Accreditation

Many of our child care centers are accredited by national organizations that require us to meet rigorous early childhood education standards and guidelines for high-quality care and education. Programs that are accredited have demonstrated their commitment to go beyond the state’s minimum licensing requirements to meet and maintain these high standards of quality.

Our Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks - 1 year)

Babies grow and learn every day. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing "home away from home" where babies can explore and make new discoveries. We know that learning through play is extremely valuable at this age and our Early Foundations® Infant program is designed to give babies the skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifetime of learning.

Toddler Programs (1 – 2 Years)

As toddlers develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity, our Early Foundations® Toddler program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. So each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words, as well as make their first friends.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2 – 3 Years)

At this age, children are making new discoveries daily. And as two-year olds begin to exert their independence, our Early Foundations® Discovery Preschool program is prepared to open their eyes to a world of learning, sharing, and exploring. Our holistic approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they'll need as they continue on to preschool.

Preschool Programs (3 – 4 Years)

As preschoolers gain more self-esteem, they may feel ready to take on the world. Our Early Foundations® Preschool program enhances that confidence by providing activities to help children become problem solvers and lifelong learners. Through independent exploration, structured activities, and hands-on learning, children will work on early literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts. A healthy dose of running, jumping, and dancing keeps them active too.

Prekindergarten Programs (4 – 5 Years)

Prekindergartners are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – school. And our Early Foundations Prekindergarten® program is designed to get them ready by teaching letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills. With small group instruction, independent play in an organized atmosphere, and whole-group activities, children will have all the right skills to hop, skip, and jump right into kindergarten.

Before- & After-School Programs (5 – 12 Years)

Even after school's out for the day, children need to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. That's where our Catch the Wave® program comes in. This innovative before – and after-school program allows school-age children to balance learning and fun through a variety of experiences. From homework help to fun physical activities, our program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.

Summer Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Don’t miss out on KinderCare’s Summer of Wonder: Six themed programs that will make summer exciting, educational and tons of fun. Whether your child is in our preschool, Pre-K or school-age programs, all of it is designed to help children learn while soaking up the fun. We offer flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families like yours so we hope to see you there.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare has partnered with Child Care Aware® of America in an effort to offer fee assistance for Active Duty military families and solutions to their child care needs when care at a Child Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures - Enrichment Program

Cooking

The Cooking Adventures program gives children opportunities to participate in fun, developmentally appropriate cooking experiences. They will learn about recipes, ingredients, cooking vocabulary, and the importance of a healthy diet. The curriculum includes lessons on picnics, pizza, and heart-healthy meals.

Math

The Math Adventures enrichment program is designed to teach important mathematics concepts such as geometry, numbers, measurement, and probability. Your child will learn about length, height, and weight. He will learn about shapes and solids. He will learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and count money. Math is everywhere and giving your child every advantage now will add up to success later in life.

Music

Ongoing research proves that early exposure to music helps children think, reason, create, and express themselves. Children will laugh and learn about rhythm, vocal melodies, and a variety of musical genres and instruments, which can lower stress and advance memory. Learning never sounded so good.

Phonics & Reading Adventures

Set your child up for advanced success with literacy through phonics, the study of letters and sounds. Reader books, games, and activity cards help your child understand the basics of vowels and blending syllables, giving him confidence and command of language.

Spanish

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with the Spanish language. Music, games, children's Spanish literature, and other tools give children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language for vocabulary and conversational development. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers, colors, animals, family, body parts and pets as well as how to get engage conversationally during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo. 1. January's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Light and Dark, plus the Sky and Weather

Through shadow play, experiments with flashlights, observing the Sun and more, infants and toddlers will enjoy learning about light and dark this month. Infants continue sensory development by looking at contrasting patterns and at objects that are clearly defined by sharp edges and bright colors, while toddlers will build on their understanding of the light and dark concepts with play around daytime and nighttime. The older Discovery Preschool children will turn their attention to the sky as they learn about weather, the Moon, the Sun, and stars.

Children 4–5 years old: Transportation, Healthy Bodies, and Winter

For children in the Preschool and Kindergarten classrooms, January is filled with variety! They’ll begin by learning about transportation and studying how things get from “here” to “there.” A few weeks later, the focus will shift to health and bodies, with an emphasis placed on how to make good choices for a growing body. Towards the end of the month, children will be introduced to the transformative nature of the winter season and learn how to dress and take care of themselves when it’s cold outside.

Teachers & Staff

Our loving and devoted professionals at KinderCare are passionate about teaching and caring for young children. As a high quality child development program, our teachers exceed state minimum standards for education level and ongoing professional development. Their lifelong love of learning is evident in their desire to stay abreast of new research and teaching techniques. Families meet with teachers three times per year to review their child’s progress, which is documented in our developmentally appropriate assessments, portfolios, and anecdotal notes about daily achievements. We feel privileged to work alongside families to form supportive and cooperative partnerships.

Life is amazing when you smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realize how blessed you are for what you have.

I have been working with children professionally since I was 17. I have a lot of experience teaching children with special abilities such autism, aspergers, ADD, ADHD, PTSD, deaf children, and other behavioral predicaments due to trauma and stress. I believe that there is no such thing as a bad child. I believe that all children have special needs that we need to adapt to help them learn, whether it is big or small. I started working with children at an after school program, teaching Pre-k and Tiny-Tot sport classes. That’s when I knew that I wanted to always stay working with Early Childhood. From there, I had an amazing opportunity to work at a couple child development centers, and even become a Director to a prior program as well. The reason why I love working with KinderCare is because I went to one as a child, and I was able to read and write by the age of four, and I wanted to become a part of being able to help families see what a huge difference it can make not only in my life by also my son’s as well. I feel so privilege everyday to interact with families and their children in classrooms, as well as ensuring that we do provide the highest quality education, in addition to making sure that they are nurtured, safe, and most of all have fun!

    1. December's Learning Focus

Children 6 weeks to 3 years old: Family, Friends, and Things that Go!

Infants and toddlers will be exploring family and friends, while three-year-olds will focus on things that go vroom! Social and emotional development is foundational to growth and development in babies, so this month, infants and toddlers will participate in activities that reinforce their connection to family while also exploring connections that exist outside their home, such as friends. Meanwhile, their older friends in Discovery Preschool will learn about and play around with things that move (like bicycles, cars, buses, trains, and airplanes), which are all very exciting for little ones as they continue to explore the world outside their homes.

Children 4–5 years old: My Country + Tools and Machines

The four- and five-year-olds continue exploring the world around them by learning about the state and country they live in! They’ll sings songs, play games based on travel, and learn about flags, state foods, and more. Children will also be introduced to cardinal directions (east, west, north, and south) and gain an appreciation for travel and meeting new friends from different places.

Children are naturally fascinated with machines and how things work and are put together. So to encourage that fascination, during the second half of this month children will learn about and play around with tools and machines. In addition to building literacy skills by using the names of machines and tools, children will develop math skills by graphing information, counting wheels, and more.

Health and Safety

At Lower Terrace KinderCare your child’s security begins at the front door. All parents will have a code to the door; any alternative persons who are picking up your child will have to ring the door bell for assistance. The alternative party picking up your child HAS TO BE 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license or state ID. If they are not on the consent form for pick up, or are under 18 years of age your child will not be release to that party, and you will receive a courtesy call about it as well.

In addition, all of our teachers at our center have undergone a national and state background fingerprint clearance as well prior to working at the center.

Our top priority at KinderCare is to provide a safe and healthy environment for our children, families, and teachers. We do this through rigorous training, constant assessment and evaluation of strict policies and procedures for the center and playgrounds.

We are trained in infant and indolence CPR and First Aid. Another safety item we perform is a routine fire, storm, and lock-down drills to prepare for the unexpected. Throughout the day, your child will be supervised at all times. No child is ever left unattended, not even for a minute. Teachers have all been trained in supervision, positive guidance, redirection, and developmentally appropriate practices to ensure they understand the risks associated with the children in their care.

If your child has food allergies or specific medical conditions, we will work with you to ensure your child’s wellbeing while in our care. We also take the responsibility of your child’s emotional security very seriously. We want every child to feel safe, loved, and respected while you and your family attends our center.

At KinderCare, what families say about us means a lot. Read below some of the great experiences our families have had with us.

If you have a story about your experience at KinderCare, please share your story with us.

Both my 4 ½ years old and 1 ½ year old attended KinderCare. We’ve been with the center since my oldest was 4 months old. We love KinderCare because the teachers are great, there so mine learning opportunities, and our girls think school as their second home. We highly recommend trusting KinderCare with your children’s needs. Also, one of the best things is the low turn over, and our girls have a consistent teacher, that allows them to develop very trusting relationships.

- Mother

My family owes so much to our KinderCare.  They always go above and beyond to make our special needs child safe, comfortable, and engaged.  We have been at this center for over 4 years and I couldn’t imagine finding a better childcare center in the entire city.  The teachers are extremely friendly and the management team is always willing to help in any way they can.  We love our school and are extremely grateful for them!

- Father

My children have been in Pre-School and Pre-Kindergarten at this center and they have developed great social skills along with mental skills that are now helping them through elementary.  When each of my daughters were in Kindergarten their teacher was amazed at how much they knew and would consistently tell me how impressed she was with how ready they were for her class.  I accredit our KinderCare for great curriculum implementation and also for their genuine interest in my children’s education.  We loved our center so much that even through our girls didn’t necessarily need after school care we still enrolled them in KinderCare’s School-Age Program to keep them in such an awesome setting.

- Mother

I began my daughter at this KinderCare when she was only 7 weeks old.  I was so worried to leave my infant while I worked but thanks to the wonderful Infant Teacher the transition became easier and easier everyday.  She had such good communication with me and would relay all pivotal information to me as it was happening.  My daughter is now 2 and reaching developmental milestones daily in her current classroom.  I love our KinderCare and would recommend them to anybody who is in need of quality care!

- Mother

I enjoy Kenzie's teacher bring supportive of my requests with things such as not letting her take long naps, and letting me know how much she is eating specifically. I also appreciate the little side notes that the teacher tells me about what Kenzie does everyday! The director is also so helpful with any concerns I have, or other issues with my kid’s experience. I feel like the center’s teachers and directors are more like family, now more than ever.

- Mother

Adalyn seems to be learning a lot of new things. She likes to show me everything she learns at school. We are pleased with Ms. Andrea! Adalyn talks about her all the time!

- Mother

My son transferred here from another KinderCare Center, and I was so nervous about how he would adjust. Within the first day I picked him up, he was so excited to come back to his classroom. He also as some food allergies and his teachers are always amazing about contacting me if they are unsure about something. His dad also feels very included and says that the teachers do an amazing job at making it a nice, warm, inviting environment.
