Accreditation

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Cooking

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

Math

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

  1. Sunday January 01, 2017
    1. January's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Light and Dark, plus the Sky and Weather

Through shadow play, experiments with flashlights, observing the Sun and more, infants and toddlers will enjoy learning about light and dark this month. Infants continue sensory development by looking at contrasting patterns and at objects that are clearly defined by sharp edges and bright colors, while toddlers will build on their understanding of the light and dark concepts with play around daytime and nighttime. The older Discovery Preschool children will turn their attention to the sky as they learn about weather, the Moon, the Sun, and stars.

Children 4–5 years old: Transportation, Healthy Bodies, and Winter

For children in the Preschool and Kindergarten classrooms, January is filled with variety! They’ll begin by learning about transportation and studying how things get from “here” to “there.” A few weeks later, the focus will shift to health and bodies, with an emphasis placed on how to make good choices for a growing body. Towards the end of the month, children will be introduced to the transformative nature of the winter season and learn how to dress and take care of themselves when it’s cold outside.

  • Ms. Louise

    Ms. Louise, Infant Classroom

It is most fulfilling to see my life come full circle, from my first career as a mother of four children to my present career of helping to guide and care for the countless children entrusted to my care.

Louise is a mother of four grown children and the proud grandma of the "fab five." Although her academic pursuits brought her from a study of Drafting at LaSalle University to Art at SUNY Rockland, it wasn't until September 2000 that she found her niche working as an after-school teacher for school-age students. She followed this path to preschoolers and eventually to her position as a Infant room teacher in March 2006. Louise credits the enjoyments of her own motherhood for her passion for caring for the littlest among us. Her greatest reward in the hugs she gets from the students years after they have left her direct care. That is when she knows her efforts and compassion are paying real dividends.

    1. December's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Family, Friends, and Things that Go!

Infants and toddlers will be exploring family and friends, while three-year-olds will focus on things that go vroom! Social and emotional development is foundational to growth and development in babies, so this month, infants and toddlers will participate in activities that reinforce their connection to family while also exploring connections that exist outside their home, such as friends. Meanwhile, their older friends in Discovery Preschool will learn about and play around with things that move (like bicycles, cars, buses, trains, and airplanes), which are all very exciting for little ones as they continue to explore the world outside their homes.

Children 4–5 years old: My Country + Tools and Machines

The four- and five-year-olds continue exploring the world around them by learning about the state and country they live in! They’ll sings songs, play games based on travel, and learn about flags, state foods, and more. Children will also be introduced to cardinal directions (east, west, north, and south) and gain an appreciation for travel and meeting new friends from different places.

Children are naturally fascinated with machines and how things work and are put together. So to encourage that fascination, during the second half of this month children will learn about and play around with tools and machines. In addition to building literacy skills by using the names of machines and tools, children will develop math skills by graphing information, counting wheels, and more.

All of our staff members are CPR and First Aid certified, and we also have four staff members that are MAT (medication) certified.

At KinderCare, what families say about us means a lot. Read below some of the great experiences our families have had with us.

Share Your Story
If you have a story about your experience at KinderCare, please share your story with us.

When my daughter was six months old we enrolled her in an in-home daycare and were very disappointed at the care received. My daughter had colic and needed to be held or sit upright most of the day; this in-home daycare was unable to take care of her and left us without care at the last minute. The Breezewood KinderCare was recommended to us. They took us in and treated my daughter as though she were one of their own. I felt comfortable from the start that she would be well taken care of. I cannot say enough about how much we love everyone here!

- Parent

Previously, my son attended another daycare company. Due to an unpleasant experience, we decided to find another alternative. We then found ourselves needing care because I found out I was having another baby. I had to find a place that felt comfortable to my heart where I could bring both new baby and our son, which scared me due to the previous issues we had with the other company.

Upon meeting the people at the Breezewood KinderCare, I can say I have nothing but positive words to say.  Ms. Kristie, the Director, and Ms. Wendy, the Assistant Director, have an open-door policy that they stick to maintaining with parents. I can also say that I feel comfortable talking to any of the teachers and office staff at this center.  All of the employees are kind and caring, so I never have to wonder if my children are being well cared for, which is one of the things, as a mom, I used to worry about.  People also worry about cost, but they have kept their cost affordable compared to other centers.

In regards to their programs, my infant daughter loves it here.  We have been there almost a year and my daughter is excelling in everything. They have a more hands-on infant program, which is wonderful for us and her development. Instead of putting your child in a jumper or play yard, they read, sing and work with them on their motor skills.  They also keep me well informed on my baby’s progress so I can continue working with her at home.  Additionally, my son now goes there for their summer camp and has a blast. His program features field trips, swimming days, and a lot of activities planned for the school age kids.

Overall, I would like to thank the people at Breezewood KinderCare for making such a difference in my life!

- Mother

After three years of family care my husband and I found ourselves in need of a daycare facility. My daughter is three and was going to attend a private preschool in the fall when our situation changed and we needed a full time daycare facility for her and our son, who is soon to be two. After meeting with a few daycare centers, I was becoming more and more reluctant. I decided to give it one last chance and contacted KinderCare. I must have called Ms. Kristen a dozen times with questions before I enrolled my children and she kindly answered each and every one of them. I visited the facility a few times before I enrolled my children. I had so many fears and anxiety when the first day came. The staff did so much to help me calm those fears, beginning with drop off, where Ms. Sharon made me and my daughter feel comfortable when we arrived. I didn’t want to leave my daughter standing there crying, my heart was breaking for her. Ms. Sharon took us to Ms. Tanya for drop off and, unfortunately ,the time had come for me to say goodbye. When I turned back around before the door closed, I saw Ms. Tanya bend down and looked to be hugging my daughter and immediately I was left with only the anxiety, not the fears. She wasn’t doing that for my benefit, she could no longer see me. She was doing that for my daughters benefit, even with other kids all trying to get her attention. Ms. Sharon in the meantime was ensuring me that how I felt was normal and I would feel that way for days to come. Due to my hours, I do not get a lot of interaction with her teachers, but she is always eager to tell me about her day. She says every day “I was crying but now I am smiling.” She told me that her teacher says that to her. She tells me that her teacher is always smiling. It makes me feel more comfortable knowing that they are taking the time to make my daughter comfortable.

My son enrolled a week later and that was a whole other adjustment. My son is sensitive and can be, at times, very difficult. I wanted to make sure that I felt comfortable that the staff was going to give him the time and attention he needed. He is a terrible sleeper and wakes up very cranky from him naps. All of these things made me fearful to leave him at daycare. I was certain that strangers would not be able to calm him down and they would be calling me to come get him. That was before I met Ms. Deborah. My son took to Ms. Deborah immediately, but more importantly, Ms. Deborah took to him. Ms. Deborah is there when I drop him off in the mornings and in two short weeks I already feel comfortable leaving him with her, even if he is still crying when I leave. Often he is still crying when I leave but when he sees Ms. Deborah he will reach for her. He might not stop crying but clearly Ms. Deborah is treating him wonderful if he wants to go with her. Ms. Deborah will tell him she needs to finish something up. It makes me happy knowing that she is willing to engage with him. She will make sure everything is in order and everyone cared for and content and she will then take him from me. I often leave with her holding my son, rocking him. I have not had a lot of face to face interaction with Ms. Lindsay but every time I call she is always willing to speak with me and tell me how my son's day is going, and never acts annoyed that I have called. Ms. Kaycee has been fantastic in relaying information from Ms. Lindsay to me. My son always seems calm and happy when he is in Ms. Kaycee’s care. She always takes the time I need to feel comfortable knowing about his day when I pick him up. She never rushes me out the door or makes me feel like a nuisance for asking too many questions. On a good day she will say our son "did so wonderful today”. It makes me happy that she is personalizing with him and makes me feel like he is cared for a child not a paycheck. She is very genuine when she tells me about his day, and it makes me feel very comfortable.

Beside the obvious of wanting to feel comfortable with the staff, the most important thing I was looking for was education. I wanted to make sure that my children would be learning, as well as having fun. Every day my daughter tells me something new that Ms. Yudis has taught her that day. My son has already started to use his words better, and in a very short time has become a better communicator. He not only uses his words better but he has begun to incorporate sign language. All clear signs that my children are being taught, as well as they are being cared for at KinderCare. While I am nowhere near the comfortable phase as a whole, I am already well ahead on my comfort level than I ever thought. I want to thank everyone at KinderCare that has made that happen. Ms. Kristen and Ms. Wendy have both been so helpful and are truly available any time you need them.
