We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited–nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference, and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

Our kids are taking off!

By kindergarten, our kids are testing ahead of their peers. Read all about it.

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Monthly Activities

March's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Amazing Animals

Animals really are amazing, and this month the children in the Infant and Toddler Classrooms are learning all about them. We’ll read about both domestic and wild animals and base our activities and play around them as well. Besides singing songs, crafting, and talking about different animals, we’ll also bring in pictures of our pets, make our own animal sounds and movements, and incorporate animals into cognitive, literacy, and mathematic learning appropriate for each age group. For example, the older children in Discovery Preschool will count goldfish crackers or spots on a dog, while the littlest ones will keep developing their senses by sorting and playing with stuffed animals that have different kinds of pretend fur. This is a very sweet and fun unit for children in each class!

Children 4–5 years old: The Sky and Weather + My Imagination

The four- and five-year-olds will turn their attention to the sky and explore the bounds of their own imaginations this month. Children will learn how clouds and different kinds of weather are created, and do fun theme-related activities like create whipped-topping storm clouds or pretend to be a weather reporter. Our Transitional Kindergarten class will take their learning even farther by doing basic research into how rainbows are formed. The second half of the month will give children a big chance to express themselves through art, music, and drama. We’ll use classic stories like The Three Little Pigs to spark children’s creativity and see where their imaginations lead. As always, we weave our themes into literacy and math activities, and place a focus on building both English and Spanish vocabulary.

Come get a sneak peek of summer at KinderCare during our Open House event, from April 10th – 14th.

At KinderCare, our summer adventures are designed for learning and fun. We love taking our experiments outside, having special guests visit our centers, and even exploring our senses on walks outside or by rolling around in the cool grass. We can’t wait to meet you and show you what makes our centers special and why we would love to spend our summer with you!

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Private Kindergarten Programs (5 – 6 Years)

As children reach school age, our comprehensive full-day kindergarten program helps them explore, communicate, and create – all in a nurturing, small-class setting. Our team of expert educators has created a unique curriculum of reading, language, arts, math, science, and physical fitness that’s presented in a fun way to encourage a lifelong love of learning. Plus, our program is aligned with local and state elementary school standards, so children will be prepared to confidently enter first grade.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with the Spanish language. Music, games, children's Spanish literature, and other tools give children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language for vocabulary and conversational development. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers, colors, animals, family, body parts and pets as well as how to get engage conversationally during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo. Qué pasa?

Teachers & Staff

Our loving and devoted professionals at KinderCare are passionate about teaching and caring for young children. As a nationally accredited child development program, our teachers exceed state minimum standards for education level and ongoing professional development. Their lifelong love of learning is evident in their desire to stay abreast of new research and teaching techniques. Families meet with teachers three times per year to review their child’s progress, which is documented in our developmentally appropriate assessments, portfolios and anecdotal notes about daily achievements. We feel privileged to work alongside families to form supportive and cooperative partnerships.

Health and Safety

Our top priority at KinderCare is to provide a safe and healthy environment for our children, families, and staff. We do this through rigorous training and constant assessment and evaluation of proper policies and procedures. Your child’s security begins at the front door, literally. We have a locked security entrance that requires a numeric code to enter. All side doors are kept locked to ensure the security of the exterior of the building. All guests or emergency pick-up people are identified and escorted through the building. Of course, our teachers have all cleared local, state, and federal background checks, including fingerprinting. We are trained in infant and child CPR and First Aid. We do routine fire, storm, and lock-down drills to prepare for the unexpected. Throughout the day, your child will be supervised at all times. No child is ever left unattended, even for a minute. Teachers have all been trained in supervision, discipline and guidance, and developmentally appropriate practices to ensure they understand the risks associated with the children in their care. If your child has food allergies or specific medical conditions, we will work with you to ensure your child’s well being while in our care. We also take the responsibility of your child’s emotional security very seriously. We want every child to feel safe, loved, and respected while at KinderCare.

At KinderCare, what families say about us means a lot. Read below some of the great experiences our families have had with us.

~~It is my pleasure to write this letter on behalf of Kindercare. My daughter was 4 years old when she became a student at the school/ daycare. It was after she was dismissed from 2 other pre-schools for behavioral issues. I was very frustrated and desperate to start her back in daycare/ pre-school as I am a busy mom. When I met with Barbara I knew my daughter Chloe was in good hands. Barbara and ALL of the teachers at Kindercare have been amazing with Chloe. They have been patient and have truly tried to understand why she does the things she does rather than continually punishing the bad behavior once it was complete. Because of this, we were all able to identify what might cause her to become upset leading to the behavioral problems. I believe the combination of Barbara, therapy and all of her amazing teachers have improved Chloe’s behavior to the point in which one of the pre-schools she had previously attended is willing to have her re-enroll in their school this upcoming year for Kindergarten. On a side note, Chloe has already started to read and write! I am sure she is more than prepared for Kindergarten in the fall.  She will not only be an excellent student but a well behaved one! Both Chloe and I will be very sad to leave Kindercare in the Fall as she transitions to school age years however I will never forget the patience and compassion they have had for my daughter. I strongly recommend Kindercare to parents looking for daycare/ pre-school in our area.

~~My daughter has been attending Kindercare for almost four years and I have not had a single complaint about Ms. Barbara Kehr or her staff.  Barbara and her staff have been invaluable assets and blessings to me and my family. In my opinion, choosing childcare is one of the most important decisions a parent can make because every parent feels like no one is going to love or protect their child as much as they would and personally working in the law enforcement profession, I am overly protective of my daughter.   I had researched many, many daycares before our relocation to El Paso, TX from San Antonio, TX four years ago, and I chose Kindercare because of Barbara and how warm, welcoming, and confident she made me feel regarding the new transition for Madison.  Madison did not want to leave her daycare in San Antonio, however Barbara and her kind staff welcomed my daughter with open arms and tremendous amounts of love that Madison felt safe, confident, and could not wait to go back the next day.
Barbara and her staff have helped me tremendously with my daughter, Madison, and her schooling.  Madison can be rather difficult at times, and Barbara and her staff have worked quite extensively with Madison during the challenging times that Madison has had and did not give up on her.  Barbara and her staff care greatly about the children (and their families) attending Kindercare.  Barbara personally knows each parent and child, and knows and understands the individual needs of each child.  Barbara and her staff are kind, compassionate, understanding, and have a lot of patience.  I consider Barbara and her staff family because of their love for Madison and her well-being and future.  Being a single parent, I can honestly say that I do not know how I would have survived without Barbara and her staff, not only regarding my daughter, but also myself. Barbara has personally helped me (and my sanity) during some rather rough and difficult times with my daughter’s father and our ongoing 3 year court battle.
Barbara and her staff go above and beyond with the children at Kindercare.  I am very happy with my decision to have my daughter attend Barbara’s facility, and consider myself a pretty lucky and blessed parent to have Barbara and her staff in our lives.  Barbara and her staff make this Kindercare facility the success that it is, and trying to summarize all that they do is nearly impossible.   I will be forever grateful to them.

Thank you,

Amanda Martinez

~~      I would like to thank you for all of the support and care you've provided to my son, Joshua, and I over the years.  He turns 7 on Friday, and he has been with Kindercare since the age of 2.  Kindercare has been an instrumental component of his development.  Not only does he have an appreciation for learning, art, and nature, but he has also made many dear friends and has the nurturing support of the staff.

Even today, he continues to enjoy his time spent through Kindercare.  Although he is a tremendous fan of the Summer Camp/ Program and the Saturday art & cooking classes, as a professional and single mom, I appreciate Kindercare's before and after school program.  You have been very flexible and accommodating in working with Joshua's schedule when he had tutoring and early release.  It is such a comfort to know that even when school's have in-services, parents may rely on Kindercare to provide age-appropriate activities which inspire and entertain, while providing healthy and nutritious snacks and meals.

For all that you do, many thanks and appreciation. Please continue the amazing work.

~~To whom it may concern,

There is no other daycare/learning center such as Kindercare. It is definitely one of a kind. Why do we think that? Because Kindercare has been apart of our family for over 12 years. Our three children have/had experienced a wonderful time there. Barbara and staff have been an absolute blessing in our lives. Always open on time, greeting us each and every time we step foot in the facility, a great learning curriculum for each age group, an awesome summer program as well as after school transportation. The list goes on!! All three of our children (senior, 6th grader and kindergartner) enjoy school and are A honor roll students. I absolutely believe it's because of the love, care and teaching by Barbara and staff. We constantly talk to other friends and family about Kindercare and completely recommend them to everyone we meet. Thank you so much Barbara. You have absolutely been so wonderful to us. It's gonna be heartbreaking the year our last kiddo is too old to attend Kindercare.

Forever grateful,

~~I would like to take the time to recognize the excellent work that your staff does for our kids.
It is very difficult to leave our beloved children in the care of other people, nonetheless in a daycare in which one doesn’t feel that their child is happy being in. My oldest, Anthony, started off at a different daycare. I recall the emotional stress that I experienced with the daycare as I watched my child cry as I dropped him off, and cry as I picked him up.
I remember the time that I walked into your doors.I was impressed to see how your staff was engaged and I saw and heard happy children. I enrolled my son hoping to have a better experience. To my surprise I received more than I expected. Your teachers became our partners in education.  The funny thing was that my son continued to cry when I would pick him up, but this time it was because he wanted to stay and play. That was a sign that we were in the right place with the right people.
My son has graduated from your learning center, and now I have Santiago that is four. Our family has been in partnership with your teachers for approximately thirteen years. It has been a pleasure for us to see our children flourish in their development. This is due to your dedication to your staff that is reflected in our children; and for this we would like to say with all our hearts …… Thank You!

~~Good morning dear Barbara and Team,

Just to let you and your wonderful team take part in the happy moments we lately had while enjoying some vacations together with our girls Pauline and Isabell.
They love to play "Kindercare" every single day. All their role playing is about their every day experience at Kindercare, about their friends and, of course about their beloved teachers (one of the girls loves to be the teacher, the other one is the student!), and all the great activities they take part in. It is not only the fun we have watching them role playing and to see how happy they are, it also makes us as their parents very happy.
For us as parents it is so important to know, that our children enjoy their day in a happy, loving, safe and also learning environment. I can not believe that Pauline already knows how to read such a great amount of her popcorn words, she knows how to count to 100! Isabell starts talking some words in Spanish to us, for example. Your teachers have all the patience and experience to make learning a fun and successful experience for the kids. And on the other hand whenever we have questions or need to talk to one of you, your doors are always open and you take the time to listen to us as well, as if it were the most natural thing in the world!
We are looking forward seeing our children growing up with your support and enjoying more fun family activities as well as their beloved field trips. Thinking outside the box is so important for them and this is what you let them experience. You and your team give them the everyday routine, structure and consistency they need to feel safe, secure and comfortable.

Barbara, special thanks to you for making this Kindercare Center such a great and beloved place for our kids as well as for us as their parents. You put all your heart and experience in there, this is what we feel every morning when your warm smile welcomes us and every afternoon when we pick up our happy and satisfied girls!

Yours Haffke-Family

~~Just a note to say how grateful we are for the wonderful care and compassion that you and the staff at Kindercare show Ari every day. Starting at a new school is never easy, but you, Ms. Cindy and everyone else helped make Ari's transition a smooth one. We especially appreciate the warm welcome note and class photo that came home with him on his first day of school last June, and the happy greetings he continues to receive every morning.

We've seen a huge leap in Ari's intellectual and social development since last summer so we know that he is learning a lot in his Pre-K class while having fun too. No matter what time of day we might show up at the center to pick him up, the kids are always actively engaged in an age-appropriate and fun activity, even when it's the end of a long day and the teachers are probably just exhausted and ready to go home. This is a FAR cry from our previous daycare center where after 2:30p the staff essentially "punched out" and the kids were bored and left to entertain themselves. It was really sad to see and especially frustrating for an active child like ours who needs and wants stimulation and a structured schedule throughout the entire day.

As a two-working parent household, we feel constant guilt over having our kids in school/daycare for such a long time (7:45a-5:45p). But the fact that when we pick up Ari at the end of the day he complains to us that we "picked him up too early" reflects how comfortable and happy he is to be there!

Thanks for everything you do!

~~   My experience at Kinder Care was very pleasant. Since the first day my girls attended, they were very happy there. The facility is nice and clean. They have this very nice outside play area with lots of space to run and play.  The teachers are awesome, they are very loving, responsible and dedicated.  My kids loved them so much. Ms Barbara Kehr, the Center Director is the nicest and loving Director I ever met. She really cares about every single person that comes into the building (from the parents to the kids and even her staff). You can consider this place your kids second home. Also, they accept CCS programs which I think is very convenient. They deserve an A+.  In my opinion, this is the kind of daycare you would want you kids to attend.

I am writing this letter to inform you of the outstanding service that my family has received over the past two decades from two KinderCare Learning Centers here in El Paso, Texas.  KinderCare has provided the utmost caring and pre-school education experience for children. The additional education they received has been priceless to their upbringing. They still speak of the memories that were created by the personification within the Kinder Care staff. Ms. Frances & Ms. Becky and staff Ms. Pat, Ms. Martha and Ms. Suzie from the Vista del Sol location in El Paso, Texas.  All of them are all the epitome of what child care providers should be like and I want to take this opportunity to say “thank you, you are the best in the business!”
The latest addition to our family; our little Jake, currently attends the KinderCare Learning Center located on Enid Count, also in El Paso, Texas.   We have seen Jake improve drastically with his speech, learning and motor skills ever since he began his journey at KinderCare.  Ms. GiGi, Ms. Mila, and Ms. Rita who currently care for Jake have demonstrated that they are also adhering to the same standards and essence set by Director Barbara and her team of dedicated providers.
We are proud to say, Our Kiddos are “KinderCare Kids”

~~When it became time to find a daycare for my nine-month old daughter, I knew I had only one option – KinderCare.  As a KinderCare child myself, I returned to the same center that I attended when my own mother needed quality childcare more than 30 years ago.  I never imagined that the same blessings afforded to me would be available to my own children.
The minute I walked in was like returning to a childhood home – some of the same staff that I adored still there welcoming new families and innocent little lives and new faces ready to greet the challenges associated with today’s child.  The empowerment and personal growth of all children is absolutely the number one focus of the entire staff.  During my first parental center visit, I immediately knew this was the extended family my children would come to know and love just as I did during my youth.
My daughter is now five and reading at a 2nd grade level and able to discuss topics as wide and varied as Egyptian sarcophaguses and the life cycle of butterflies.  Through KinderCare’s expanded learning programs, she has also been exposed to other educational and social curriculums including Spanish-language classes, cultural diversity, and culinary arts.  I have no doubt that her foundational academics were developed and fostered through the personal commitment of her teachers.   McKenna is now attending kindergarten at our local public school and is excelling in all aspects of her educational, social, and personal goals.
My son’s experiences at KinderCare have been just as rewarding.  My son has some unique challenges (don’t all kids!) and has needed some specialized and targeted intervention both academically and behaviorally.  I was never made to feel inadequate as a parent nor ashamed of my son’s struggles.  One of the most rewarding aspects of quality childcare is the feeling that I am working as a team with those who I entrust the care and development of my children.  It is this teamwork that has allowed my son to excel and overcome whatever difficulties he encountered.  Campbell is now a child who demonstrates patience, strong verbal skills, and an amazing scope of knowledge well above that of other four-year olds.
I cannot relay the cherished emotions I have when discussing how much I love and appreciate the staff at my local KinderCare.  They are not just teachers to my children and the center is not just the place that I leave my kids as I go off to work.  For over 25 years, the center has been a second home to our family – a place for friends, creativity, personal achievement, and the wonder of childhood.
KinderCare is a testament to the old saying “The more things change, the more they stay the same.”  The needs of today’s child have grown and evolved but the love shown to our family always stays the same.
