AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited–nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference, and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

Accreditation

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

May's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Colors and Shapes

Spring fills nature with vibrant colors and interesting shapes, making this the perfect month for the infants, toddlers, and children in Discovery Preschool to explore these concepts. Infants will have a blast as they smash paint in plastic bags and explore blocks with different shapes, while toddlers will practice identifying and sorting different shapes and colors before making their own color-and-shape books! Meanwhile, the children in Discovery Preschool will create rainbow artwork and continue to practice sorting, counting, and matching shapes and colors.

Children 4–5 years old: Insects and Spiders + Water

Some children might find insects and spiders a bit frightening, but this month they’ll discover how cool these tiny critters really are. Children will find out how insects create food for plants, how bees makes honey, why spiders spin webs, and more. After that, children will dive into the world of water! Preschoolers will learn about how water can take three forms (solid, liquid, and gas), children in Pre-K will learn about the importance of keeping water clean and explore the different ways people use water, and our kindergarteners will learn about different water sources and why water conservation is so important.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Math

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Spanish

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with the Spanish language. Music, games, children's Spanish literature, and other tools give children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language for vocabulary and conversational development. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers, colors, animals, family, body parts and pets as well as how to get engage conversationally during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo. Teachers & Staff

The loving and devoted professionals at Baytown KinderCare are passionate about teaching and caring for young children. Our program is nationally accredited, which means we have ensured that our teachers exceed state minimum standards for education level and ongoing professional development. Their lifelong love of learning is evident in their desire to stay abreast of new research and teaching techniques. Families meet with teachers three times per year to review their child's progress, which is documented in our developmentally appropriate assessments, portfolios, and anecdotal notes about daily achievements. We feel privileged to work alongside families to form supportive and cooperative partnerships.

Health and Safety

Our top priority at Baytown KinderCare is to provide a safe and healthy environment for our children, families, and staff. We do this through rigorous training and constant assessment and evaluation of proper policies and procedures. Your child’s security begins at the front door--literally. We have a locked security entrance that requires a numeric code to enter, with all side doors locked to ensure the security of the building. All guests or those authorized for emergency pick-ups must provide photo identification before being escorted through the building. Our teachers have all cleared local, state, and federal background checks, including fingerprinting, and have all been trained in infant and child CPR and First Aid. We do routine fire, storm, and lock-down drills to prepare for the unexpected. No child is ever left unattended, even for a minute. Teachers have all been trained in supervision, discipline and guidance, and developmentally appropriate practices to ensure they understand the risks associated with the children in their care. If your child has food allergies or specific medical conditions, we will work with you to ensure your child’s well-being while in our care. We also take the responsibility of your child’s emotional security very seriously: We want every child to feel safe, loved, and respected while at KinderCare.

At KinderCare, what families say about us means a lot. Read below some of the great experiences our families have had with us.

Share Your Story
If you have a story about your experience at KinderCare, please share your story with us.

My son is a five-year-old child who, with the help of Ms. Maricela and the Baytown KinderCare family, has excelled in his learning abilities. I enrolled my son in the Phonics program and it has helped him tremendously in his learning abilities. My son wows his family when he reads stories or solves a basic math problem with his older siblings.  Thank you, KinderCare, because now I know that my son is going to excel in his schooling for the future years to come. I would recommend KinderCare and the Phonics program to any parent with a young child.

- Mother

My granddaughter has attended Baytown KinderCare now for over a year and has participated in their Phonics program. This particular program has helped with the development of her pronunciation of letters and sounds. he teachers are all very nice and very attentive to the children. They also teach the children how to be polite, not only to adults, but to one another.

- Grandmother

My son has been at the Baytown KinderCare for over a year now and I couldn't be happier with the school! All of his Teachers, including the Directors, are so sweet and attentive to all the children. They make you feel like family! The teaching curriculum and Phonics program are amazing--I have definitely been able to tell the educational impact it has had upon my son. I am a very pleased parent!

- Mother

My daughter started at Baytown KinderCare in the Toddler Classroom when she was 16 months old. She was (and is) very attached to me, so we worried how she would react to new people – both kids and adults – and a new environment. To our big surprise, she settled in well after a week. During the first week, she was crying when I dropped her off and even when I picked her up (I was told that she stopped crying and was doing well once I was out of the picture). But after a week, she started to like it. When I bring her in the morning, she gives her little hand to Ms. Erica or Ms. Felicia, smiles, and goes inside to have breakfast and fun with other kids. She looks happy when I pick her up. Ms. Karla is an exceptional teacher. She knows the kids’ personalities and they are drawn to her (my daughter hugs her, which usually she does only with me). Every time I pick up my little one, Ms. Karla has something to tell me about her progress or what activity she enjoyed most today (not just “she has a great day,” but details that every parent would like to know). Ms. Beth and Ms. Pam run the business professionally: They quickly resolve financial matters and respond to your requests so you don’t have to ask twice. We feel our daughter is in good hands with Baytown KinderCare.
