We would love for you to come in and learn first hand how our Infant, Toddler, Discovery Preschool, Preschool and Prekindergarten programs help to set your child up for school success!

Welcome

Thank you for taking the time to look at our center. We know that choosing a learning center can be a crucial discussion, and we are here with you every step of the way. Our programs have a hands-on learning approach that provides ample time for your child to explore and learn. To teach the child as a whole, we have to create an environment that will set them up for success in all areas in learning and development. Our program will provide them with the building blocks to support future knowledge. We strive to fulfill our customer promise to have passionate teachers, confident parents, and to educate the whole child. We welcome family involvement and want to bridge the gap between home and school and provide them with a strong foundation which will give the child the confidence to learn for years to come.

AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited–nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference, and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

Our kids are taking off!

By kindergarten, our kids are testing ahead of their peers. Read all about it.

Accreditation

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Monthly Activities

May's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Colors and Shapes

Spring fills nature with vibrant colors and interesting shapes, making this the perfect month for the infants, toddlers, and children in Discovery Preschool to explore these concepts. Infants will have a blast as they smash paint in plastic bags and explore blocks with different shapes, while toddlers will practice identifying and sorting different shapes and colors before making their own color-and-shape books! Meanwhile, the children in Discovery Preschool will create rainbow artwork and continue to practice sorting, counting, and matching shapes and colors.

Children 4–5 years old: Insects and Spiders + Water

Some children might find insects and spiders a bit frightening, but this month they’ll discover how cool these tiny critters really are. Children will find out how insects create food for plants, how bees makes honey, why spiders spin webs, and more. After that, children will dive into the world of water! Preschoolers will learn about how water can take three forms (solid, liquid, and gas), children in Pre-K will learn about the importance of keeping water clean and explore the different ways people use water, and our kindergarteners will learn about different water sources and why water conservation is so important.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Cooking

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

Math

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Discovery Adventures

Teachers & Staff

They embrace the whole child and create an environment that will set them up for success in their learning and development.  They partner with our parents to bridge the learning gap and to find that special spark that each child has.

This place is amazing! Monica and Kari make you feel so welcomed and every teacher greets you when you are walking through their classroom. You can tell that the teachers are passionate about what they do, and I am always seeing happy smiling faces when I come in.

- Mother

I have been very satisfied with this child care center. The teachers are very good with the children. It wasn't the first center I looked at for my daughter but when I did the tour, and saw how happy and engaged all the kids were, I knew it was a good fit.

- Mother

I am writing today to express and tell everyone how wonderful the KinderCare Learning Center is at 15 and Schoenherr. We have been with the center since May 2015 and feel that this center is a great fit for our son. The directors are engaged with the children and the parents, and they are so very compassionate about the children in their care. My son absolutely adores his teacher and she is also completely engaged with the children. Her curriculum is fun and educational. It is so great to see my little one come home and out of nowhere begin counting or saying his ABC's (albeit sometimes out of order, but that will come in time). I would recommend this center to anyone that asks me. They offer additional programs throughout the year. Over the summer they offered private swimming lessons right at the facility. This was an important thing we wanted to do with our child, and having a trained and certified lifeguard to teach him could be life saving and priceless one day.

I am so happy we found KinderCare. I could go on and on about all the wonderful features of the organization. All I know is we have been with others and KinderCare is beyond them all. Thank you for taking such good care of our son.

- Mother

I just started my three-month-old baby here last month which was incredibly hard to do but they made us feel at home. I visited the center twice before my son's first day and the staff were so friendly and warm I instantly felt comfortable knowing they would take great care of my son. My son is always happy and well cared for when I pick him up and that is the most important thing to me.

- Mother

The center director, assistant director and toddler room (2-3 yrs) teacher is amazing. These ladies truly care about kids.  My daughter loves this center!

- Mother

My daughter has been going to this KinderCare Learning Center for over 2 years and we both have nothing but great things to say about our experience! The staff is always upbeat and friendly. The center director and assistant director are very understanding and flexible. I have recommended a few people here and will continue to do so!

- Mother

The staff at this KinderCare has made things very easy for me and my kids.  We are new to the center and the kids and I are very happy here.  Thank you for being so helpful and accommodating to our family's needs.  I would definitely recommend this center to family and friends.

- Father

This place is amazing!  I love Monica and Kari because they have made me feel so welcomed and always greet me and my child with a smile on their face.  All the teachers are passionate about what they do and you can see it in their faces every day!  I truly enjoy seeing the smiling faces on all the children when I am walking through, and seeing the teachers greet each child with a warm hug and smile melts my heart!  This is truly the best program I have visited.  They are amazing!

- Mother

One of my colleagues suggested that KinderCare had good standards so I signed my 20-month-old son up. He may not be able to speak properly, but the teachers always try to help him. They understand his gestures and do whatever he wants. In the beginning (three months ago), he was a little frightened, but now, he is enjoying the center and eagerly waits to meet his friends and teachers in the mornings. The teachers, director and assistant director are all very nice. I like the daily updates and the way they answer all my questions. I'm very impressed how the teachers will tell me what one thing special he did each day or what new thing he did that day. Thanks to all the teachers who wish me and my child a good morning with a smile on their face everyday.

- Mother

We have searched for the right preschool for our son and have visited multiple preschools throughout Southeastern Michigan. What finalized our decision on KinderCare was the welcoming at-home feeling we received from day one. The staff is well trained and outgoing. We have a very busy three-year-old boy who has a ton of energy. They not only keep up with him but keep him entertained and intrigued throughout the school day. I love when he brings home his art work and papers that show his learning is growing and on track.

The facility is very well organized and clean. I love how meals are set up as family style. This allows our son to grow and learn while even eating. The facility has an onsite chef, so there is no need to prep meals and snacks the night before.

They offer additional programs throughout the year. Over the summer they offered private swimming lessons right at the facility. This was an important thing we wanted to do with our child and having a trained and certified lifeguard to teach him could be life saving and priceless one day.

I am so happy we found KinderCare. I could go on and on with all the wonderful features about the organization. All I know is we have been with others and KinderCare is beyond them all. Thank you for taking such good care of our son.
