Accreditation

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Cooking

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

Math

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

  1. Sunday January 01, 2017
    1. January's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Light and Dark, plus the Sky and Weather

Through shadow play, experiments with flashlights, observing the Sun and more, infants and toddlers will enjoy learning about light and dark this month. Infants continue sensory development by looking at contrasting patterns and at objects that are clearly defined by sharp edges and bright colors, while toddlers will build on their understanding of the light and dark concepts with play around daytime and nighttime. The older Discovery Preschool children will turn their attention to the sky as they learn about weather, the Moon, the Sun, and stars.

Children 4–5 years old: Transportation, Healthy Bodies, and Winter

For children in the Preschool and Kindergarten classrooms, January is filled with variety! They’ll begin by learning about transportation and studying how things get from “here” to “there.” A few weeks later, the focus will shift to health and bodies, with an emphasis placed on how to make good choices for a growing body. Towards the end of the month, children will be introduced to the transformative nature of the winter season and learn how to dress and take care of themselves when it’s cold outside.

  • Ms. Kayla

Ms. Kayla, Infants Classroom/Health and Safety Coordinator

I enjoy being in the infant classroom. The snuggles are the best. Some people don't realize how much infants and young children understand. They might not have the verbal skills to tell you what they know, but they understand a lot. We work on Baby Sign Language in our classroom. This is important because it helps the child to communicate before they have those verbal skills.

Kayla loves coming to work and doing messy artwork with the children! She especially enjoys giving them a blank piece of paper, materials, and watching them use their imagination to create something that they become so proud of! Kayla's favorite part of her job is seeing them learn, grow and turn into little individuals.

Kayla is our Learning Adventures teacher for our Cooking Adventures class. Kayla has also worked in the Discovery Preschool Classroom.

I love what I do. I love being able to help children learn and achieve their goals. I get satisfaction when they are proud of their accomplishments. My part in this is to keep a positive attitude which creates a positive learning environment for them. It is their foundation to build upon while learning in the classroom.

Children have always had a huge place in Tasha’s heart and played a big part of her life. Growing up she always loved to play school with her younger siblings and watch them learn & grow. Julie has worked for KinderCare since May 2014. Her son has been a student at KinderCare since 2008 and her daughter started in 2013. She says that KinderCare is awesome...She definitely has felt like family from the beginning. As a cook she prepares breakfast, lunch and snack. In addition she helps out in the center where ever she is needed.

    1. December's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Family, Friends, and Things that Go!

Infants and toddlers will be exploring family and friends, while three-year-olds will focus on things that go vroom! Social and emotional development is foundational to growth and development in babies, so this month, infants and toddlers will participate in activities that reinforce their connection to family while also exploring connections that exist outside their home, such as friends. Meanwhile, their older friends in Discovery Preschool will learn about and play around with things that move (like bicycles, cars, buses, trains, and airplanes), which are all very exciting for little ones as they continue to explore the world outside their homes.

Children 4–5 years old: My Country + Tools and Machines

The four- and five-year-olds continue exploring the world around them by learning about the state and country they live in! They’ll sings songs, play games based on travel, and learn about flags, state foods, and more. Children will also be introduced to cardinal directions (east, west, north, and south) and gain an appreciation for travel and meeting new friends from different places.

Children are naturally fascinated with machines and how things work and are put together. So to encourage that fascination, during the second half of this month children will learn about and play around with tools and machines. In addition to building literacy skills by using the names of machines and tools, children will develop math skills by graphing information, counting wheels, and more.

Health and Safety

The health and safety of the children and the families we serve is very important to us at KinderCare. Our center has a keypad entry system at the main entrance;Families are given an entrance code but visitors must ring the doorbell for entrance. Parents are welcome to visit their child at anytime. We have all visitors check in at the front desk before entering our classrooms. If a visitor is picking up a child with parental consent we require photo identification prior to releasing the child to the visitor. Our center also offers the closed classroom concept for added security meaning that each class has its own room and door. Our playgrounds are secured with a tall wooden privacy fence that is locked at all times. Also, all of our staff mambers have a certification in CPR and First Aid.

At KinderCare, what families say about us means a lot. Read below some of the great experiences our families have had with us.

We LOVE KinderCare!!! Prior to having our daughter, KinderCare was our first choice but being first time parents, we rationalized that she should receive the same level of care and cleanliness everywhere (said with a smile). So we made our decisions based upon financial reasons.  We opted for a non-profit, church center and by 10 months, she had been exposed to RSV, whooping cough and hand, foot & mouth in her infant classroom.  While I was on a business trip, the center had a case of E.Coli and our daughter was only eating 1 oz of milk per day for them.  We chose to remove her from that center immediately and toured KinderCare again.  This time our requirements had changed and we were looking for a center with sensory learning activities, a curriculum, routine/structure (but not rigid) and impeccable cleaning procedures. KinderCare fulfilled all of our needs.  At the time, they were actively looking for an additional teacher in the infant classroom, and we were placed on a waiting list They kept us informed of their progress and notified us when an opening was available.  It was worth the wait!!
It is so fun to hear our daughter sing new songs, identify animals that we didn't know she knew or to say new words that we don't use (i.e. tennis shoes). At two, she's now participating in elective music and cooking classes.
We cannot rave enough about the KinderCare team!  It really surprised us that teachers from the school age classroom know our daughter.  We really feel like she is truly loved from the teachers to the management team!

KinderCare is the best thing that has happened to my husband and I and our three kids! We had taken them to an in home daycare prior to coming to KinderCare and I always worried about them.  My baby would be in a swing all by himself in the kitchen.  He had no interactions from anyone.  It made me so sad. Then KinderCare came into our lives! My kids are so happy now. They even ask on the weekends if they could go to KinderCare.  They are always doing activities to keep them busy. The staff is amazing! They are so gentle and kind.  Thank you, KinderCare! We love you!

We have been KinderCare customers for years and we wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else! We enjoy being greeted by friendly staff each morning and we haven’t had a teacher we didn’t love. It’s nice to be able to feel confident that your child is in good hands when you leave them for the day. Our youngest, Delaney, has food allergies which was a major concern for us leaving her in someone else’s care. But Janice, Michaela and the rest of the KinderCare staff have been wonderful about making sure she isn’t given things she shouldn’t have, never hesitating to call and check with us if they have any questions. Delaney is even able to enjoy the cooking classes they offer as the class teacher is kind enough to modify the recipes for her to accommodate her food allergy. We love seeing the big smile on Delaney’s face when she brings home her creations from cooking class!

I couldn't be more blessed to have such a wonderful team of caregivers with my children. Makala and Owen enjoy the time they spend at the West A KinderCare.  I hear about new activities, topics, and projects that the kids have done on a weekly, sometimes daily, basis.  I know they enjoy their teachers when my little guy shows them his smile in the mornings and is ready to give them hugs.  Makala is usually deep into a project when I come to pick her up at the end of the day and then wants to stay and finish it.  Thanks to everyone at the West A KinderCare for keeping me well informed of my children's learning, health and well-being.  You make it easier for me, knowing that my kids are at a place I trust and can feel comfortable.

I enrolled my children at the KinderCare on West A street in May of 2012. I chose KinderCare because of the classroom setting (what a fantastic way to get children ready for school!!) and the secured entry. After meeting with the center director and the teachers I knew I had made a good choice. My daughters were 2 & 4 at the time they started attending. They are now 4 & 5 and they look forward to going to, as they call it, "school" everyday. We love the center.  It's a warm and welcoming feel when you walk in. The kitchen is always cooking up something yummy that smells delicious. My 5 year old started kindergarten this year and thanks to the hard work her teachers put in with her she is ahead of were she needs to be for reading! My 4 year old knows all her colors and numbers (1-10) in Spanish! I'm so very pleased with all of the teachers at this center. They go above and beyond. They know all the children by first name and take the time to stop and say "hi" to every child that walks through the door. They have great lines of communication with the parents and work hard to keep the class rooms calm, clean, fun, and safe. They prepare fun projects & have great ways to involve all the children in everything.

My child has been enrolled in KinderCare on West A since August of 2012.  We absolutely love KinderCare, all of the teachers are very friendly and so welcoming.  She has learned her letters, how to spell her name, her colors, counting and much more.  Every morning she loves to get up and get ready to go to "school", she can't wait to see her teachers and her friends.  I love all the fun activities that they have at their center, like the Color Run, Family Fun Night, Book Fair, Winter Gala to name a few.  I feel like this center is doing a great job with my daughter and I am so happy with the care she is receiving here.
