We offer children a variety of experiences each day to develop and express themselves through various outlets.  It is our goal to help create a life-long love of learning within each child.

Welcome

We offer a nurturing environment where everything’s intended for learning: the classroom, the materials, and the activities. No matter how young your child is, every element is designed so that learning happens in a fun and natural way. Our curriculum is based on the belief that children learn best by doing and playing.

Accreditation

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Interactive Kindergarten (5 - 6 Years)

A full-day interactive Kindergarten program that utilizes new curriculum with an interactive smart board making first grade readiness a priority.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Cooking

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Teachers & Staff

We pride ourselves in the longevity of our staff. We have several long term teachers, some who have been here since the very beginning in March of 2000! Our teachers are licensed through the Department of Early Education and Care, and the few Assistants we have are currently working towards their teacher's certification.

    Beth McAlpine, Center Director

To be a successful teacher and administrator you need to be a problem solver. Whether it is figuring out what makes a person tick, or what approach is best for each child, who will work well together or solving a financial issue, it is all about thinking creatively and turning a challenge into an opportunity for growth and learning.

Beth began as a classroom teacher who has worked with all age groups. She has been a Program Specialist as well as Assistant Director before becoming the Center Director in 2008. Beth enjoys each day being a new challenge and experience.

Working with children brings a liveliness to my life because it's like seeing adventures, explorations and learning all over again but through the eyes of a child. Each day is different and working with families to ensure the best in health, safety and education for their children is most important. I enjoy being a mentor to my peers and helping run our center to be a thriving and enriching environment for everyone.

Jen joined the KinderCare team as a Kindergarten teacher in 2002. She has graduated several Kindergarten groups and has spent much time in all other classrooms as an afternoon-teacher and a float teacher. She has worn many hats during her years here! Live each day to the fullest

I grew up in Holliston and still live in the house I was raised in, I graduated Holliston High School in 1998.  I always knew from a young age that I wanted to be a teacher.  My freshman year of college I attended Keene State in Keene, New Hampshire and started my education classes there.  Sophomore year I transferred to Framingham State College (now University) where I continued my education courses, majoring in Elementary Education with a interdisciplinary second major including Psychology, Sociology and Economics.  When I graduated in June of 2003 I worked for two years at Next Generation Children's Center in Sudbury as a Pre-K teacher.  I wanted a job closer to my house so I made the switch to KinderCare Learning Center here in Ashland in November 2005.  I worked two years full time as the PreSchool teacher then I went part time to pursue a position working one to one with children with Autism for six years until September 2013.  I came back full-time as the Program Specialist and have been taking courses working toward being a director since then. Working here for such a long period of time has shaped the teacher I have become and the director that I want to be.

I love learning and helping others to learn. Even as a child I knew I wanted to be a teacher. Getting the opportunity to watch children grow and develop, knowing that I made a difference, means the world to me. I am inspired by seeing the children learn, and of course the smiles and hugs are great, too!

Deb and I wanted to share with you that we have had the nicest experience with Becky in the infant room. She is absolutely wonderful. We love how she cares for our children, gives them the attention they desire and focuses on their learning & developmental needs. We always know when we come into the Center Becky will work with our children as the true and wonderful professional that she is.
