AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited–nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference, and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

Our kids are taking off!

By kindergarten, our kids are testing ahead of their peers. Read all about it.

Accreditation

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Cooking

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

Math

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Teachers & Staff

Every one of our teachers goes through the same rigorous hiring process to ensure their dedication, passion, and ability to meet the needs of your child. We take pride in having the best teachers in the field of early childhood education. Every year we set aside time to further develop our professional skills through staff development days and training. Together we are committed to providing the highest quality care and education in each of our classrooms.

Making sure each child's day is the safest and most fulfilled day possible is my goal that I strive to maintain from the moment I wake up.

August
August's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: All About Me and Dinosaurs
Infants and toddlers will learn all about themselves while kids in Discovery Preschool will take a look at our favorite extinct creatures: dinosaurs! Infants will look at their reflections in mirrors, listen to voices through cardboard tubes to encourage babbling, and practice self-expression as they move while listening to music. Toddlers will create body-related artwork (like paintings of their faces) and imagine the future as they pretend to be all grown up while playing dress-up. Meanwhile, children in Discovery Preschool are in for a “dinomite” time learning all about dinosaurs and their habitats, and they’ll build essential skills through fun, theme-related activities—like counting dinosaur eggs and going on pretend fossil hunts!

Children 4 to 5 years old: Foods and Flavors, Shapes and Colors, and Alphabet Letters/Review
For the first two weeks of August, older children will be learning all about the basic food groups, where food comes from, and how to make healthful food choices. After that, preschoolers will be getting artsy as they explore shapes and colors using materials like blocks, paint, play dough, and colored water—and they’ll even take their knowledge outdoors with scavenger hunts for colors and shapes! Their older friends in Pre-K and Transitional Kindergarten will be getting up close and personal with the alphabet as they learn uppercase and lowercase letters, the sounds the letters make, and how those sounds can be combined to make words—all culminating with the creation of a classroom alphabet book.

Health and Safety

We pride ourselves on providing our children and families with a clean, healthy, and safe environment to learn and grow in. Before you even step foot in our building, you will notice some of our safety features, like fenced playgrounds and a secured keypad entry system in our lobby. Walking into our building, you will continue to see our safety features, including a cleaning and sanitation process in each of our classrooms and throughout our building. Providing a safe environment starts with our youngest, tiniest friends: our Infant Teachers practice safe bottle procedures and are trained in safe sleep. It continues all the way through our School Age Classroom, where we practice vehicle safety in our buses and parking lots. We all take pride in participating in monthly fire drills, emergency weather drills, and lock-down procedure drills. You can have peace of mind knowing every smiling teacher who greets you is First Aid and CPR certified. Our Health and Safety Coordinator would love to talk to you in more detail about the daily tasks she completes to ensure the health and safety of every child in our care.

At KinderCare, what families say about us means a lot. Read below some of the great experiences our families have had with us.

Share Your Story
If you have a story about your experience at KinderCare, please share your story with us.

My name is Tisha. My husband, Rick and I, have our five-year-old son old enrolled into the Ballwin (Big Bend and Reis Road) KinderCare Prekindergarten program. Being new to the area, we really had no direction as to which Prekindergarten program to place him in. We went to multiple locations and had decided that we were going to place him into Goddard. My  husband and I were heading to Goddard to submit our son for enrollment but I remembered that there was a KinderCare down the street that we had never toured. I contacted this KinderCare facility, where I had the great pleasure of speaking to Keith Sherry. Keith was exceptional and invited us to tour. Walking into this facility was wonderful and inviting! We were greeted with music as we entered, a security system for child/employee safety, cleanliness, and laughter. The facility smelled great as well! We were taken from room to room and were given precise details as to how the classrooms were tailored to prepare for school readiness. We were also informed of all of the different breakout classes that were available. We were introduced to staff members. We were able to witness some teachers on the floor playing with children with others teaching a lesson plan or reading to their classroom. The children and staff were very engaged with one another. Keith Sherry was also a very big part of the classrooms. He knew every single child's name as well as the name of parents who were picking their children up for the day. Children would run over and hug him, give him a high five, and talk to him. This was very impressive to both my husband and I. Goddard or any other child care facility was not even a question for where we knew our son should attend. We signed him up with Keith immediately. We have been with KinderCare for many months now and we still are as happy as it now as we were then! We felt then and still feel now that it is the best decision that we made for our son. It's very comforting to know that my husband or I could arrive at any given part of the day and Keith Sherry is participating in the classrooms with the children. My son absolutely loves him! Keith is kind, compassionate, and hands-down fantastic at his job! Our son will begin kindergarten in August. Although we live right behind the school that he will be attending (and they provide after-school care), there is no question as to where we will chose to continue his care. He has learned so much since beginning the KinderCare Prekindergarten program. His teachers, the Lori's, are patient and caring. They provide a direction and order to this class and have their attention. Our son comes home telling me about the exciting things that the Lori's have taught him. We are able to see his work and progress. These are very exciting things to see and it is always interesting to see the creative ideas that these ladies have these kids going! We absolutely adore the Lori's! Thank you for having such wonderful people in your Ballwin KinderCare. You have exceptional people supporting this program. It comforting to know that when I leave my child there, he continues to learn and develop among people who love and care for him and honestly want him to be all that he can be. The center is still as clean and orderly as when we initially toured it. I would recommend anyone to this KinderCare and appreciate the dedication that is provided from this great group of people.

- Mother

Ries Ballwin KinderCare has been great. We were at a center that had closed and we relocated here and wow! The teachers are great and the Director, Mr. Keith, is wonderful. The teachers are always doing new and exciting things for the children. Walking down the hall to pick my girls up is a real treat because i get to see every room doing something neat and all the children seem happy. I really love all the extra things--like parent week, trunk or treat, and the nice family events that take place!

- Mother

I love bringing my children to Ries Ballwin KinderCare. The teachers are so friendly and welcoming. Both of my girls have learned so much and they are always excited to come to school. Their teachers keep me well-informed of their day-to-day activities. I've watched my children grow academically since they started at KinderCare.

- Parent

I could not ask for a friendlier group--always smiling and considerate! They foster our children, take them on learning adventures, ensure their safety, and adore them unconditionally. The impact they have is forever and for that, I'm grateful my family is surrounded by this KinderCare team.

- Mother

Although I knew the staff here is great, I was still hesitant to put our baby in daycare as a newborn. I suppose it was due to the unknown, and never having done this before. It was tough trusting a group of people with our newborn baby who had only been with my wife for the first month of her life. Leah gave us a tour, which we really appreciated because we had all the same questions I’m sure most other parents do while touring. Although we knew the facility and staff was great, we (mainly me) learned a lot about the company, its goals and methods, and found it all very helpful. I was also introduced to Cathy and Raven, two of my daughter's teachers, and they made me confident that we were making the right decision and that our daughter would be in great hands. As we went in for her first day of class, we were still nervous and anxious, as we did not know what to expect and how our daughter would adapt. I could not have been any happier with how it all panned out. I got her daily sheet filled out by Nancy at the end of the day and it brought a smile to my face. It was very thorough and informative. Little comments such as “I got to feel sandpaper because we were learning about textures,” just absolutely made my day. Today marks our fourth day of class and I am already at ease and so happy that we chose to enroll our daughter at the center. The transition has been flawless and we can already see a difference in our daughter at home, which I am confident is in part due to her experiences at Ries Ballwin KinderCare.

- Father

What we enjoy most about Ries Ballwin KinderCare is the enduring relationships Over the years, our four-year old has formed some of the most enduring relationships with fellow classmates, former teachers, and current teachers. Our daughter still talks fondly of fellow classmates she bonded with during her days spent in the Infant and Toddler Classrooms. Although those classmates have long since left KinderCare, the memories endure. We enjoy hearing our daughter's current classmates call out her name excitedly as she enters her classroom each morning! In addition, the KinderCare curriculum has prepared her well for her introduction into kindergarten this fall.

- Parents

I have been more than happy with Ries Ballwin KinderCare--both with the caring, competent staff and with the facility itself. It is bright, cheery, and buzzing with activity at all times. The staff plans lots of unique activities; they have the best Halloween party in the neighborhood!

- Mother

My child has been enrolled at Ries Ballwin KinderCare since April of 2011. We have primarily relied on KinderCare to help our son grow, develop social skills, and prepare him for preschool. Recently, at a two-year-old check-up when filling out the developmental milestones, I was amazed at how my son not only reached all required milestones listed on the physician's form, but some for the next age group as well! Thank you, KinderCare.

- Father

Our son has attended Ries Ballwin KinderCare for the past year and a half, since he was only 12 weeks old. Throughout this time, the staff has been amazing and has made the daycare setting a second home for our baby to learn and grow. We love hearing and receiving the daily reports of events and activities, and observing our son grow in all areas of learning. KinderCare has done a great job of introducing activities that will increase social, cognitive, emotional, and physical growth by using music, books, sensory play, social play, art projects, movement activities, and many more. The teachers here have really built a bond with our son and we are confident that he is safe and happy every day of the week, thanks to the wonderful staff and Directors!

My husband and I want to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff at Ries Ballwin KinderCare, whom we have been acquainted with for several years. Our two youngest children have special needs, which require many therapies, medical equipment, and medications. The KinderCare staff has always shown genuine care and interest in their progress. Without my knowledge, the staff even stayed late one evening to rearrange the classroom setting to better accommodate my daughter's wheelchair. How reassured we are to leave our children with such devoted caretakers!
