Our goal is to ensure that your child(ren) will have many experiences learning, growing, and enhancing their skills at this school, while providing a safe, nurturing and clean environment for them each day. We feel is it important that you and your child visit the school and meet your child's teacher before enrolling. We also offer a "Free Day" for your child to be a Knowledge Beginnings child for a day to try out our programs. We have an open door policy, and you are always welcomed each and every day to visit and play with your child. Give us a call today to visit our school and meet our staff.

Accreditation

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Interactive Kindergarten (5 - 6 Years)

A full-day interactive Kindergarten program that utilizes new curriculum with an interactive smart board making first grade readiness a priority.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Math

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

  1. Sunday January 01, 2017
    1. January's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Light and Dark, plus the Sky and Weather

Through shadow play, experiments with flashlights, observing the Sun and more, infants and toddlers will enjoy learning about light and dark this month. Infants continue sensory development by looking at contrasting patterns and at objects that are clearly defined by sharp edges and bright colors, while toddlers will build on their understanding of the light and dark concepts with play around daytime and nighttime. The older Discovery Preschool children will turn their attention to the sky as they learn about weather, the Moon, the Sun, and stars.

Children 4–5 years old: Transportation, Healthy Bodies, and Winter

For children in the Preschool and Kindergarten classrooms, January is filled with variety! They’ll begin by learning about transportation and studying how things get from “here” to “there.” A few weeks later, the focus will shift to health and bodies, with an emphasis placed on how to make good choices for a growing body. Towards the end of the month, children will be introduced to the transformative nature of the winter season and learn how to dress and take care of themselves when it’s cold outside.

I love teaching toddlers especially because they learn so fast, counting, and their ABC's! It inspires me that children always look forward to what they will learn each day, their smile, giggles, hugs and kisses.

Ms. Suzette is so special to Knowledge Beginnings.  She worked at a sister school for a few years before moving to Knowledge Beginnings in 2009.  She became the toddler teacher along side Ms. Clarilyn.  They make such a great team.  What is even more ironic and special is that they are both originally from the Phillipines.  They are known to occasionally speak their native language to the toddlers as well.

They have such a special bond with each other.  Their classroom is always full and you can usually find children in our Pre-Kindergarten class that had Ms. Suzette as their toddler teacher.  They will usually walk the hall to come by to check in with both of them.

A normal routine in the toddler class for group time is everyone getting a turn on the class drum.  Everyone uses the class drum individually to welcome their friends in for the day.  They love it and do a great job at sharing.  Come check it out!

    Ms. Bernadine, School Age Classroom

I love to see the thrill on the children's faces when they learn something new.

Bernadine ‘Bernie’ Whyte was born October 3rd 1993 in Mandeville Jamaica. Growing up on the island she loved helping people and making them smile, when she was ten years old she moved to America with her father, A new country, new people and new customs. She couldn't be anymore excited for this new adventure. Their first stop was Florida where she began elementary school but only one year of middle school because at the age of 13 her father accepted a new job in North Carolina. While living in North Carolina she finished middle school and proceeded to Cary High School where she finally figured it out she wanted to work with children in impoverish ridden areas; she either wanted to be a social worker, a school counselor or a child psychologist. During her Junior year at Cary she decided to do an internship at a preschool that began her love for being in the classroom. Bernadine decided that she would save money and attend Wake Technical Community college and earn her associates while she worked more with children in many settings. After graduating with her associates in May 2016 Bernadine began working at Knowledge beginnings in Cary with the school agers. She loves engaging and communicating with her kids to get to know them to incorporate different interests into the days. It is a new challenge every day and that by far is her favorite part.

    Ms. Beverly, School Cook

It makes me happy when the children tell me they like what I made for them. They all know who I am and when I walk into a younger class they all go running to their chairs when they see me. I love my job!

Ms. Beverly has been our cook for 4 years. She came to us as a chef from a grocery store. We believe she wanted to add spice to her life by coming to cook for young children. Cooking for children and seeing that excitement can be so fulfilling for someone. She greets all the families as she sees them in the halls at drop off. Every child knows her and appreciates what she does for them. She is always providing feedback on what the children's likes and dislikes are regarding the menu. She should know!

If you need a cup of coffee in the morning on your way out the door she will have it for you!!

    1. December's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Family, Friends, and Things that Go!

Infants and toddlers will be exploring family and friends, while three-year-olds will focus on things that go vroom! Social and emotional development is foundational to growth and development in babies, so this month, infants and toddlers will participate in activities that reinforce their connection to family while also exploring connections that exist outside their home, such as friends. Meanwhile, their older friends in Discovery Preschool will learn about and play around with things that move (like bicycles, cars, buses, trains, and airplanes), which are all very exciting for little ones as they continue to explore the world outside their homes.

Children 4–5 years old: My Country + Tools and Machines

The four- and five-year-olds continue exploring the world around them by learning about the state and country they live in! They’ll sings songs, play games based on travel, and learn about flags, state foods, and more. Children will also be introduced to cardinal directions (east, west, north, and south) and gain an appreciation for travel and meeting new friends from different places.

Children are naturally fascinated with machines and how things work and are put together. So to encourage that fascination, during the second half of this month children will learn about and play around with tools and machines. In addition to building literacy skills by using the names of machines and tools, children will develop math skills by graphing information, counting wheels, and more.

Health and Safety

Here at Knowledge Beginnings we offer many different safety features that will put your mind at ease while at work. Before entering our building we have a keypad entry system, where only our families enrolled have the entry code. Once inside we have an open door policy for our families, where families are welcomed to spend the day with their child or simply watch from the cameras in each classroom from the lobby. Outside the building, we have five different fenced play-scapes with a adult length latch to open the gate. Our center is a peanut free school. Our staff is CPR, First Aid and SIDS certified. For further details, please feel free to contact us.

At KinderCare, what families say about us means a lot. Read below some of the great experiences our families have had with us.

My two kids go to Knowledge Beginnings and we have loved them from the start! The teachers in all age groups are great! They are loving, caring, encouraging and inspiring. My older daughter has gained great confidence and an academic advantage through their reading and math program. As parents, you also have an option to enroll your kid in soccer to save some weekend time! The staff and directors are great! They are always responsive and flexible. They answer any questions you have and try their best to help. Sometimes we give them very short notice to have my older daughter stay in the center for spring break, and it is so easy and smooth. Our younger one now is in the infant room. The room teachers Ms. Sashi and Ms. Brentesha are awesome! My daughters always love to go to Knowledge Beginnings, and I think this speaks for all the students!

Knowledge Beginnings of Cary has continuously provided outstanding care and education for my child. As a first time parent, it can be rather stressful and overwhelming to identify a childcare center for your newborn. After meeting the professional and energetic administrators, we knew this would be the best place for our son. All staff members exhibit enthusiasms, professionalism, and passion for providing exceptional service daily. They are truly invested into the nurturing and educating all children that attend Knowledge Beginnings. They adhere to all safety procedures and are willing to go the extra mile to ensure that all parents are well informed of their child's continuous develop and education. The curriculum is outstanding and daily updates are provided to all parents to help facilitate continuous development in various areas. Our son was able to count in 2 languages (English and Tagalog) before the age of 2! The staff retention rates are remarkable and this is certainly a assuring to know that the relationship you build with your child's teacher will be long lasting. The teachers for the 2, 3 and 4 year old class begin to interact and converse with the parents in the infant rooms. It is evident that the entire staff are all on one accord and truly enjoy their careers in childcare. The administrators are always available for questions, concerns, suggestions, and always provides a prompt response. Knowledge Beginnings creates a family environment even for the parents (especially for first time parents) to meet and develop lasting relationship. Enrolling my son into Knowledge Beginning of Cary was one of the easiest and most valuable to decisions we have ever made.

- Parents

Do you want the perfect combination of caring and teaching for your child? Knowledge Beginnings is the place you want to be! Here, staff are invested in the education and well being of your children. Our son is almost four and has been attending since he was 11 months. We have been so impressed with his social and academic skills as he has grown older and moved through different classrooms. He loves to interact with his friends and teachers. He has conversations with us about his days and what he is learning. Our son is learning about letters, themes, and numbers. He loves story time and discussing what they have read. He is always so excited! In addition to his regular class, he also participates in a hands on cooking class. It is one of his favorite things to do there and he always looks forward to it.  Our daughter is now one and has been going to Knowledge Beginnings since she was seven weeks old. The teachers in that room are by far the most amazing and loving people. I didn’t worry for a second about leaving my little baby! After over a week with her, they knew what her cries and expressions meant and were always able to tell me so many interesting things about her day. As she has grown up there, she always runs into class and gives her teachers hugs and loves to play. There are so many different things that impress me about this center. The directors and staff all know my children even if they are not directly working in a room with them. The teachers are always positive and are enthusiastic about their passion for teaching. Communication between staff and parents is a huge plus. My children are loved and always taken care of. They get to be social and they are learning more than I can keep up with sometimes! This is a center of happiness for our family!

- Mother

We came to Knowledge Beginnings based on a recommendation from a co-worker. At the time, we had an almost one-year-old and a five-year-old who was just two months from school. We hated to move our five-year-old to a new school for such a short time, but the Knowledge Beginnings staff was excellent in welcoming her and we could not have asked for a better transition. We have had no regrets with our decision to choose Knowledge Beginnings. The staff is wonderful in all areas of the center.
