Accreditation

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Cooking

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Spanish

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with the Spanish language. Music, games, children's Spanish literature, and other tools give children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language for vocabulary and conversational development. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers, colors, animals, family, body parts and pets as well as how to get engage conversationally during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo. Qué pasa?

Teachers & Staff

Our staff are all committed to making your child's learning environment a positive experience. We participate in continuing education through staff monthly meetings and professional development training twice a year to stay current in the field. We have been in our present location since 2009.

Share Your Story
If you have a story about your experience at KinderCare, please share your story with us.

Dear Parents,
The intention of this letter is to serve as a referral and evaluation of the services provided by KinderCare Learning Center. From my experiences with my daughter’s attendance at the center for almost one year, the facility has actually been a gift to us and our child.
For the parents, the learning center provides a safe, happy and comfortable milieu for the children, and augments their days with a wide variety of educational activities. The dynamic staff members appear very experienced with childcare of the attendees ranging from Infants to elementary School Age children. Most impressive is the staff’s compassion, diligence and patience with all the children, which would be very difficult to match and probably impossible to surpass at other facilities.
For our daughter, the learning center has provided an environment in which she eagerly anticipates attending each day, and is actually disappointed that the center is closed on weekends. The center also provides very healthy meals, snack, and rest time for the children, which adds to the level of value and caliber of the facility. Since this time last year, we as parents have observed our child’s improved aptitude, academic and social skills, and further development of positive personality traits which we attribute all to the KinderCare Learning Center.
Therefore, my campaign is intended to provide a few basic provisions offered by the KinderCare Learning Center so that parents can better recognize and appreciate the efforts and accomplishments made by this center’s program. In addition, I highly recommend this facility for the daily care of your child because the program, staff, trust, and dependability provided by the center are truly beyond reproach.
With thanks,

- Parent

Dear Future Parent,
I am so happy you have heard about and come to visit KinderCare in New Milford. I was an anxious first time mommy when I enrolled my daughter in the Infant program last year; she started when she was fourteen weeks old. Immediately the staff (Miss Erin, Miss Jen, Miss Rachel and Miss Sara) knew I was entrusting them with my little one and treated me, my husband and my daughter with love and kindness. Every day my daughter gets giddy when I mention its time to go to “school”. We talk about what teachers she will have and the friends she will see. She has already met her best friend in her classroom and they are inseparable! The KinderCare staff keeps a very watchful eye, call if they have questions, and follow up on my child’s development. I have been brought to tears twice with the awesome Mother’s and Father’s Day gift that Miss Erin has made with my daughter. I love seeing the projects she makes and hear about the buggy rides she takes outside on the playground. I enjoy the interaction by the entire KinderCare team with my family and appreciate the hard work that they do daily. In addition, a big “WAY TO GO” to them for striving to raise the quality of education for all of our children by becoming accredited by NAEYC. This just confirms that they emphasize high-quality early care and education programs that lay the foundation for developmental milestones and school readiness. Please consider being part of the KinderCare family!

- Parent

I cannot say enough good things about KinderCare. I started bringing my daughter to the New Milford center when she was just three months old. As a first time mom it was very difficult dropping your baby off with “strangers”. Well these “strangers” have now become like family. The staff at KinderCare is very nurturing and caring and you know your child is in good hands when you go off to work. The center is very clean, well maintained and is a perfect second “home” for my daughter to be dropped off to. I love the daily reports I get from my daughter's teachers explaining what they did for the day; what books they read, what songs they sang and the adorable pictures showing them having so much fun doing whatever project it may be for that day. I love knowing she truly is having a great day every day at school. KinderCare is the center I chose for my daughter to learn and to grow and after nine months of attending it truly shows. We could not have chosen a better place, and look forward to continuing our daughter’s growth and learning skills at KinderCare of New Milford.

- Parent

Dear Future Family of KinderCare:
We have been fortunate enough to have our daughter enrolled in KinderCare since June 2013. This was our first experience with having her, our first born, in a center based program. She was placed in the Discovery Preschool room, as she was close to being two-and-a-half.
As any new parent can relate, you become overwhelmed with emotions with allowing strangers to care for your child. Since the day we came to tour the facility we have always been greeted with warm smiles and friendly faces. The staff respects our wishes, and individualizes their care based on the needs of each child.
After our daughter turned three, they began transitioning her to the Preschool room. She would spend time visiting the new room periodically to ensure she became acclimated before officially starting. After officially becoming a “Preschooler”, she found comfort in visiting her old friends and teachers in Discovery Preschool room. They welcomed her daily visits, and continue to do so.
We have always felt comfortable to approach the Directors with any concerns, thoughts, or emotions associated with all that parenthood brings. Their dedication to the facility is obvious. The programming throughout the year is well organized and communicated effectively via email, the parent communication board and/or the daily sheet we receive that outlines how our daughter spends her day.
The environment KinderCare has established promotes healthy social-emotional well-being, essential school readiness skills and the safety in knowing you leave your child in the hands of a dedicated team of staff.

- Parents

My daughter has been at KinderCare in New Milford for the past three years, from the Infant room through Preschool. The teachers’ passion, energy and enthusiasm for childcare and education are evident for anyone to see. They truly make learning fun, and make it come alive for the students. My daughter has been taught so many important foundational subjects such as counting, letters, colors, manners, and even potty training. In fact, my daughter was astounding my husband and I with the amount that she was learning and retaining at such an early age that I contacted the KinderCare corporate site to personally let them know how impressed I was with KinderCare New Milford. The teachers are trustworthy, patient, compassionate, responsible, highly competent with children of all ages, and constantly communicate with me on my child’s progress. I always take the time to recommend KinderCare New Milford to anyone looking for a safe, educational place to care for their children during the day, and I do not hesitate myself to entrust KinderCare New Milford with the most precious thing I have - my child.

- Mother

Our daughter was welcomed into the KinderCare family when she was just two-months-old. As working parents, sometimes you feel guilty not being able to be home with your child. However, we know that KinderCare is the right place for her and take comfort in the quality education and care she is given. We have come to know that the learning and social opportunities afforded her are well beyond what we would be able to provide if one of us was a stay-at-home parent. Our daughter is now two-and-a-half years of age and is able to communicate and demonstrate her knowledge well. She enjoys school, her teachers, and friends. She is a curious and enthusiastic learner, as demonstrated by the questions she asks, answers she forms, and through the songs she sings from school. She also has phenomenal social and sharing skills with others her age. The teachers and staff at KinderCare are compassionate and professional. They follow the curriculum provided and make it engaging for the children. They evaluate each child's needs and individualize the program to challenge and excite each young learner. In addition to the educational aspects, special care plans (under direction of the center's nurse) for students with various health needs are followed. We have been quite pleased with all the teachers who have worked with our daughter. As parents, we are appreciative of the communications we receive from the center. In additional to a wealth of informal anecdotes, there are daily progress reports, conferences, student assessments, newsletters, and phone calls. Boo-boo's are bound to happen with a toddler, and we are pleased to get a phone call and report when an "accident" has occurred and TLC has been provided. We are so very thankful to everyone who has made KinderCare of New Milford our daughter's "home away from home.

- Parents

What can I say? I love KinderCare! My son Tyler first started going when he was 18-months-old and he's five-and-a-half now. My daughter Brooke, who is now two, has been going since she was three-months-old. Each room, from the infant room right through to the school age room, has the most caring, compassionate teachers you will every find. Both my children have learned so much, from their ABC's, 1,2,3's, cooking, singing, sharing and just what it means to be surrounded by wonderful people that really care. Every morning that I bring my daughter in, we are both greeted with a "Good Morning" from the director. And then once we get to her room, her teacher loves sharing a story about her. I smile every time my two-year-old says, "It's circle time" at home because she enjoys circle time at KinderCare every day. I also love reading the daily reports that tell me everything she did for the day. My son is in full-day Kindergarten now, so he only goes after school and every day there is an early dismissal or school closing. I am comforted by the fact that he is being dropped off by the bus at a place where he is safe and loved and has fun at until I pick him up. My children mean more to me than anything in the world, and I am so happy that I chose KinderCare to be their "home away from home".

- Mother

KinderCare has been the perfect place for my son and step-son. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and they always have the best interest of the children in mind. They offer great 'extra curricular' activities such as phonics and cooking, and the kids always seem busy. KinderCare was the first daycare center my son attended, and the teachers made him feel comfortable and welcome from the first minute. I highly recommend this facility to anyone.

- Father

Any loving parent would have understandable reservations about the childcare and staff with whom you entrust with your child's safety, development and well being in the course of the work week. So, when we placed our three-year-old daughter (she's now just three months beyond her fourth birthday) with KinderCare in New Milford, we were hyper vigilant to recognize anything that might impede the welfare of our precious child's development and environment. In the nearly two years that we've had our child at KinderCare, we have been highly impressed with the professionalism and dedication of the staff at KinderCare. They have been more than accommodating when we have requested a parent-teacher conference or just a brief update on how our child has been progressing. Although from the vantage point of a parent our direct experience is limited comparative to the full day that our child spends at KinderCare, I suppose the more convincing testimony would be that of our daughter. She is quite articulate for her age and, as with most children, imitates what they observe. Her most recent performance in a self-regulating comment at home, "Zip it, lock it, and put it in your pocket!" You would have had to witness it to get the full adorable impact. Coupled with her creative and learning development that KinderCare affords our child, she enthusiastically looks forward to being at KinderCare. She loves "circle time," sensory activities, etc. There are times that she is at KinderCare for 10 hours, and when we arrive she has always been engaged with some programming, structure, or activity that she is enjoying. Our child often comes home with several "honorable mentions" about the staff. She has bonded nicely with staff members and the other children (comprised of mostly boys), but I'm certain it's a credit to the zeal and commitment of KinderCare staff and leadership. We would highly recommend KinderCare in New Milford, Connecticut.
