheels, and more.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Interactive Kindergarten (5 - 6 Years)

A full-day interactive Kindergarten program that utilizes new curriculum with an interactive smart board making first grade readiness a priority.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Cooking

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

Math

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Health and Safety

At the KinderCare in Stoneham, your child's safety is one of our top priorities. We have a coded entry to our school premises, where only authorized family members will have a code to enter. Otherwise one of our management team member will escort visitors through the building. In our center we also conduct fire and disaster drills. Our teachers are all first aid and CPR certified.

At KinderCare, what families say about us means a lot. Read below some of the great experiences our families have had with us.

Share Your Story
If you have a story about your experience at KinderCare, please share your story with us.

I would like to take this opportunity to share with you our wonderful experience with your center. As some of you know, we first started with KC in 2003, when the center was still very new. Our eldest at the time was 18 months old. The staff then was young and energetic. The director was excited about the new center and over the next four years our daughter continued to have very positive experiences. Skip ahead to 2010 when we enrolled our second child, Jamie. We chose KinderCare again because of our first experience and we couldn't be happier! You are all amazing and Jamie is very happy.

Understanding that you all have chosen a very difficult field to be in, you all genuinely seem very happy to come to work each day! Suzy has done a fantastic job in building top-notch teaching staff who respect and, I believe, enjoy working under her and Melissa's guidance and leadership. You are smart, motivated, and enthusiastic. The diversity in age, education, experience and ethnicity (our daughters were adopted from China!) are, I believe, an enormous benefit to the children. The growth that has taken place over the past ten years has been magnificent! Suzy and Melissa, in their leadership, have brought so many great qualities to the center. Their enthusiasm is so contagious!! Both are consistently happy and pleasant and greet you with a smile every time. They have a very broad knowledge base and share it with their staff. I get the sincere sense that every teacher at KinderCare genuinely likes and respects Suzy and Melissa. On many occasions I have heard them say how great they are. Again, our children are the beneficiaries of all of this.

We also love the way communication has improved at KinderCare. There is a clear and constant flow of information between the school and parents. I know the importance of communication with your child's caregivers and how it can be very comforting to parents. Morning drop off and evening pick ups can be very hectic times of the day so a newsletter, regular emails or a quick conversation in the office can be priceless and just what a parent needs.

The genuine love and care that everyone at Kindercare gives the children is immeasurable. When you leave your child for the day in someone else's care, that decision can be very difficult. Everyone at KinderCare makes that decision a little bit easier! Thank you all for being so wonderful and for showing our children so much love and support!!!!

- Mother

We've been at KinderCare for just four months but already feel like part of the family. Our son's teachers are so welcoming, caring and encouraging every day. For full-time working parents there is nothing better than knowing your child is not just safe but happy all day!

- Mother

We recently returned to KinderCare for my son. My daughter was there a few years back and we loved it. When it was time to find a center for my son I knew I wanted him at a KinderCare. We are so happy and my son is doing awesome! He transitioned so well and is thriving. It was great to see some of the same teachers there.
