Welcome

Our center is conveniently located near the Energy Corridor District just west of downtown Houston. With over 300 international, national and local companies headquartered in this area, we are prepared to work with families that are new to Houston. Several of our families are not just new to Houston, but new to the United States; with almost all of them speaking a language other than English at home with their children. Our trained staff has worked with many families of many different cultures with respect of adjustments to a new home, school, foods and languages.

Accreditation

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Cooking

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

Math

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Spanish

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with the Spanish language. Music, games, children's Spanish literature, and other tools give children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language for vocabulary and conversational development. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers, colors, animals, family, body parts and pets as well as how to get engage conversationally during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo. Health and Safety

At Brimhurst KinderCare your child's safety is one of our top priorities. The front door of the building has a key coded entry system. Our playgrounds are fenced with splash pads for the children to play on in our "hot" Houston summers. All staff are CPR and First Aid certified in addition to regular criminal background checks. Our menu is specifically designed to meet the children's nutritious needs with food allergies kept in mind.

At KinderCare, what families say about us means a lot. Read below some of the great experiences our families have had with us.

If you have a story about your experience at KinderCare, please share your story with us.

Visited a lot of day cares before deciding on this one. Brought my son here at 2 months old. Now he's two years old. Every teacher he's had have been wonderful. So caring. Love that every day I pick him up they tell me something about his day. Before my second baby arrived, I looked for another day care - a place more affordable since now there would be two kids in day care. Only stayed at the other day care for a week and a half. After knowing how a great day care should be run, every day at that other day care was a disappointment. Glad to be back at this KinderCare where I already know and trust the staff. From the last day care we were at and the many others that I toured, this is the best day care. The teachers LOVE the children! Any time of the day I visit, the teachers are providing a happy and loving environment for the them. I love the art projects and pictures they send home and hearing about the activities they're doing. Everyone here is very friendly, open, and welcoming. Also the playground is nicer than at other day cares - here there's lots of space, grass and trees.

- Mother

This is one the best from our experience, conveniently located in the energy corridor…!!

We enrolled our DD in this daycare when she was 1.5, all the teachers are freaking awesome, my kid had had an amazing time. She did not complain going to this facility, she loves all the teachers there in her class and others as well. I have to give a shout out to Ms. Yolanda, Ms Ana, Ms Ludy, Ms Shasta, Ms Diana..etc a lot of name that I’m forgetting bu they all are great with kids.

- Father

It is important to every parent to know that their child's care is entrusted to the best you can find and afford. Our family believes we have found that with KinderCare Brimhurst. The staff is very caring and engaging and tries to acclimate new children to the center. The director, Sarah, is very flexible and works with every family to ensure that the experience at KinderCare Brimhurst is the best possible. Both our children enjoy their time here and we continue to send them here year after year. We are looking forward to another great summer of fun activities.

- Father

I came here to Houston with my daughter almost year ago from Europe, my daughter couldn't even say "hello" in English. We enrolled her at KinderCare to try how it will be. Of course the first couple weeks it was with some tears, but then because of her daily mornings routine with Ms. Sara, and sometimes Holly at the office, she was geting better and better. She spent three months there and after that time they all taught her so so much! I was so proud of her and I think the teachers were too. They did such a good job with her. I can't be thankful enough for what they all did together. She is now at Barbara Bush Elementary school in Kindergarten and she can speak English better than me sometimes. Ema is very excited to spend summer at KinderCare at Brimhurst. Thank you to Sara, Holly, Rosie and Catina! YOU GUYS ARE PERFECT!

- Mother

I enrolled my second son at Brimhurst KinderCare when he was around 13-months-old. He is now in the Prekindergarten classroom, getting ready to start Kindergarten this upcoming August. Just moving to Houston from Rhode Island, we were welcomed immediately by all the staff at Brimhurst. My son is still going to give hugs and say his goodbyes each day to his former teachers in previous classrooms till this day! Then when grandpa comes to town to visit, he makes his grandpa take him to KinderCare each day that he isn’t there to say “hi” to all of his teachers and his friends! Additionally, the phonics program he is enrolled in has helped him tremendously! I trust KinderCare and their staff 100% with my children.

- Mother

The learning enrichment programs offered at KinderCare are phenomenal. My son has learned so much from the phonics program. His teachers recommended me to sign him up for phonics class when he was two years old to improve his confidence in communication since English is not our first language. Just recently, as I was driving home from KinderCare, my son said "Mommy, what is Pep Boys?" I thought for a moment, how did he know that? OMG, from phonics class! Then I explained to him what Pep Boys is, and he wanted to go in and buy something for my car! I thought this was so wonderful! He has now advanced into reading class they also offer at KinderCare.

I have been a KinderCare parent since 2008 and my first born was only three-months-old. At that time, I was a first-time parent looking for the perfect place for my child. When I met the director, Sara, she put my anxious feelings to rest. She was open to answer any questions I had and willing to do what it took to make the adjustment easier for me. I was a first-time parent facing the hard task of going back to work and leaving my child in other people's care. It somehow made it easier knowing that I was welcome to call anytime to check on my little one and always be able to chat with her caregivers about her day when picking her up. KinderCare helped my child through many transitions such as bottle to cup, no pacifier, and no diapers! The KinderCare staff has helped me as a parent with welcomed suggestions and help along the way to grow as a parent. This is why when I was pregnant again with my second child, there was no question where he would spend his day - at KinderCare. My first child still enjoys coming to KinderCare for after school care as well. KinderCare is a part of our family now. Thank you KinderCare!
