We would like to welcome you to the Taney Avenue KinderCare. We are each committed to providing all of our families with the best experience in early childhood education. At this location, we have been serving families under the KinderCare Learning Center name since 1979. We are NAEYC accredited and pride ourselves in following the criteria guidelines set forth by both NAEYC and KinderCare Learning Centers. We believe in fostering the "Whole Child" by providing enrichment and activities that ensure each child excels socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. Our family oriented center provides a warm, nurturing atmosphere for the children. We also make safety of our entire "KinderCare Family" here a priority. We have a Health and Safety Coordinator with over five years of experience in the position. She ensures all safety guidelines are followed daily. Our staff has an impressive total of 70 years of experience working for KinderCare Learning Centers. We feel confident that our many years of experience, as well as our deep commitment and dedication, will provide your family with ease and assurance in your decision making process when choosing a Learning Center. We look forward to serving your family in the future.
Diane Thomas, Center Director
Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.
Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.
As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.
At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.
As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.
Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.
Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.
Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.
KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.
The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.
Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.
Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.
Your whole family is welcome to join us September 13th for our community social. Summer is winding down, Fall is approaching and that means it’s Back to School season! Here at Taney Avenue KinderCare we pride ourselves on being known for our small homey feel. Our staff truly strives to build meaningful relationships with the children and families! We are extremely happy to say that more than 50 percent of our staff has been with KinderCare for five or more years. It is also important for our families to know that every teacher in our building is early childhood certified to teach in their assigned classrooms. When hiring new staff we try our best to hire teachers that seem to have a true love for teaching and a desire to work for KinderCare.
I value the relationships I hold with the staff, children and families here!

I have always enjoyed working with children, especially when they are just discovering the world.
Hi there! I’m Liz Graham. I am an assistant teacher in the discovery preschool classroom. I’m originally from New Jersey where I worked at two different daycares. I recently graduated from Towson University, where I attended several education courses. I will be working towards my Child Development Associate, in the near future. I believe that every child needs a bright, diverse, and welcoming environment to achieve their full potential and I enjoy providing that kind of environment for them.
Give Respect and Take Respect
My name is Resmi Nair and I have been working at KinderCare since May 2005. I was previously working at a KinderCare in Wisconsin where I had worked for seven years before I transferred to this KinderCare around a year ago. I am so excited to be the Tutorial Specialist for this center. My two children were a part of the math and phonics tutorial program at KinderCare growing up. I attribute those classes to their advanced placement in their classes at public school today. I look forward to making new memories here at my new home at KinderCare.
My name is Amanda Wright. I am the School Age teacher here at KinderCare. I have a five year old daughter named Lanessa and am recently engaged to my boyfriend of 10 years. I have an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Ashford University. After I graduated I chose to start my own at-home daycare. After two years I decided to become a KinderCare teacher in order to get more experience with children. I love working with children because they are funny and are always ready to learn more. I love that when I am teaching them something new, they are learning because of me. That makes me very excited!

We observe the following holidays:
Please note that because holidays observed may vary between centers, please be sure to check with your Center Director for specific closures.
We have a health and safety coordinator, Megan Bradshaw, who is designated to take care of the monthly health and safety calendar as well as ensure staff are following all health and safety procedures. Along with having a health and safety coordinator our center itself has built in safety devices to ensure that all children are safe and secure in our building. All families must enter a code into our exterior keypad in order to gain entrance into the school. We ask that families do not share the code with others. If another adult is coming to pick up your child we ask that you have them ring our door bell so that we can properly check their identification before releasing him/her to that person's care.
