We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited–nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference, and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

By kindergarten, our kids are testing ahead of their peers. Read all about it.

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Private Kindergarten Programs (5 – 6 Years)

As children reach school age, our comprehensive full-day kindergarten program helps them explore, communicate, and create – all in a nurturing, small-class setting. Our team of expert educators has created a unique curriculum of reading, language, arts, math, science, and physical fitness that’s presented in a fun way to encourage a lifelong love of learning. Plus, our program is aligned with local and state elementary school standards, so children will be prepared to confidently enter first grade.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with the Spanish language. Music, games, children's Spanish literature, and other tools give children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language for vocabulary and conversational development. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers, colors, animals, family, body parts and pets as well as how to get engage conversationally during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo. Qué pasa?

Teachers & Staff

The loving and devoted professionals at Westside KinderCare are passionate about teaching and caring for young children. Our program is nationally accredited, which means we have ensured that our teachers exceed state minimum standards for education level and ongoing professional development. Their lifelong love of learning is evident in their desire to stay abreast of new research and teaching techniques. Families meet with teachers three times per year to review their child's progress, which is documented in our developmentally appropriate assessments, portfolios, and anecdotal notes about daily achievements. We feel privileged to work alongside families to form supportive and cooperative partnerships.

September's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Spaces and Places and All About Me
As infants and toddlers explore the spaces and places around them, children in Discovery Preschool will learn all about what makes people the same as well as what makes them different. Infants will experiment with moving toy cars around, build block towers and then knock them down, and even take a tour of the center to see what things are like outside of their classroom! Toddlers will get all revved up as they take a closer look at different vehicles and learn more about neighborhoods, communities, and the jobs that grownups have. In Discovery Preschool, children will be learning about themselves as they play games that strengthen their five senses, discuss feelings and emotions, practice self-help skills, and work on learning the names of body parts.

Children 4 to 5 years old: All About Me and My Home and Family
It’s the beginning of the school year—the perfect time to get to know each other better! Older children will be spending time sharing about themselves, their homes, and their families as they learn what makes people the same and what makes them different. Children will bring their own experiences to the drawing board as they create group stories and 3-D collages about families and homes, pantomime different home- and family-related activities, and draw self-portraits. With our curriculum’s project-related learning component, children in Transitional Kindergarten work together to decide on an individual or whole-group project related to the theme. Past projects have included creating a class book about emotions or working together to build a small-scale home, but who knows—the children may come up with a unique idea that’s entirely their own!

Health and Safety

Our top priority at Westside KinderCare is to provide a safe and healthy environment for our children, families, and staff. We do this through rigorous training and constant assessment and evaluation of proper policies and procedures. Your child’s security begins at the front door--literally. We have a locked security entrance that requires a numeric code to enter, with all side doors locked to ensure the security of the building. All guests or those authorized for emergency pick-ups must provide photo identification before being escorted through the building. Our teachers have all cleared local, state, and federal background checks, including fingerprinting, and have all been trained in infant and child CPR and First Aid. We do routine fire, storm, and lock-down drills to prepare for the unexpected. No child is ever left unattended, even for a minute. Teachers have all been trained in supervision, discipline and guidance, and developmentally appropriate practices to ensure they understand the risks associated with the children in their care. If your child has food allergies or specific medical conditions, we will work with you to ensure your child’s well-being while in our care. We also take the responsibility of your child’s emotional security very seriously: We want every child to feel safe, loved, and respected while at KinderCare.

At KinderCare, what families say about us means a lot. Read below some of the great experiences our families have had with us.

Share Your Story
If you have a story about your experience at KinderCare, please share your story with us.

It is my pleasure to write this letter on behalf of Westside KinderCare. My daughter was four years old when she became a student at the school/daycare. It was after she was dismissed from two other preschools for behavioral issues. I was very frustrated and desperate to start her back in daycare/preschool as I am a busy mom. When I met with Ms. Barbara, I knew my daughter was in good hands. Ms. Barbara and all of the teachers at Kindercare have been amazing with my daughter. They have been patient and have truly tried to understand why she does the things she does rather than continually punishing the bad behavior once it was complete. Because of this, we were all able to identify what might cause her to become upset, leading to the behavioral problems. I believe the combination of Ms. Barbara, therapy, and all of her amazing teachers have improved my daughter's behavior to the point where one of the preschools she had previously attended is willing to have her re-enroll in their school this upcoming year for kindergarten. On a side note, my daughter has already started to read and write! I am sure she is more than prepared for kindergarten in the fall.  She will not only be an excellent student, but a well-behaved one! Both my daughter and I will be very sad to leave KinderCare in the fall as she transitions to school-age years; however, I will never forget the patience and compassion they have had for my daughter. I strongly recommend KinderCare to parents looking for daycare/preschool in our area.

- Mother

My daughter has been attending KinderCare for almost four years and I have not had a single complaint about Ms. Barbara Kehr or her staff. Ms. Barbara and her staff have been invaluable assets and blessings to me and my family. In my opinion, choosing child care is one of the most important decisions a parent can make because every parent feels like no one is going to love or protect their child as much as they would--and personally, working in the law enforcement profession, I am overly protective of my daughter. I had researched many, many daycares before our relocation to El Paso, TX from San Antonio, TX four years ago, and I chose KinderCare because of Ms. Barbara and how warm, welcoming, and confident she made me feel regarding the new transition for my child. She did not want to leave her daycare in San Antonio; however, Ms. Barbara and her kind staff welcomed my daughter with open arms and tremendous amounts of love so that she felt safe, confident, and could not wait to go back the next day. Ms. Barbara and her staff have helped me tremendously with my daughter and her schooling. My daughter can be rather difficult at times, and Ms. Barbara and her staff have worked quite extensively with her during the challenging times and did not give up on her.  Ms. Barbara and her staff care greatly about the children (and their families) attending KinderCare. Ms. Barbara personally knows each parent and child, and knows and understands the individual needs of each child. Ms. Barbara and her staff are kind, compassionate, understanding, and have a lot of patience. I consider Ms. Barbara and her staff family because of their love for my daughter and their concern for her well-being and future. Being a single parent, I can honestly say that I do not know how I would have survived without Ms. Barbara and her staff, not only regarding my daughter, but also myself. Ms. Barbara has personally helped me (and my sanity) during some rather rough and difficult times with my daughter’s father and our ongoing three-year court battle. Ms. Barbara and her staff go above and beyond with the children at KinderCare. I am very happy with my decision to have my daughter attend Ms. Barbara’s facility, and consider myself a pretty lucky and blessed parent to have Ms. Barbara and her staff in our lives. They make this KinderCare facility the success that it is, and trying to summarize all that they do is nearly impossible. I will be forever grateful to them.

- Mother

I would like to thank you for all of the support and care you've provided to my son and I over the years. He turns seven on Friday, and he has been with KinderCare since the age of two. KinderCare has been an instrumental component of his development.  Not only does he have an appreciation for learning, art, and nature, but he has also made many dear friends and has the nurturing support of the staff. Even today, he continues to enjoy his time spent through KinderCare. He is a tremendous fan of the summer program and the Saturday art & cooking classes, and as a professional and single mom, I appreciate the before- and after-school program. The staff at Westside KinderCare have been very flexible and accommodating in working with my son's schedule when he had tutoring and early release. It is such a comfort to know that even when schools have in-services, parents may rely on KinderCare to provide age-appropriate activities which inspire and entertain, while providing healthy and nutritious snacks and meals. For all that you do, many thanks and appreciation. Please continue the amazing work!

- Mother

There is no other daycare/learning center such as KinderCare. It is definitely one of a kind. Why do we think that? Because KinderCare has been a part of our family for over 12 years. Our three children have/had experienced a wonderful time there. Ms. Barbara and staff have been an absolute blessing in our lives. Always open on time, greeting us each and every time we step foot in the facility, a great learning curriculum for each age group, an awesome summer program as well as after school transportation--the list goes on! All three of our children (senior, sixth grader, and kindergartner) enjoy school and are A/honor roll students. I absolutely believe it's because of the love, care, and teaching by Ms. Barbara and staff. We constantly talk to other friends and family about KinderCare and completely recommend them to everyone we meet. Thank you so much, Ms. Barbara. You have absolutely been so wonderful to us. It's gonna be heartbreaking the year our last kiddo is too old to attend KinderCare.

- Mother

I would like to take the time to recognize the excellent work that your staff does for our kids. It is very difficult to leave our beloved children in the care of other people, especially in a daycare in which one doesn’t feel that their child is happy being in. My oldest started off at a different daycare. I recall the emotional stress that I experienced with the daycare as I watched my child cry as I dropped him off, and cry as I picked him up. I remember the time that I first walked into the doors of Westside KinderCare. I was impressed to see how the staff was engaged and I saw and heard happy children. I enrolled my son hoping to have a better experience. To my surprise, I received more than I expected. The Teachers became our partners in education.  The funny thing was that my son continued to cry when I would pick him up, but this time it was because he wanted to stay and play. That was a sign that we were in the right place with the right people. My son has graduated now, and now I have another child who is four. Our family has been in partnership with your Teachers for approximately 13 years. It has been a pleasure for us to see our children flourish in their development. This is due to their dedication which is reflected in our children; and for this we would like to say with all our hearts…thank you!

- Parents

Our girls love to play "KinderCare" every single day. All their role playing is about their everyday experience at KinderCare, about their friends and, of course, about their beloved Teachers (one of the girls loves to be the Teacher, the other one is the student!), and all the great activities they take part in. It is not only the fun we have watching them role playing and to see how happy they are, it also makes us as their parents very happy. For us as parents, it is so important to know that our children enjoy their day in a happy, loving, safe learning environment. I can not believe that one of my girls already knows how to read such a great amount of her popcorn words, she knows how to count to 100! My other child starts speaking some words in Spanish to us, for example. Your Teachers have all the patience and experience to make learning a fun and successful experience for the kids. And on the other hand, whenever we have questions or need to talk to one of them, the doors are always open and they take the time to listen to us as well, as if it were the most natural thing in the world! We are looking forward to seeing our children growing up with their support and enjoying more fun family activities as well as their beloved field trips. Thinking outside the box is so important for them and this is what KinderCare lets them experience. Their team gives them the everyday routine, structure, and consistency they need to feel safe, secure, and comfortable. A special thanks to Ms. Barbara for making this KinderCare such a great and beloved place for our kids as well as for us as their parents. They have put all their heart and experience in there, this is what we feel every morning when their warm smiles welcome us and every afternoon when we pick up our happy and satisfied girls!

- Parents

Just a note to say how grateful we are for the wonderful care and compassion that the staff at Westside KinderCare show our son every day. Starting at a new school is never easy, but the Director, Ms. Cindy, and everyone else helped make his transition a smooth one. We especially appreciate the warm welcome note and class photo that came home with him on his first day of school last June, and the happy greetings he continues to receive every morning. We've seen a huge leap in our son's intellectual and social development since last summer, so we know that he is learning a lot in his Pre-K class while having fun, too. No matter what time of day we might show up at the center to pick him up, the kids are always actively engaged in an age-appropriate and fun activity, even when it's the end of a long day and the Teachers are probably just exhausted and ready to go home. This is a far cry from our previous daycare center, where after 2:30 p.m. the staff essentially "punched out" and the kids were bored and left to entertain themselves. It was really sad to see and especially frustrating for an active child like ours, who needs and wants stimulation and a structured schedule throughout the entire day. As a two-working parent household, we feel constant guilt over having our kids in school/daycare for such a long time (7:45 a.m.-5:45 p.m.). But the fact that when we pick up our son at the end of the day he complains to us that we "picked him up too early" reflects how comfortable and happy he is to be there! Thanks for everything you do!

- Parents

My experience at Westside KinderCare was very pleasant. Since the first day my girls attended, they were very happy there. The facility is nice and clean. They have this very nice outside play area with lots of space to run and play. The Teachers are awesome, they are very loving, responsible, and dedicated. My kids loved them so much. Ms. Barbara Kehr, the Center Director, is the nicest and most loving Director I ever met. She really cares about every single person who comes into the building (from the parents to the kids and even her staff). You can consider this place your kids' second home. Also, they accept CCS programs, which I think is very convenient. They deserve an A+.  In my opinion, this is the kind of daycare you would want your kids to attend.

- Mother

I am writing this letter to inform you of the outstanding service that my family has received over the past two decades from two KinderCare Learning Centers here in El Paso, Texas. KinderCare has provided the utmost caring and the best preschool education experience for children. The additional education they received has been priceless to their upbringing. They still speak of the memories that were created by their time with the KinderCare staff. They are all the epitome of what child care providers should be like and I want to take this opportunity to say “thank you, you are the best in the business!” The latest addition to our family currently attends the KinderCare Learning Center located on Enid Count, also in El Paso, Texas. We have seen our son improve drastically with his speech, learning, and motor skills ever since he began his journey at KinderCare. Ms. GiGi, Ms. Mila, and Ms. Rita, who currently care for our son, have demonstrated that they are also adhering to the same standards and essence set by Director Barbara and her team of dedicated providers. We are proud to say our kiddos are “KinderCare Kids.”

- Father and Mother

When it came time to find a daycare for my nine-month-old daughter, I knew I had only one option – Westside KinderCare. As a KinderCare child myself, I returned to the same center that I attended when my own mother needed quality child care more than 30 years ago. I never imagined that the same blessings afforded to me would be available to my own children. The minute I walked in it was like returning to a childhood home – some of the same staff that I adored were still there welcoming new families and innocent little lives and new faces, ready to greet the challenges associated with today’s child. The empowerment and personal growth of all children is absolutely the number one focus of the entire staff. During my first parental center visit, I immediately knew this was the extended family my children would come to know and love just as I did during my youth. My daughter is now five and reading at a second grade level and is able to discuss topics as wide and varied as Egyptian sarcophagi and the life cycle of butterflies. Through KinderCare’s expanded learning programs, she has also been exposed to other educational and social curricula, including Spanish-language classes, cultural diversity, and culinary arts. I have no doubt that her foundational academics were developed and fostered through the personal commitment of her teachers. My daughter is now attending kindergarten at our local public school and is excelling in all aspects of her educational, social, and personal goals.
My son’s experiences at KinderCare have been just as rewarding. My son has some unique challenges (don’t all kids!) and has needed some specialized and targeted intervention, both academically and behaviorally. I was never made to feel inadequate as a parent nor ashamed of my son’s struggles. One of the most rewarding aspects of quality child care is the feeling that I am working as a team with those who I entrust the care and development of my children. It is this teamwork that has allowed my son to excel and overcome whatever difficulties he encountered. He is now a child who demonstrates patience, strong verbal skills, and an amazing scope of knowledge well above that of other four-year-olds. I cannot relay the cherished emotions I have when discussing how much I love and appreciate the staff at my local KinderCare. They are not just Teachers to my children and the center is not just the place that I leave my kids as I go off to work. For over 25 years, the center has been a second home to our family – a place for friends, creativity, personal achievement, and the wonder of childhood. KinderCare is a testament to the old saying “The more things change, the more they stay the same.” The needs of today’s child have grown and evolved, but the love shown to our family always stays the same.
