AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited–nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference, and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

Our kids are taking off!

By kindergarten, our kids are testing ahead of their peers. Read all about it.

Accreditation

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Transitional Kindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

A program for children who missed the kindergarten cutoff date. If your child completed or mastered prekindergarten but did not meet the cutoff date for kindergarten, this is the right choice for you. Enhanced whole-group activities and project-related learning activities help engage children in key competency areas such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Cooking

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

Math

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Teachers & Staff

Our team of Early Childhood Educators strive to provide the highest quality of care for each child entering our program. Each child is important to us and our teachers strive to make their first school experience the best one yet!
Education is important to us not only for the children but for our teachers. All of our teachers hold either a Bachelors Degree, Associates Degree, Head Teachers Certificate or a Child Development Associate Credential. KinderCare is dedicated to our team of teachers and we think it's important that are teachers recieve training each year. All of teachers participate in professional development days. These days are used to enrich our teachers with new and exciting ideas to bring back to their classrooms.
Safety in our classrooms is also important. Our teachers are well prepared for emergencies because they are all First Aid & CPR Certified as well as Epi-Pen & Medication Certified.

    Nichole, Assistant Director

I am proud to lead a team of teachers who are passionate about creating an environment designed for learning.

Nichole, better known as Nikki, has been working at the Rocky Hill KinderCare since December 2000 and was there for it's grand opening in January 2001. After graduating from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Human Development and Family Relations in August 2000, she worked at a small in-home preschool program, but soon realized this was not the type of environment in which her talents as a teacher could truly flourish. She joined the Rocky Hill KinderCare team shortly thereafter as a Preschool teacher. Her hands-on teaching style provided her students with fun and engaging learning experiences. She truly has a passion for working with children, and believes that by making learning fun it encourages children to reach their full potential. She moved into the Assistant Director role at this center in 2003 and is excited to bring her knowledge and experience as an educator into her role as Center Director in the place she considers her second home. She is genuinely honored to be able to impact the lives of so many children and families.

August's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: All About Me and Dinosaurs
Infants and toddlers will learn all about themselves while kids in Discovery Preschool will take a look at our favorite extinct creatures: dinosaurs! Infants will look at their reflections in mirrors, listen to voices through cardboard tubes to encourage babbling, and practice self-expression as they move while listening to music. Toddlers will create body-related artwork (like paintings of their faces) and imagine the future as they pretend to be all grown up while playing dress-up. Meanwhile, children in Discovery Preschool are in for a “dinomite” time learning all about dinosaurs and their habitats, and they’ll build essential skills through fun, theme-related activities—like counting dinosaur eggs and going on pretend fossil hunts!

Children 4 to 5 years old: Foods and Flavors, Shapes and Colors, and Alphabet Letters/Review
For the first two weeks of August, older children will be learning all about the basic food groups, where food comes from, and how to make healthful food choices. After that, preschoolers will be getting artsy as they explore shapes and colors using materials like blocks, paint, play dough, and colored water—and they’ll even take their knowledge outdoors with scavenger hunts for colors and shapes! Their older friends in Pre-K and Transitional Kindergarten will be getting up close and personal with the alphabet as they learn uppercase and lowercase letters, the sounds the letters make, and how those sounds can be combined to make words—all culminating with the creation of a classroom alphabet book.

Health and Safety

The safety of your child(ren) is our number one priority here at our center. As you enter our building you will see that the door is secured with a security keypad. Our building is fully gated in and the doors to our outside play areas are always locked once our children and classrooms return inside from their outdoor play. Your child will always be in the hands of a caregiver who is both First Aid and CPR Certified. Half hour child, name to face attendance is conducted to ensure the safety of your child(ren). Emergency evacuation procedures are practiced on a monthly basis to ensure in any event that your child is safe and secure. At KinderCare, what families say about us means a lot. Read below some of the great experiences our families have had with us.

Share Your Story
If you have a story about your experience at KinderCare, please share your story with us.

The teachers at KinderCare in Farmington have displayed a very caring nature towards our child. The Center Director, Assistant Director, Program Specialist, and teachers are very friendly and treat everyone with great respect. They are very polite and patient in handling our concerns and queries. Though initially we were very apprehensive about our son staying away from us for eight hours each day, they have made us feel very comfortable and our son thoroughly enjoys his days at KinderCare. Also the daily information sheet is filled out by the teachers, with care, to provide us with specific details on how he ate, how long he slept, and what he did throughout the day! We enjoy reading it. To sum it up, our whole experience with KinderCare and the teachers has been positive!

- Father

Kindercare has cared for, nurtured, and taught my son since he was five months old. Now he is five years old, and started Kindergarten this fall. He loves it and did great with the transition - in large part, I believe, because of the strong educational, social, and emotional foundation the teachers and staff at KinderCare have given him. Thank you KinderCare!

- Mother

My family enjoys listening to how much fun my daughters have had each day at school. The teachers have helped my children become curious little girls and i couldn't ask for more! The patience and understanding they exhibit everyday is incredible! Thank you!
