First-Ever KinderCare Back-to-School Sweeps Boasts Spectacular Grand Prize: One Year of Free Tuition at High Quality Early Childhood Education Center

Portland, Ore. (July 9, 2013) – KinderCare Learning Centers, a leader in early childhood education for more than 40 years, today announced its first-ever Back-to-School sweepstakes, which will award five lucky families an unprecedented prize – a year of free tuition at a KinderCare or Knowledge Beginnings center*.

From now through October 18, 2013, new families who visit any participating KinderCare or Knowledge Beginnings Center and take a tour will automatically be entered to win one of five grand prizes: a scholarship for one calendar year of KinderCare or Knowledge Beginnings services for one child.

“We are extremely proud of our educational programs and our teachers, and we want to share the experience with as many families as possible,” said Dr. Elanna Yalow, CEO of Knowledge Universe Early Learning Programs. “Studies have shown that high quality early childhood education helps children build a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning, and we hope that the opportunity to receive free tuition for a year will encourage more families to visit us and discover the benefits of being a part of the KinderCare family.”

KinderCare and Knowledge Beginnings curriculum is proven and research-based. According to a 2011 statewide assessment in Maryland, more students who attended prekindergarten at KinderCare Learning Centers tested fully ready for kindergarten than their non-KinderCare classmates. A higher percentage of KinderCare children ranked as top performers in Language/Literacy (14% more), Mathematical Thinking (18% more), and Scientific Thinking (11% more).

While the educational curriculum is the backbone of every KinderCare center, at the heart are the experienced teachers and center directors who create nurturing and safe environments for the more than 130,000 children they care for each day.
